As at the time I sat to write on this subject, I had scant knowledge about who Hon Dachung Musa Bagos is.

The test I envisaged it would pass was already evaporating even before I started. I didn’t want to be laughed at if the material went out.

And perhaps even sued; that is if I got things muddled up. As a Journalist, standing before a judge, could never be an option.

Whatever criticisms this material would receive is my responsibility to shoulder; and for which I offer sincere apologies, if they don’t meet your standards.

Now, I understand and know better how God has brought him thus far. The sheer amount of determination ensured he didn’t remain struggling for life.

He had purpose for his life, even when those who thought differently stood by, watching to confirm otherwise. He has been vindicated!

Any young person who ever thought he has been a hussler, wait until you have been told what Dachung Musa Bagos did over the years to get to where he is today.

Have you ever stayed in the Terminus market area in Jos selling CDs? Have you conceived workable ideas, yet had no one to sponsor? How about using your car to serve as  mobile office, just so you can pursue a dream running an NGO?

The questions are not yet finished: Have you met a man who loves to make others happy at his detriment? Have you come in contact with a man who does not have a ‘no’ when solving people’s problems?

Come to think of it, how many politicians would sacrifice to help their constituents without thinking of the price? Are there still politicians who make attempts at satisfying people, even if such will bring pains to them?

As at the time Dachung Musa Bagos started to shoulder people’s problems, a lot of people who didn’t believe in his capacity started to read meanings into his philanthropy. Before long, the seeds of what he wanted had started to manifest its head in people’s lives across communities in the state.

When Gospel Music on the Plateau was started by him on Plateau Radio Television (PRTV), the motives behind it was commonplace: He, being the anchor, used the programme to transform lives by nurturing talents in young people through gospel music. 

More to it, it was envisaged for such young persons to own acoustic guitars of their own. And importantly, so that they can ply their trade more effectively, using them.

Today, when the idea of Family Christmas Celebration is mentioned, those who know its worth recall that years ago, Hon Musa Bagos had, in conjunction with Plateau Tourism Corporation brought gospel artists to the Wildlife Park to celebrate yearly.

Have you heard about the Berom Christmas Carol? It is a yearly gathering of Berom choristers and other invited artists to celebrate Christmas at the DB Zang Commercial College, Bukuru every December; thanks to the yearly sacrifice of Hon Dachung Musa Bagos.

No wonder, at the heights of the struggle, he gave all he had in order to bring to Jos, the international gospel singer, Ron Kenolly to perform at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos. Even though it never materialise, it was an ambitious project that changed his perception.

But, the personal struggle that enabled him warm his way into the EFCC and ICPC for consulting roles could not be possible if his integrity had not been tested and found worthy of their trust.

If you come to the realisation that the struggle has been his life, only then would you get the meat of the matter about his person, and what he stands for.

He informed his listeners through what he published in the Gospel Music on the Plateau Magazine. That captured the inspiring stories of prominent musicians on the Plateau; who through them can provide direction and mentorship for others in the ministry.

While it is true that he enjoyed the glitz of the TV program, it is without doubt that his efforts were complimented with several awards to boot.

It has been established that when a man makes a mark, like the agama lizard; he needs to be complemented, and at best, encouraged.

Truth is, our paths have never crossed each other, so that busy bodies won’t go to town with a different narrative of what you are reading.

Perhaps, if you must engage yourself in it, know that I am a member of the constituency he represented in the House of Representatives. At least, I can take liberty and ask questions about his person and activities.

Bagos’ brand of activism has a conviction power; no wonder, it has repeatedly helped several causes; using the Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation as a platform.

It is on record that Vwang people in Jos South of Plateau State have a history of being involved in areas that have changed the narrative of the lives of people. Being a member of this community, his talents have not been misplaced.

It does not stop there; their activities as with other parts of the state transcend boundaries of the ordinary; just so if they can meet the needs of community members.

It has been established that the political blood flowing in his veins must have been inherited from his father. He attempted to be chairman of Jos South at some point in his life; an endeavour his father had accomplished in the defunct Jos Division several years ago.

He had a father, who, like a collosus, his influence still bestrides Berom land on account of the things he planted in the past. What is being celebrated today as Nzem Berom has his imprimatur.

It is on record that one spiritual leader, who had a profound impact on his life was Rev Victor Musa, former President of ECWA. His influence was so pronounced that he ended writing a book on: The life and times of Rev Victor Musa.

When it was apparent that he has had enough political tutelage, he showed interest in contesting for the Jos South/Jos East House of Representatives Federal Constituency.

In 2015, an ambition to represent his people he had nursed for some time did not materialise as he was prevailed upon to put it on hold.

In 2019, he returned stronger and determined to be the voice of his people. He got the nod of the federal constituency and was in the House for 4 years.

Again, even though a second tenure was realised, the ambition was scuttled in 2023 after he won the election to represent his people on account  of a ruling by the Appeal Court.

In an attempt to create a meeting point for the youth of Plateau State, the G17 became a reality, as Convener of the group. Youth from the local government areas were involved in discussing policies that should favour Plateau people.

Today, many recall how he held the Lalong’s government by the jugular on account of the MoU the state government entered with Jaiz Bank to rebuild the Jos Main Market in 2022.

It is not for nothing that life, as a book, has different but interesting chapters to read. It will be out of place to think that a bad chapter will suffice to stop reading the book.

Over the years, Bagos must have ‘read with horror and a heavy heart how some villages’ have come under intense and severe attacks by Fulani herdsmen militias.

This sad recurring decimal in Bokkos, Mangu, Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Riyom, Kanam and Wase has emboldened his capacity to speak for the state; while advocating that lasting peace and justice are given to the victims.

He has, without doubt, proven that he is dedicated, through the quality of representation so far given; for which his people have reason to have confidence in him.

In four years of impactful legislation, community development, and youth empowerment initiatives he has given; among many others, it is safe to conclude that the struggle has just started.

Indeed, the bells are still tolling for him. The calls by people in the district to step a notch higher in Plateau North in 2027 are deafening. They say, the voice of the people, is the voice of God.

ADC Vows To Deliver President In 2027 General Elections With 35 Million Votes.

Ahead of 2027 presidential election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Wednesday boasted that for the first time in the history of Nigeria, the party will deliver a President with 30 million votes.

Speaking at the party global summit, with the theme: “Repositioning Nigeria: How Collective Responsibility and Democratic Participation Can Drive Nigeria’s Turnaround,” the National Chairman of ADC, Ralph Nwosu explained how they will caused tsunamis in the nation’s politics space with 35 million votes.

“We are going to go to the field. Are we ready to give minimum, 35 million votes to the next president? Yes,” he said.

He added that “for the first time, we will deliver a President with 30-something million votes. Our national youth team have assured me that they are going to bring out a minimum of 30 million votes and I am sure they are going to do that.

“The civil societies are already organizing. They just joined us not more than six months ago but by now, their membership is over 5 million. They are going to pull out 20 million.

“The 32 million benchmark, I guess, is just an understatement because of some of the challenges we have in this country. For the first time, the next president of Nigeria will win clearly.

“With over 30 million votes, and it will be delivered with handshake and love. In that way, our democracy will now begin to take the path that it should take.We have solid minerals of all sorts. We have human capacity.”

Berating the Ahmed Bola Tinubu-led administration, Nwosu said it was a shame that for the first time Nigeria could not go for the Olympic event.

“This administration in place, for instance, Nigeria could not go for the Olympic event, it couldn’t organize well for the Olympic event and we scored zero. 

We have never heard of it before. A lot of sports activities, they say we didn’t have money, no budget. But they have 20-something billion Naira to build one house for an elected person.

