Incessant Plateau Killings : Amb. Margif Yohanna Advise Gov. Mutfwang,Fed. Govt And Security Agencies For Change Of Strategies

Following the incessant killings of  the innocent Communities of Bokkos and other Communities in Plateau State  ,the Former Governorship Candidate on the platform of Labour Party (LP),2023 elections,Amb.Margif Yohanna has called on the Governor of Plateau State, barrister Caleb Mutfwang, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Assembly and the relevant security agencies to change Strategies in fighting against the militias for expected results.

Chief Margif who doubled as Community  Leader in Mushere Chiefdom of Bokkos Local Government Area of  Plateau State further Said the state government , Federal and other relevant bodies doing the same thing ,the same way to fight these groups of Militias who are bent on annihilating the entire Communities of Bokkos may  no longer yield the required immediate result, hence  the need for government to review Strategies to get require and immediate results.

The Former Governorship Candidate in the 2023 Election in Plateau State raised the immediate observations is contained in a press statement electronically sent to this medium 14th June 2025.

He decried the killings in Plateau State, especially Bokkos ,Bassa and Riyom who are worst hit by the attacks , killings and destructions of properties of  innocent citizens  by these militias with no help in sight to rescue these helpless affected Communities from the mercy of these blood thirsty militias who derived pressure in killings , destructions and seeing innocent people suffer for just no cause.

Amb.Margif who is the Waziri Mushere  Chiefdom, Bokkos Local Government Area, use the medium to appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led  Federal Government ,the Governor of Plateau State Caleb Mutfwang, National Assembly,and the lnternational Community for support and urgent intervention  to rescue the Communities from total extermination  by these Militias.

Stressed that the Spade of the attacks, particularly during the farming season, and harsh weather conditions, has exacerbated the suffering of the victims, who are largely farmers.

The community leader further said  many villages in Mushere Chiefdom, such as Kadim, Hokk, and Nawula, just to mention few, had already been ravaged and sacked by the militias.

“These attacks culminated in countless loss of lives, destruction of homes, displacement of inhabitants, whose lands are now  currently occupied by these militias who now deprive them access to their ancestral homes and livelihoods.

However called for urgent and immediate actions from the relevant bodies, and” I appeal to Gov. Caleb Mutfwang, the Federal Government, our National Assembly members, security chiefs, other critical stakeholders, and the international community for support in bringing an end to this insccent killings by these militias in these  Communities .

“The current escalation of attacks and wanton killings across Plateau State necessitates collective action to restore peace and security,” Amb Margif maintained.

He further noted that the militias were emboldened by the lack of effective response from the authorities, hence the killings and land grabbing were replicated in several communities across Plateau.

“As leaders, we cannot stand idly by while our people are being brutalised and our lands taken over. Our people cannot perish in silence, we must take decisive action to save them and restore peace and security.”

“The cries of our people seem to fall on deaf ears, and it is imperative that we, as leaders, take urgent action to address this situation.”

“The killings and land grabbing from one community to another, is not a good testament to our leadership, so we must urgently collectively intervene and stem the spread of bloodshed,” he said.
