In a strategic political engagement aimed at shaping the future direction of the party and the country, Hon. Solomon Nandy Chendan recently held a high-level meeting with former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to deliberate on key national and party matters, particularly the zoning of the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The meeting, described as frank and forward-looking, focused on the growing conversation around equity, justice, and inclusivity in Nigeria’s political leadership structure ahead of future electoral cycles.

Hon. Chendan, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Scottbrian Global Security Services (SGSS) and the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate in Plateau State 2027 general elections, used the opportunity to strongly advocate for the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket to the Southern region of the country.

According to him, such a move would not only strengthen the internal cohesion of the party but would also reinforce the broader national aspiration for fairness and balanced representation in Nigeria’s leadership structure.

During the engagement, Hon. Chendan emphasized that zoning the presidential ticket to the South goes beyond political convenience.

Rather, he noted, it represents a moral and democratic obligation that acknowledges the significant contributions of Southern Nigeria to the growth and development of the country.

He argued that giving the South an opportunity to produce the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress,(ADC) would send a powerful signal of the party’s commitment to justice, national unity, and inclusive governance.

The discussion with Rotimi Amaechi, a prominent voice in Nigeria’s political landscape and former governor of Rivers State, also explored broader strategies for strengthening democratic participation and ensuring that political decisions reflect the diversity and aspirations of the Nigerian people.

Hon. Chendan expressed confidence that constructive dialogue among key political actors within the party would ultimately lead to decisions that promote stability, fairness, and progress for the nation.

He further noted that Nigeria’s political future must be built on principles that encourage inclusion, reward contribution, and foster national cohesion across all regions.

The meeting, observers say, reflects ongoing consultations among political stakeholders within the African Democratic Congress as the party continues to position itself as a credible platform for democratic leadership and national development.

Hon. Chendan concluded by reiterating his optimism that with unity of purpose and strategic decision-making, the party can play a decisive role in building a more representative and prosperous Nigeria.