“They have over 100 billion naira to renovate the National Assembly. They have almost 15-something trillion to give out for a contract, a project that we don’t need. We may not even need for the next 10 years.”

Fielding questions from newsmen on how he’s going to achieve the 35 million votes, Nwosu said, “we have in Nigeria 99 million voters as recorded before the 2020, before the 2023 general election. 

People are not voting. People are tired. We are mobilizing them. We are mobilizing people that just turned 18. As a matter of fact, as of now we have about 170 million voters.

“We are mobilizing people that just turned 18. We are mobilizing people that have refused to vote. And we have people who have the capacity to do the mobilization. A new beginning has come.

“Our governors, our senators, for the first time Nigerian citizens have told me to tell them that we are going to shame all of you. 

We want to pack all of you in the room and then jettison you so that we can lay a path to the new Nigeria we want to build and the kind of quality leadership that they want to enthrone.

“So all of them will be locked up in the villa and the people will take their country through the ballot box.”

On voters’ apathy, the ADC Chairman said, “the apathy has always been there. In 2019 election, we had 60 something million voters, how many voted? In 2023, we had like 70 million voters. How many voted? Less than 25 million. So the apathy has always been there. But we have devised a system.”

On the coalition, Nwosu said: “We are bringing many political parties together and I can assure you without missing a word, you’re going to see the biggest coalition of patriots, People driven coalition.

“I’ve been dealing with political party leaders for more than eight years and calling on them that we have to come together. 

But now we want Nigerians to drive it. They will all come. The citizens of Nigeria are going to shame them.”

Taking a swipe at the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nwosu said “do you know that since APC took power in 2015, Nigeria has been crawling. We are almost going under.

 When you look at the globe, Nigeria is completely out. APC has buried Nigeria. So for us, we are bringing light, we are bringing diversity, inclusion and equity.

“We are bringing handshake and you say we deal with people who caused Nigerians the greatest embarrassment? 

No. No way. We are building coalition of patriots and then eventually political parties are going to come in. Nobody will miss this bus because this is the only bus that will bring transmission in Nigeria.

“And I want you to note it. For the first time, the presidency will be won by ADC and we are going to score nothing less than 35 million votes.”

As Asama said the action will help to drastically reduce the incessant killings that are still going on in some of the communities unreported,most importantly now that farming season have set in.

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, was among the distinguished panelists at the launch of the May 2025 edition of the Nigeria Development Update (NDU), a flagship World Bank report series that assesses Nigeria’s economic and social development prospects.

Governor Mutfwang featured alongside other notable speakers, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso; Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; and Managing Director/CEO of UAC Foods Ltd., Mr. Oluyemi Oloyede. The event, titled Building Momentum for Inclusive Growth, focused on accelerating Nigeria’s economic trajectory in a way that benefits all citizens.

In his remarks, Governor Mutfwang declared that “Plateau is on the rise and steadily charting a course toward economic prosperity.” He acknowledged an increase in national revenues but raised concern about the declining purchasing power that continues to undermine the real value of those revenues at the state level.

He stated: “Yes, revenue to the state has increased—there’s no doubt about that. But we cannot ignore the harsh reality that purchasing power has significantly declined.

 As leaders, we are committed to responsible spending aimed at improving the wellbeing of our people, and we continuously engage in peer reviews to enhance our approach.”

Highlighting the strides made in Plateau State, the Governor noted a remarkable improvement in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), saying: 

“When we took office, Plateau was generating about N800 million monthly. I’m pleased to report that we now generate over N3 billion monthly. 

The key to this growth is strategic investment in sectors where we have comparative advantage.”

According to Governor Mutfwang, agriculture remains central to the state’s development strategy.

“In 2023, our budget for agriculture was around N3 billion. This year, we increased it to N13 billion. 

We’re investing in the entire value chain. Plateau is also among the first states to establish a Ministry of Livestock, following the Federal Government’s lead, due to our advantage in that sector,” he said.

He, however, emphasized that insecurity continues to divert funds meant for critical infrastructure: 

“We’re spending a lot to tackle insecurity, which is affecting microeconomic stability. It’s a national challenge, not peculiar to Plateau. 

But as leaders who sought this mandate, we have no excuse. What we are offering our people is hope. Based on the NDU’s report, we’re on the right track, and that gives us confidence in the future.”

Governor Mutfwang also spoke on efforts to support vulnerable populations, explaining that subsidies have been provided in agriculture through access to inputs. 

He cited an inclusive cash transfer initiative in the transport sector that subsidizes movement for over 8,000 passengers daily, an equivalent of about N39,000 per person monthly.

He further revealed ongoing collaborations with the Nigerian Railway Corporation to revive rail services in the state as part of efforts to alleviate hardship.

On human capital development, the Governor highlighted that scholarships for indigent students had been increased by 100%, and tuition fees in tertiary institutions subsidized.

“We have implemented significant subsidies in education and healthcare, positively impacting the lives of vulnerable citizens across Plateau,” he added.

In his opening remarks, Acting World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, Mr. Taimur Samad, commended the robust participation in the event. 

He explained that the Nigeria Development Update is a biannual EU and World Bank report that provides in-depth analysis of recent economic trends and offers perspectives on the country’s economic outlook.

“This edition of the NDU focuses on inclusive growth, growth that is not only faster but benefits all Nigerians by creating jobs and broad-based opportunities, especially for the poor and economically insecure,” Mr. Samad said.

He noted positive signs in the economy, including increased growth, a more reflective and stable exchange rate, rising foreign reserves, and improved fiscal positioning driven by higher federation revenues.

Presenting an overview of the 2025 NDU, Mr. Alex Sienaert encouraged a shift toward a private sector-led, public sector-facilitated growth model.

“The role of the public sector should be to create a conducive environment and establish the right incentives for businesses to thrive,” he noted.

“However, challenges remain, especially persistently high inflation. It is crucial for the CBN to maintain a tight monetary policy to anchor economic stability,” he stressed.

The Governing Council of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has announced significant decisions following its periodic review of the institution’s affairs, including the commencement of the process to appoint a substantive Vice Chancellor.

The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Williams Qurix, flanged by the Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Shedrack Best and Registrar of the university Yakubu Ayuba,stated that the Council, as the university’s highest supervisory body, regularly assesses its operations based on management submissions. 

“This is one of such times we come to receive submissions from the management of the university to review them,” he explained. “In doing so, we took some decisions, that are far-reaching, some have different degrees of consequences.”

Addressing disciplinary actions, Professor Qurix disclosed that sanctions had been imposed on staff found culpable of misconduct. “So some of it has to do with disciplinary cases committed by staff that were found wanting. 

Perpetual absenteeism, those that are not discharging their responsibilities as provided for in the regulations, those ones have been sanctioned by the council,” he affirmed.

On a positive note, the Council also approved promotions for deserving academic staff. 

“Council again on the other hand promoted some other staff specifically,” Professor Qurix announced. “I am happy to report that council promoted four people to the Rank of Professors and two to the Rank of Associate Professors.”

Recognizing the importance of a well-defined operational framework, the Council approved several key policy documents.

 “Some other decisions had to come because every university strives in a good atmosphere of understanding policy and indeed strategy,” Professor Qurix elaborated.

 “So council considered different memos as far as policy is concerned and approved the policy on accessibility to infrastructure, policy on ethics, policy on environment and policy on plagiarism and the use of artificial intelligence.

” He emphasized the groundbreaking nature of the AI policy, stating, “You know that this is topical.

 I think that I make bold to say that is a pioneering work especially policy on artificial intelligence, this is aimed at giving the university a good boost, an edge and also to position it for responsibility as expected.”

Regarding the university’s leadership, Professor Qurix announced the commencement of the search for a substantive Vice Chancellor. 

