UJSMCSL Appoints New External Auditor.

The leadership of Unijos Staff Multipurpose cooperative society limited UJSMCSL has finally off-Set over Forty families of the deceased members benefits following the release  the long awaiting third party remittance from the integrated  personnel and payroll Information System (IPPIS). 

President UJSMCSL Ukpo G Aondohemba made  this known in an emergency congress meeting occasioned by the appointment of an external auditor for  the society on Thursday,13th June,2024.

At the  historic event which took place at the faculty of management Sciences of the University, the EXCO activated for the first time in the history of UJSMCSL,the power of congress to appoint external auditor for the cooperative.

Recall that in the past EXCO interview professionals and board of trustees appoint external auditors, however article 32 item 6 on page 20 in the amended bye law which states that :

The external auditors shall be appointed by the general meeting following a recommendation and submission of three candidates from the Executive Committee to audit all the accounts of the society and produce audited reports in accordance with accounting standard, was activated by the Aondohemba led administration.

The congress who chose based on merit went for Martins Kutus Oloruntoba and co chattered accountants who scored highest,a total of 81.8% in the interview now appointed by congress as the new external auditor for the cooperative.

The president who responded to questions filled in by cooperators subjected the second item of the agenda which is the proposal by management for the cooperative to invest 30 million in the Unijos micro finance bank,to the investment committee for further scrutiny and action based on congress decision.