“On the general performance of the university management, the Council, through the Finance and General Purpose Committee, through the presentation made by the Vice Chancellor, Council is satisfied that the university is performing well and that the Vice Chancellor has been on Acting position.

,” he stated. Professor Qurix stated that “Council approved that the position of the Vice Chancellor be advertised any moment. These were the key decisions that were taken, the reason is to give the university a substantive Vice Chancellor.”

Addressing recent security concerns in Bokkos, Professor Qurix assured the university community of their safety. 

Speaking at the background of recent security breach in Bokkos, though far away from Plateau State University, The Pro Chancellor, Professor Williams Qurix said,

 “the university remain safe’ and assured that many security measures have been taken to guarantee the safety of the university guaranteeing its safety and that ‘the university has since turned a new leaf as learning is going on in a conducive atmosphere as the university is poised to develop into a world-class rated university.

He further added, “Some of the decisions taking, were taken because, they really want to be a world-class university noting that there are fine lines that has be drawn and they would not go beyond those fine lines in their attempt,

 “to move the university forward.”

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has admonished Christians to put their trust wholly in God, declaring that “God is more than enough” and nothing is too difficult for Him to do.

Pastor Adeboye made the remarks on Sunday during an interdenominational service held at the RCCG Northern Camp Ground in Kassa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

The service marked the conclusion of the RCCG 2025 Northern Region Ministers and Workers Conference.

Speaking on the theme :

“Divine Manifestation,” 

Pastor Adeboye drew inspiration from Jeremiah 32:27 and Psalm 2:1-4, assuring worshippers that God remains capable of restoring lost glory, especially for Plateau State.

“It doesn’t take God time to do what He says,” Adeboye said. 

“Whatever was not planted by Him will be uprooted. When your time for manifestation comes, you will weep no more.”

He encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in faith, submit to God, and live righteously.

 “Stop pretending to be Christians. When He saves your soul, run from sin. God will work through those who truly abide in Him,” he added.

Addressing the socio-political climate in Plateau, Pastor Adeboye prophesied a positive turnaround for the state. 

“Plateau will reclaim its lost glory,” he declared.

Representing Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the event, the Secretary to the State Government, Samuel Jatau, thanked Pastor Adeboye for his continued prayers and belief in the state’s potential.

 “Despite the challenges, Plateau remains one of the safest states in Northern Nigeria,” he said.

Earlier, Pastor James Dagunduro, the Deputy Continental Overseer, led prayers for peace in Plateau, particularly in light of recent violence in some communities.

Pastor Tony Curtis Ukagwu, the Regional pastor, welcomed participants and described the gathering as a divine opportunity for believers to reconnect with God.

Continental Overseer African Continent 2, also emphasized the importance of unity in the faith and a return to God.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of plateau state has again reiterated the commitment of his administration to uphold the principal of fairness, Justice and Inclusiveness.

 Vowed  no matter the antics of the enemies of the state who are bent in  seeing the state always  in crisis and unwarranted , unprovoked and callous killings to scared investors out of the state under my watch, the administration under my watch will be resolute to ensure plateau maintain it posture as home of   “Peace and Tourism”, as against this backdrop we will not condone lawlessness or prompt discord, instead, I call on us to rise to the moment, this is the time to come together, to protect our heritage and to preserve our land for generations yet unborn”.

Governor Mutfwang was speaking at the 2025 Ishokori Annual festival of the people of “Anaguta” in Jos North local government of Plateau state held at Polo Field 10th May 2025 .

The governor represented by the Chief of Staff ,Jeremiah Satmak reiterated that the “Theme” of this year celebration of the festival of “Ishokori” which is “Celebrating Peace and Cultural Diversity of the People of Jos North” is a powerful testament to the “Anaguta,” People for enduring commitment to preserving their heritage , Promoting Peaceful Coexistence and advancing sustainable development,not only within their community,but across Plateau State as a whole.

The Governor stressed that the Ishokori festival is much more than  celebration of tradition, but a sacred moment of reflection and reconnection, saying it brings together illustrious sons and daughters of Anaguta nation, and offered a platform to reinforce communal bonds, engage in meaningful dialogue and uphold shared value of unity, peace and progress.

He assured the Anaguta Nation of his Administration commitment to protect , preserve , promote the dignity and relevance of traditional institutions across Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang however expressed his unalloy appreciation to the Anaguta Nation for their steadfast support for his administration, adding that, 

” You have been a pillar of strength in our collective journey to recover, rebuild and reposition Plateau State as the pride of our great nation”.

Earlier in his Welcome address, the National President of “Anaguta Development Association”(ADA), Dr.Boka Garuba Said the cultural festival comprises all the tribes in Jos North local government which has made cultural explorts over time.

Further revealed that this year theme of the “Ishokori” festival in the sustainable Peace in  Jos North after avoidable conflicts in the area which has over  time being the people to economic stagnation over the years.

It was on this premise that the organizers of this year 2025 “Ishokori” festival is celebrated with fundraising to build a Muti Purpose Sports center in line with this year theme,”Peace Center”.

However thank the attendees for making out time to graced the festival despite their separate tight schedule.

In his opening address at event,the Chairman Hon.Barr.Taminu Turaki lamented the monsterous activities of  insurgence in the state over years that have turned the state  hitherto the “Home Of Peace And Tourism” to States people where scared to go either for businesses or to reside.

Further described the Anaguta Nation as one of the fore most Nationality with other ethics Nationality found exclusively in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Stressed that on  account of this cluster, it’s naturally impossible for the “Anaguta” Nation to separate themselves from Jos North especially on matter of Security.

In his keynote address, the guest speaker at the occasion,the Goc 3 Div,who doubled as the commander Operation Save Haven (OPSH),in the state , Major General Eyitola Oyinlola Said peace in culturally diverse society a case study of Jos North Local Government Area of plateau State is relevant and thought provoking.

Major General Eyitola further Said, it speaks directly to our aspirations to endearing peace , security and development in Jos North and Plateau State as a whole.

Stressed that “Ishokori” festival is not just merely the Celebrations of Arts and Culture, it’s also reaffirmation of identity, tradition and most importantly communities.

The festival serves as constant reminder that if properly harnessed can be a peace building and reconciliation of Nation integration.

Revealed that in Jos North where diversity is both gift and responsibility which is the symbolism of the festival which makes it Carry’s immense weight.

He highlighted some of the steps taking by 3Div and Operation Save Haven (OPSH),in the state in restoring  

Peace  to include , Organising  security summit in the state that bring all ,including security Chief and para military to chart way forward on security issue in the state.

In a positive move towards giving back to society, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has commissioned the newly renovated and fully furnished Barr. Caleb M. Mutfwang’s Crèche at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna.

The crèche ward, renovated and equipped through the personal intervention of Governor Mutfwang, was commissioned on Saturday, May 10, 2025. 

The initiative is aimed at creating a nurturing and conducive learning environment for young mothers and their children, thereby investing in a brighter future for the next generation.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Mutfwang expressed delight at the progress witnessed at the hospital under the leadership of the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, Professor Aishatu Yusha’u Armiya’u.

“I am pleased to witness the transformation and development taking place at this hospital. Under the capable leadership of Professor Armiya’u, the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital has recorded tremendous strides. 

I am here to show support and identify with the positive work being done both in Jos and here in Kaduna,” the Governor stated.

He continued, “It is my honour to contribute in a modest way to the growth of this great institution. I therefore commission this crèche for the use of young parents and their children, with the hope that it will further support the excellent services being rendered here.”

Earlier, the Medical Director/CEO, Professor Aishatu Yusha’u Armiya’u, warmly welcomed Governor Mutfwang and expressed deep appreciation for his benevolent gesture. 

She noted that the Governor responded promptly when approached for support, accelerating the process that led to the facility’s transformation.

Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, joined his counterparts from the Northern region at the Northern Governors’ Forum meeting held at the Government House in Kaduna, where pressing security challenges and infrastructural deficits topped the agenda. 

The Forum, while expressing deep concern over the persistent insecurity plaguing the region, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his sustained commitment toward addressing the nation’s security issues and improving infrastructure across Northern Nigeria.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the meeting acknowledged the participation of the 19 Northern State Governors alongside the Royal Highnesses who chair their respective Traditional Rulers’ Councils. 

The Forum emphasized the importance of nonpartisan cooperation, collaboration, and peer review as crucial mechanisms for tackling the numerous developmental challenges confronting not only the northern region but the country at large. It also charted a strategic direction to mitigate the worsening state of insecurity.

The Forum resolved to collaborate closely with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum to develop modalities for increasing support to federal security agencies. It also underscored the importance of adopting and strengthening local security initiatives tailored to each state’s peculiar challenges. 

Furthermore, the governors agreed to establish inter-state platforms to coordinate surveillance activities along their shared borders. The Forum reiterated its strong support for the establishment of state police and called on the National Assembly to expedite the enactment of the necessary legal framework to ensure its realization.

Welcoming the Governors, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, underscored the importance of continued collaboration among Northern states to address developmental setbacks. 

He highlighted the urgent need for a renewed and unified approach to tackling the twin crises of poverty and insecurity, which have left millions displaced and trapped in cycles of economic hardship.

Governor Sani remarked that while individual and collective efforts had been made by state governments, the gravity of the region’s current reality requires more than piecemeal solutions.

 He described Northern Nigeria, once renowned for its vast agricultural wealth and resilience, as now bearing the greatest burden of insecurity and economic stagnation. 

He emphasized the need for decisive, united, and sustained action to reverse the negative trend.

The meeting also featured remarks from the Chairman of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence Muhammadu Saad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, who affirmed the unwavering commitment of the region’s traditional institutions to peace, stability, and development. 

He noted that while insecurity is a global concern, the challenges facing Northern Nigeria are particularly acute and demand urgent collective intervention.

The Sultan decried the widespread killings and violence in states such as Benue, Plateau, Niger, and Sokoto, describing the situation as unacceptable. He expressed confidence in the current crop of Northern Governors, based on their demonstrated commitment and individual engagements with him, and called for a united Northern front in confronting the region’s shared challenges for the greater good of Nigeria.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has issued a strongly criticism to  Alhaji Buba Galadima, one of the prominent member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), following his recent remarks about  SDP’s political structure for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Alhaji Galadima has been branded a “political opportunist” due to his attempts to regain political relevance since 1999, after which he faded from prominence in the political scene. His history of political maneuvering and reckless statements to regain  political patrons is well-documented.

Buba Galadima’s reckless and unguarded statement lately is contained in press release signed by SDP National Vice Chairman North Central Alhaji Abubakar Dogara , personally signed by him and made available to Gnews.

 SDP emphasized that the issue with the NNPP and Buba Galadima is their focus on highlighting the flaws of others while neglecting their own problems begging to be address.

Alhaji Dogara expressed disappointment that the NNPP appears preoccupied with analyzing the character of others without reflecting on the integrity of its own members.

He further stated that whether the SDP possesses the political structure to compete against the so-called “mega” parties in the 2027 elections is not for the NNPP or Buba Galadima to determine; it is ultimately in the hands of Almighty Allah.

The Social Democratic Party reiterated that, contrary to insinuations, it is not merely a party that will offer the so-called mega parties a political challenge. Instead, it aims to surprise critics like Buba Galadima and the NNPP.

The Executive Chairman of Jos-North Local Council  Barr. J.K Chris  has  accused and refuted the claims of the former Governor of the State , Sen. Simon Lalong that the Council receives Billions as  monthly allocation.

The Chairman also described the claim of Sen. Lalong, as a,  “Blatant Liar”, while also demanding proof from him.

Speaking on a Political Radio Program on Jayfm “Nigeria at Sunset”, Anchor by Mr. Ponsah Fanap, the Chairman revealed that, a formal Petition has been submitted to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and the Director General of DSS, urging them to invite Lalong for questioning.

He stated this while providing answers to questions that “Sen. Lalong, no longer has immunity; he can now be prosecuted for misinformation. During his administration, he claimed to be releasing ₦500 million monthly to the Council that is false”.

He further clarified that the highest amount ever received during Sen. Lalong’s tenure was about ₦200 million, approximately not ₦500 million as stated by the former Governor in his speech he delivered at PUUSDUNG Festival.

“I will set up a panel of inquiry to thoroughly investigate this matter. Anyone found guilty will face prosecution,” The Executive Chairman added.

The Chairman also expressed concern that Sen. Lalong’s  statement has stirred unrest in the State and in most LGCs.

According to him, “This allegation is a ploy to incite Jos-North youths against the current administration”. 

Barr. Chris revealed that youth groups in the area are already mobilizing to protest based on the misinformation.

“This is an attempt to set us up. The youths are agitated, and we must set the records straight before things escalate.” He said.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye, has expressed deep sympathy with the government and people of Plateau State over the recent spate of violent attacks, declaring prophetically that the season of bloodshed has come to an end.

Pastor Adeboye made this declaration during a courtesy visit to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

Describing the killings as senseless and heart-wrenching, the revered cleric noted that the Church is deeply concerned about the persistent loss of innocent lives. He reassured the Governor that the RCCG has been fervently interceding for the state, trusting God to intervene and bring lasting peace.

“We are here to encourage you and to let you know that even in these difficult times, we have not relented in our prayers for Plateau State. We have dedicated a special hour of prayer for the state, believing that a new story will emerge, one of peace, restoration, and hope,” Pastor Adeboye stated.

He added, “There are times when the flesh may fail, but God never fails.”

Pastor Adeboye also informed Governor Mutfwang that he and his team were in the state for their annual retreat at the RCCG Camp in Heipang, Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area. He said it was important to pay a visit to the Governor and offer prayers for the state’s healing and restoration.

In his response, Governor Caleb Mutfwang warmly welcomed Pastor Adeboye and expressed deep appreciation for the RCCG’s consistent support and spiritual intercession on behalf of Plateau State.

The Governor noted that the RCCG Camp in Heipang, once deserted due to insecurity, has now resumed activities, signifying a return of hope and resilience. He credited the proactive efforts of security agencies and their strong collaboration with his administration for the improved security situation.

“It is only when men of God lift their voices to heaven that God grants them wisdom and answers the cry of His people,” the Governor said.

“We thank you, sir, for your love for the land and your unwavering commitment to building the body of Christ. We look forward to joining the prayers because we believe that as we look up to God, our refuge and strength, He will give us divine direction and the wisdom to lead aright.”

Governor Mutfwang also commended Pastor Adeboye for his long-standing concern and intercessory role in the affairs of Plateau State.

In its frantic efforts to raid plateau state of criminal elements and its environ,the Nigeria Police force Plateau State Command has arrested person with Five Hundred Rounds of 7.5MM  of Ammunition .

As the command boss, CP Emmanuel Olugbmiga Adesina passionately appealed to the good and law abiding citizens of the state to cooperate with the command to raid criminal elements from the state and bring it back to it hitherto posture of “Peace And Tourism”.

The Commissioner of police plateau state command CP Emmanuel Olugbmiga Adesina give the charge during press briefing on significant development in relation to the outstanding achievement of the command in relentless efforts to maintain law and order, reduce crime and improve peace on the plateau held at the Command Headquarters 7th May,2025.

The Police Commissioner said the Force have successfully recovered a substantial  Caches of Ammunition that would have been used by criminal elements to unjustifiably take the lives of innocent citizens of the state and destroy properties .

Revealed further that on 4th  May,2025 ,at about  9 :40 pm the police force under the command based on credible intelligence,a criminal hideout along Bauchi Road in Jos North Local Government Area of the state was raided, in the process an abandoned Ash Colour Golf Wagon with registration number JJN 812 AH was recovered.

Further search carried on the vehicle  according to the police commissioner by the Force operatives ,500 Rounds of 7.5MM ammunition were recovered.

He also recalled that a case of calpable homicide was reported on 3rd May 2025 where yet to be identified person was killed and the police swung into action immediately we got the report to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of the viticm.

He stressed that it was in the process of the investigation to unearth those behind  the above, recoveries were made , assured the general public that the police is making frantic efforts to arrest the perpetrators and recover their operational weapons.

Reiterate that the Force has launched manhunt on  the men of the under world ,appeal to the good citizens of Plateau State to provide the Force with credible and relevant information that could help in the investigation.

As the police in the state remain resolute in it mission to protect lives , properties , maintain law and order in the state,as the Force are dedicated to create a habitable environment for all residents of plateau state.

I received with rude shock, the sad news of the call to eternal glory of the Paramount ruler of Pan Nation and Chairman of Qua’an Pan Traditional Council, Nda Miskagam Emmanuel Dabang, whose  passage to the great beyond was conveyed in an official communication by the Executive Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Audu Manship on Monday.

I am deeply saddened by the vacuum created by the sudden demise of the revered custodian of the heritage of the Peace loving Pan people.

 I take solace in his enduring legacies of purposeful leadership and peaceful mien that facilitated the various developments recorded in different facets of endeavors of the Pan people during his historic and memorable reign.

May I extend my sincerest condolences to the entire Pan Nation at this moment of grief. I join millions of friends, well wishers and sympathizers of the Pan Nation in praying for the repose of the soul of the departed monarch, as he transitions to join his ancestors.

My condolences, most specifically, goes to the immediate family of the departed monarch, the management of Quan Pan Local Government Council and the entire people of Plateau state, as we mourn the lost of a gem and man of impeccable character.

 It is my earnest prayer that God in his infinite mercies shall grant the bereaved and all those who grieve over the tragic exit of this iconic figure the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is deeply saddened by the passing of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Prof. Sunny Tyoden.

Until his passing, Prof. Sonni Tyoden was a distinguished scholar and Professor of Political Economy, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, whose towering credentials and legacies as an intellectual powerhouse remain awe-inspiring.

An accomplished public servant who served as Deputy Governor to former Governor Simon Lalong, for two consecutive terms, late Prof. Tyoden was a grassroot mobilizer whose philanthropic record was equally exceptional. He will be sorely missed. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family, friends and associates, and the government and good people of Plateau State during this difficult time.

May the soul of Prof. Sunny Tyoden find eternal rest. Amen.

Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has paid condolence visits to the families of two distinguished sons of Plateau State, Late Professor Sonni Tyoden, former Deputy Governor of the state, and Baba Denis Lamu, two-time Chairman of Mangu Local Government Council, to commiserate with them over the loss of their highly respected patriarchs.

Accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo and other top government officials, Governor Mutfwang visited the Jos residences of the deceased elder statesmen, where he offered heartfelt condolences and paid glowing tributes to their exceptional lives of public service and devotion to community development.

At the Rayfield residence of the Late Professor Tyoden, the Governor described his passing as a personal loss. He fondly recalled a recent visit to the former Deputy Governor during his medical treatment in London.

“I saw him in November, and honestly, my heart was shattered,” the Governor said. “I thank God that he successfully underwent surgery and began chemotherapy. I had every hope that he would pull through, but God had other plans.”

Governor Mutfwang extolled the virtues of the late academic and politician, noting,

 “What gives us comfort is that he lived a life worthy of emulation. He made remarkable contributions in academia and in governance. As Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos and beyond, he left behind an indelible legacy.”

He also acknowledged the steadfast support of Professor Tyoden’s wife and family throughout his illness, expressing appreciation to all who stood by him in his final days.

Responding on behalf of the family, Gyemu Wetle Tyoden expressed deep gratitude to the Governor, saying, “You stood by us during the most trying moments, and today you are here again. We are truly grateful. 

May God continue to guide and strengthen you as you lead Plateau State through these challenging times.”

Similarly, Governor Mutfwang visited the family of Baba Denis Lamu at their Jiyep Hwolshe residence in Jos. 

He described the late community leader as a refined administrator, a true statesman, and a revered figure in the Mwaghavul Nation whose legacy in Mangu Local Government remains impactful and enduring.

“Baba Lamu was more than a politician, he was a builder of people and communities,” Governor Mutfwang said. 

“I vividly recall my late mother speaking of the culverts and infrastructure he provided, many of which still stand. That is a testament to true leadership.”

He further praised Baba Lamu’s advisory role to the late Mishkaham Mwaghavul and lauded the admirable values he instilled in his children, who continue to uphold his legacy through meaningful contributions to society.

On behalf of the family, Michael Denis Lamu, the eldest son, thanked the Governor for his thoughtful gesture. 

“Despite your demanding schedule, you came. Your presence has brought us immense strength and comfort,” he remarked.

He remarked that her gentle spirit and noble character left a lasting impression on all who encountered her.

The Governor noted that her passing is not only a profound personal loss to her immediate family but also a significant loss to the community and the entire state, where she was held in high esteem for her quiet strength, generosity, and dedication to humanity.

The Plateau State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Emirs’ has raised an alarm over the Upsurge of cases of Child Trafficking in the state and it environ.

The Traditional Institution in the state,has strongly appealed to the state government Caleb Mutfwang to beam it searchlight towards the proliferations of Orphanage homes scattered around the state to ensure some of them with good intentions to give those orphans, better living, the intentions are not abused by many who may want to use it as an avenue to make money out of it.

This advise was  handed to the government through the Chairman Traditional Council of  Chiefs  and Emirs’who doubled as the Gwong Gbonge Jos, Jacob Gyang Baba during the 2025 Nzem Berom Cultural Celebration held on the 2nd May 2025 at Polo Field ,Jos North local government .

The council decried the rates  which the state is making news from negative perspective over the trafficking  of plateau childern mostly under age for manual labor and modern slavery outside the state in some cases outside the country .

The Royal Father Condemned the news of trafficking of persons from the state to other parts of the state which is not pleasant to the ear, and did not portray the good image of the state to the out side World in positive direction.

He decried recent  upsurge of numbers of children  traffick from plateau state  recently ,which is mind boggling.

As against this backdrop, the government of Barrister Mutfwang should start to scrutinize the accredited Orphanage homes in the state to ensure those coming to adopt these children are scrutinized with comprehensive detailed documentation to ensure they are not using these innocent children for their personal, Selfish, callous and financial gain.

The Traditional body called on Governor Mutfwang to ensure the new commission set up by the government, saddled with the responsibility of combating Trafficking of persons, is equipped to fight these enormous task ahead .

He use the medium to call  on Mr  president  Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider the reintroduction of history subject in the school curriculum which was erroneously esponge from the school curriculum for just no reasons.

Stressed that it is imperative for us as a nation to know where we are come from , where we ought to have been as a nation, where we are now and where we should be in the next few years from now. Revealed , all these questions and answers wouldn’t have been possible without history subject in our secondary curriculum.

All these can be achieve through historical anticident in our secondary schools.Add that a nation without history has run Short of identity , hence  the need for us to  revisit the issue of bringing back history subject  to our curriculums in the school.

The story of Panshak Henry Zamani, one of Nigeria’s greatest rappers has a unique trajectory. It comes with a lot of lessons to inspire and uplift young persons.

Better known as Ice Prince, the genre of his music has a large fan base, who are often thrilled almost to a point of cult following.

He remains consistent on account of the influence of Jos, a city he calls ‘the best, coldest place in the World’ has had on him and his music.

For obvious reasons, he is opened to his fans; and even more, those who may not like his genre of music and swag; he tells his story with a passion that is sufficiently convincing.

Today, his fans know and appreciate how life has treated him while growing up in Jos; but this is not to forget his native home, Tabulung in Kanke local government area of Plateau State.

It is not an assumption that the Industry’s ‘coolest cat’ loves Jos, Plateau State to the point of naming one of his musical albums, Jos To The World.

People become what they dream to be by virtue of their life experience. The slow rapping Oleku and Aboki crooner, has a fair share of what life has taught him.

He has always admitted, and truly so, he had a father who was a man of means while he lived. His passage may have changed and tilted the balance of survival in the later years.

It was as a result of making things happen for his good and future that he came into his own. For that, he was able to create a viable platform for himself in the years that followed.

Late in 2024, he recounted how a failure to raise 20 thousand naira only stood between him and university education. This has happened to several persons from this part.

He told his fans on Amazing Klef Podcast: ‘I am an orphan. I didn’t go to the university because of N20K’. It never stopped him as that was not the end of his life.

Panshak Henry Zamani says: “If this imperfect human can make it, then nobody has an excuse to fail.

‘I was the guy who, every term, would spend at least three weeks at home because of school fees’.

Therefore, in order to survive, ‘I did menial jobs: I worked as a pool table attendant and made leather slippers just to get by.

“I was born into some privilege—my dad was rich when he was alive, but after he passed away, things changed. I’m not academically inclined or very smart, but I am grateful, and I thank God for my life.

The crooner couldn’t be anything but be proud of ‘where I come from, anyday, I can never come from anywhere except Jos’, and thus, he used that to rap ‘his city to the world’.

With big plans for ‘Jos to the world’, he was home last year to uplift the spirits of community members. If you doubt it, ask what he did when he visited Jankwano (Evangel) Hospital, Jos during the same period.

Did the Gada Biu people in Jos not benefit from his largesse? Walking all the way to Evangel, with no incident of stampede, it made the difference; for what he is to them.

Ice Prince Zamani is still a history maker, being Nigeria’s most successful commercial rapper. Mr Incredible MI Abaga, as others are still alive to confirm its veracity.

He became the first African artiste to go on a BET stage to receive an award solo. That is why he has reasons to disagree when credit is given to Davido.

Asked why that is so, he had this to lay his claim to: “I’m the most loyal nigga you’d see. Even when I want to release, I can’t without playing the record for Audu and MI, for their approval. It’s not like me and them don’t fîght, we have our fîghts but you’ll never hear me say things about Chocolate City.

“Even when I made the most money, I didn’t talk about it because I can never and I’ll never bite the hand that feeds me. Audu, Paul, MI, Yahaya, Jesse Jagz, they’re my blood as no money, no business, no music can come between us”.

Born Panshak Henry Zamani on October 30, 1986, in Minna, he steadily “rose to fame after releasing his hit single Oleku in 2010. The song became one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs of all time, and it’s still widely popular today.

“Ice Prince’s music career has been marked by several notable achievements, including winning the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour and releasing his debut studio album “Everybody Loves Ice Prince” in 2011.

He has collaborated with top African artists like MI Abaga, Jesse Jagz, and Sarkodie, and won numerous awards for his music, including several Nigeria Music Video Awards, Headies Awards, and Channel O Music Video Awards.

“As a rapper, Ice Prince is known for his unique style, which blends hip-hop with African rhythms and melodies. He has released several successful albums, including “Fire of Zamani” in 2013 and “Jos to the World” in 2016. He founded his record label, Super Cool Cats, and has signed several talented artists.

“Ice Prince’s personal life is also quite interesting. He has a son named Jamal. He has had challenges he faced in his early music career, including financial constraints and self-doubt’.

As the World marked Workers Day yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, and Plateau State Labour Party governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, Professor Patrick Sunday Dakum, has called on the Nigerian government at all levels to improve and make better the welfare of workers, saying it will go a long way in boosting their morale in discharging their duties and shunning corrupt practices. 

While congratulating workers on their auspicious day, Dakum lamented that the Nigerian civil service which is the engine room of government is in a state of comatose by virtue of unfavourable condition of service, thereby killing the morale of the greatest population of workers, promoting and encouraging corruption to thrive in the service. 

He observed that the deterioration of Nigeria and its snail-walk growth and the poor implementation of government’s policies are tied to the poor morale of civil servants whose take home pay is by far less commensurate to the economic situation of the country and cannot meet their domestic demands and cater for the academic and health needs of their children and wards. 

Dakum berated the N70, 000, minimum wage which most states are yet to pay, while workers are grappling with exorbitant house rents, high cost of food stuff and transportation, school fees, health needs and so on, saying its too little. 

He called on the government at all levels to ameliorate the hardship of workers by constructing housing units for them, provide mobility loans and improve on their health and other allowances; and to ensure each one of them has access to health insurance scheme; and on retirement be given their full entitlements and consistently have their pensions paid. 

The former Commissioner also frowned at the indebtedness of most governments in the payments of gratuity of retired civil servants and epileptic payments of pensions saying they are traumatic and depressing capable of causing untimely deaths. 

He stated that every retired civil servant is supposed to feel satisfied and happy for serving their country after retirement and not to be frustrated with nothing to show after putting over thirty years in public service. 

Dakum added that the suffering of retired civil servants after retirement spurs current workers to safeguard their future by delving in corruption to have investments thereby retarding the progress and prosperity of the country.

According to him, every retired civil servant is supposed to go home with their complete gratuity and other appreciation largesses from the government, and to regularly secure their pensions. 

Dakum commended the workers for their patience, resilience and determination to make the country succeed, and admonished them to shun corruption, and be dedicated to their duty and to take their health seriously which is paramount. 

He congratulated and wished them a fulfilled workers season.

Unlike in the previous Workers’ Day Celebrations, where long list of Workers’ demands and gross failures of government are highlighted  amist weeping and lamentations,May Day 2025 Celebration in plateau superintended by the “Time Is Now” administration of Caleb Mutfwang have changed the narratives.

Delivering this  year 2025 Workers’ Day message which is held every 1st May of the year , look place at Polo Field in the state capital.

The state Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Eugene Manji in conjunction with his counterpart in  Trade Union Congress (TUC), showered accolade and praises on governor Mutfwang performance in all sphere of governance which have direct bearing on the lives of the citizens of the state barely two years on the saddle as governor .

The state NLC Chairman comrade Eugene lamented  sudden resurgence of spate of killings going on in some communities of the state for  weeks now ,which has practically defies security interventions,  lamented the names the Killers have been branded with like “unknown Gunmen”, Farmers Herders Clashes”,and other names   attempt to shed the killers from their callous, inhuman, heinous and  their  crimes against inhumanity.

 The union decried the killings and destructions of lives and properties going on in some communities in the state for the past three decades and continued because the past administrations in the state lacked  the political will to Implement the  various committees set-up to unravel the immediate, remote and those behind the senseless, unprovoked, callous, barbaric and unwarranted killings of innocent people in some communities of the state.

Promise the NLC and it’s affiliates  in the state we stand solidly behind the state government led by Caleb Mutfwang in ensuring that the white paper on other  committees set-up to  unravel those  persons or group indicted in the report in the past, and recent barbaric, gruesome Killings of innocent people in some communities are brought to book to serve as deterrent to others.

NLC thank governor mutfwang for prioritizing  the welfares of workers in the state ,as Workers’ demands  under his administration have never degenerates to industrial dispute or disharmony which have help in no small measure in strengthening the bound of relationship between  government and labour in the state.

The union use the occasion to highlight  plethoras of benefits the Workers’ so far enjoyed under governor Mutfwang’s Workers’ friendly government which includes,the payment of Pension , up to date in salary payment , payment of four months backlog of  salaries abandoned by governor lalong administration owning civil servants in the state.

Other achievements of Mutfwang led administration is provision of “Metro Buses”which has help to reduce Harsh Economic impacts on the citizens mostly the civil servants in the state.

The Congress  thank the governor for his intervention in ensuring  the proposed Housing Estate of the union become reality as Mutfwang was gracious enough to off- set the payment of the land to the tune of over Three Hundred Million Naira.

“Like popular “Oliver Twinst”who ask for more, the civil servants  are appealing to the people’s governor to come to their aid  in commencing work on the land to aviod leaving it  fallow considering the insecurity that may likely associate with leaving it  unattended to.”

However  reminded the governor of the  ongoing  negotiation between the state government and the LGs in the state over salaries and trust on the governor that exercise seamlessly like the other negotiations as the government can be trusted.

 

In his speech, Governor  Mutfwang who doubled as the  Guest of honour at the event, lamented the resurgence of killings in some communities especially Bokkos and Bassa LG, condemned the act he described as unwarranted, unprovoked,callous and above all inhumanity to man.

Add that lose of lives and displacement of families from their ancestral homes has cast dark shadow over our celebration but refuse to be granded by heartless act of terror.

He assured that the security operatives are being intensify with strategic operation with federal government on the on-going  intelligence gathering which is  in progress.

We are also ensuring that the affected victims are receiving adequate medical attention ,food and reliefs materials even when the government is planning long team rehabilitation.

He also expressed his heartfeit sympathy to unfortunate inferno that gutted the burnt down  Jos Terminus Market where not fewer than Five Hundred shops where destroyed by  fire and million of naira lose.

However assured the victims of the inferno that the government will not leave them alone in this period of grieve and will take immediate steps in reducing  the impacts of the tragedy.

The governor further  disclosed that although the administration is not where he ought to be,but not certainly not where we use to be .

” We are not only rebuilding infrastructure, but trust in government, leadership and  in better tomorrow”.

” I want to face you anytime to tell you that I will never decieve you”.

 2025 Workers’ Day Celebration the Acting Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, Professor Shedrack Best, has extended  his felicitations and profound appreciation to the entire workforce of the university on this significant Workers’ Day.

Professor Best Felicitation message to the Workers’ around the globe and plateau state in particular is contained in press statement dated 1st May 2925 and signed by the office of the vice Chancellor of the institution and made available to Gnews online.

In his statement, Professor Best stated, “Today, we celebrate the dedication, resilience, and invaluable contributions of every single member of our esteemed institution. Your tireless efforts are the very bedrock upon which our university stands and thrives.”

He specifically recognized the pivotal roles played by the university’s unions: the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU).

The Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese His Grace  Mathew Hassan Kukah and  Bishop Philip Dung has admonished Very Rev.Fr. Fr.joseph Pam Nyam for more than three decades,and he can authoritatively vogue for his character,  passion and dedication for the work of the kingdom, Said is on this premise he have to put  other engagements on hold just to  attend the 50th Priesthood and 75th  birthday of a brother and a friend that I am well please in God’s Vineyard.

The Sokoto Bishop Diocese Hassan Mathew Kukah declosed this in his good will message to the celebrant, Very Rev. Fr.Joseph Pam Nyam in an interview with journalists during the 50th Priesthood and 75 Birthday of the celebrant very Rev.Fr. Nyam held at the Fatima Catholic Church 30th April 2025.

Kukah Said Nyam really deserve all the respects he is accorded today following the crowd that attended his celebration of Priesthood which coincide with his 75th birthday the reason l took it upon myself to attend  the occasion because he truly deserves it. 

“He’s someone who is very  good friend, who sacrifices, and who stands by his friends in both good times and bad times. And as you can see, we’ve never had a gathering or thanksgiving quite like this before. It is truly a sign of God’s greatness.” Kukah maintained.

“Well, younger priests have a lot to learn. The priesthood,like the legal or medical profession,requires learning from those who came before you. It’s now up to them to build on the foundation that has been laid.”

“God is the eternal priest, and the most important thing is for them to first imitate Jesus Christ. Then, they should learn from our seniors—those who have walked the path before. There’s so much to celebrate ahead, and we must all continue to make the sacrifices we’ve been called to make as priests.

Speaking earlier the officiating man of God at the occasion Rev.Father Philip Dung who took his Bible reading from the Book of Jeremiah  said before I concived you from your mother’s womb, I know whom you are,urged those who want to pitch him against God by feeding his head with contrary questions capable of defocusing him from the purpose of God upon his life,he should be wary of them.

Add that those are the people who  would be reminding you  things that would be unpleasant to your ear  just to doubt God’s purpose in your life.

“That means they must stay away from drugs and anything else that could lead to an unpleasant life. Engaging in such things distorts what God has planned for them.”

“God has given everyone a unique calling in life,a call to be housewives, teachers, doctors, or any number of things. My call was to be a priest, and I have stayed to that calling for  50 years.”

In his good will message, the Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang reiterated that  the celebration of 50 years of Priesthood  and 75 years birthday of Father Joseph Nyam  is not a common opportunity in an individual’s life time.

Governor Mutfwang prayed for God to grant the celebrant good  health and more wisdom to continue with the service in the vineyard of God.

The Governor represented by his Deputy , Josephine Piyo , thank the church and the celebrants for their prayers for Governor Mutfwang’s administration that have been sustaining the state and the government .

However Condoled with the people of the state over the reckless , unprovoked, callous killings of innocent  communities of Bokkos and Bassa LG in the state ,called for unity among the people of the state.

Hon. (Amb.) Daniel Asama Ago, Member Representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, has extended his heartfelt sympathy to the traders, entrepreneurs, and families affected by the devastating fire outbreak that swept through the iconic Jos Terminus Market in the early hours of today.

Describing the incidents as a big blow to the economy of state in general, pains and anguish to all and called for immediate interventions for the victims of the unfortunate inferno.

He described the incident as a deep distressing tragedy as Hon. Daniel emphasized that the loss transcends the destruction of property; it strikes at the very heart of Plateau State’s commercial lifeline. 

He expressed solidarity with the hundreds of hardworking citizens whose businesses, livelihoods, and dreams have been severely disrupted by the inferno.

“This is not just a market that went up in flames; this is the economic foundation of countless families, the pride of our state, and a hub of activity that has served Plateau and beyond for decades,” Hon. Daniel said.

He acknowledged the psychological and financial trauma the victims are currently enduring and called for swift action from both the Plateau State Government and federal agencies.

 He urged authorities to immediately assess the extent of the damage, provide relief to the affected traders, and prioritize the rebuilding of the market with modern safety standards.

In his words: “We must not only comfort those who have lost so much, but we must also learn from this. 

It is time to implement long-term preventive measures, including fire safety audits, emergency response training, and improved infrastructure to protect our markets and economic centers.”

He called on the public, private organizations, and well-meaning individuals to support relief efforts and stand with the victims during this painful time.

Victims of recent attacks in Kimakpa and Rike communities in Bassa local government areas of Plateau State have received relief Materials donated by a  businessman and Philanthropist, Mr. John Gamasaura Katura.

The items donated included, Bags of maize, bundles of roofing Sheets and cartons of indomie noodles, and the presentation was done through a delegation led by Pastor Yohana Dalla Magaji.

Delivering the condolence message at the Palace of Chief Luka Miri, the District Head of Kimakpa, on behalf of John Katura who is the Chief Executive Officer of JOKATU Property Development Limited, Abuja, Pastor Magaji condemned the killings of innocent people, commiserated with victims and called on the government and security agencies to take necessary actions to end the killings in Plateau in particular and the country at large.

Pastor Magaji stated that Katura was deeply saddened by the incident and condemned same in the strongest term, describing it as barbaric and prayed that such an incident will not happen again. 

He further commended the traditional ruler for his steadfastness in defending his people.  

Chief Luka Miri, in his response, expressed his appreciation to John Katura, the delegation and the Anaguta people for standing with the Rigwe Nation in their difficult moment.

 The traditional ruler also called for unity synergy among the natives to combat the menace of terrorists and land grabbers.

“What you people have done for us today will further strengthen the cordial relationship between the Irigwe and Anaguta nations. 

“Kindly extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr Katura and the Ujah Anaguta”. 

Chief Miri also extended his  appreciation to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, as well as other prominent sons and daughters of Plateau, for their support and solidarity since the incident occurred. He concluded by praying for Katura’s success in all his endeavors. 

At  the Zike Primary School  where the items were delivered, Pastor Yohanna Dalla Magaji while presenting them to the affected families, further extended his condolences to the victims on behalf of Katura saying that the philanthropist was deeply saddened upon hearing the news and felt compelled to share in their grief. 

He described the relationship between the people of Jos-North and Bassa as cordial and expressed confidence that relationship would grow even stronger. 

Pastor Magaji encouraged the community to remain united, trust in God, and look forward to better days ahead and prayed for divine comfort to the bereaved families and speedy recovery for the injured.  

In their separate responses, Yusuf Mwa Nze, Chairman, Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Kimakpa District, who doubles as Chairman, Committee on Relief Materials,  Ayo Joyce Sunday, Vice President, Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM), and Timothy Raku Ngwe, Chairman, Plateau Youth Council, Bassa chapter all appreciated Katura for the kind gesture and prayed God to showers abundant blessings upon him.  

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to John Katura saying, the kind gesture will go a long way in alleviating their suffering.

A 35 year old Wiki who lost her 37 year old Raja to the attackers was full of gratitude to John Katura. According to her, “I have heard of the philanthropic activities through my niece who is into buying and selling of food items and lives in Unguwan Rukuba.

“I never knew that I would one day, be a beneficiary of his philanthropic gesture. May God continue to bless and keep him for us”.

Another victim, Jennifer Moses who lost her father and three of her brothers, said, “May God bless Mr. John, keep him for us and enlarged his coast”.

Aboro Moses lost two relatives (his younger brother and wife of his elder brother) in addition to property destroyed. 

In his words, what John Katura did will not go unrewarded. “Just as the assailants will receive the reward for wicked acts, so also will John Katura and all those who reach out to us in our moment of grief and distress will equally receive their reward”.

The Chairperson of African Democratic Congress (ADC),in plateau state , Ambassador Mrs. Hannatu Gagara has expressed fear over  the faith of Nigeria Democracy following recent  Tsunami like “Defections” of some people , group from particular political parties to the other unabated.

Ambassador Gagara said if the frightening political development is not stop ,is going to have devastating effects on the political system in the country before 2027 General Elections , particularly now that the “Defections” is pointing towards promoting one Party system.

The Chairperson of ADC in the state who doubled as high ranking member of Inter-Party Advistory Council (IPAC), in the state  , expressed obvious fear in a statement dated 27th April,2025 personally signed by her office and electronically made available to Gnews in Jos.

 She asked a very pertinent question regarding the upsurge of decamps bedeviling the country political landscape like, one may ask,  “This Defections, In whose Interest?”.

She further add  ,”Even though Nigeria has had a history of defections of party members from one political party to another, right from the colonial Era,  the current development portends danger for our democracy,as the attitudes of these politicians questions their integrity.”

Stressed though, Defection is part of politics and democratic exigencies,  but when its used for self serving, and greed, then it’s no longer principle of democracy at play. 

“When you see politicians viewing politics as not a mission to serve,  but a profession ,for sure they have the spirit of self serving.”

Ambassador  Hannatu  further expressed that  party defections may have negative effects on democracy particularly in a country like Nigeria. 

” It can hinder democratic growth by eroding public trust in political institutions and even undermining the credibility of the political system.”She maintained. 

 ” I must equally  point out that these mass “Defections” will  have gross negative effects on the nation polity , with grievous consequences because elected officials may have the perception of only interested in their personal interest.” 

” It can also lead  to a decline in quality of governance,  as elected officials can prioritize their personal interests over the needs of  their people.”

Demonstrating his resolute commitment to inclusive leadership and unity in diversity, Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Saturday attended two significant cultural festivals in the Plateau Central Senatorial District, the Puus Kaat of the Mwaghavul Nation and the Puusdung of the Ngas Nation.

Addressing a cheering crowd at the Mangu Mini Stadium, where the Mwaghavul Nation proudly showcased its rich cultural heritage, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep gratitude to the people for their steadfast support, resilience, and peaceful disposition.

“I thank God for the Mwaghavul Nation, a resilient people, a people who cannot be silenced, cannot be depressed; a people who know who they are, what they want, and the God they serve. You understand your responsibility at a time like this when leadership has been entrusted to the Mwaghavul Nation.

“We cannot afford to fail the people of Plateau State. This is our time on duty. It is my prayer, focus, and commitment that under the leadership of a Mwaghavul son, Plateau will experience peace, prosperity, and become a state of pride and reckoning. It is no accident that we are at the heart of Plateau, it is so we can hold the state together,” he declared.

Governor Mutfwang appreciated the Mwaghavul people and other communities for their continuous support and assured them that development projects have only just begun in Mangu and across the state. He noted that several road projects are underway, with Mangu Local Government Area set to benefit significantly.

The Governor urged the people to maintain peace and unity, emphasizing that only through peaceful coexistence can sustainable and impactful development be achieved.

He also extended gratitude to distinguished guests, including the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas; Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal; and Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, among others, for their support and solidarity at the festival.

Earlier in the day, Governor Mutfwang addressed a mammoth crowd at the Pankshin Mini Stadium during the 2025 Puusdung Cultural Festival of the Ngas Nation.

In his remarks, he emphasized the urgent need for unity among the people of Plateau State to achieve the collective aspiration for development. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting brotherhood, peaceful coexistence, and unity among all ethnic nationalities.

The Governor cautioned against the politicization of cultural celebrations, urging young people to channel their energies into productive ventures that would uplift society.

He commended Nde Jika Golit, the Ngolong Ngas and President of the Pankshin/Kanke Traditional Council, and the sons and daughters of the Ngas Nation for their unwavering support. He called for even greater collaboration in the pursuit of peace and development.

“I am here out of respect for the Ngolong Ngas and the entire Ngas Nation. I have come to celebrate and encourage you for reviving this remarkable cultural festival. As a government, we are determined to revive and promote our cultural heritage as part of our tourism agenda.

“I appeal to all to safeguard the values and customs of Ngas land and ensure that this festival of great significance remains free from partisan politics,” he said.

Governor Mutfwang further emphasized, “The times demand that Plateau people set aside their differences and forge greater unity for our collective development. The Plateau State Government, in collaboration with key health partners including the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and Malaria Consortium, has officially flagged off a joint health campaign to commemorate the 2025 World Malaria Day, Africa Vaccination Week, and the National Immunization Plus Days. 

The combined event, held at Crystal Hall, Crispan Hotel in Rayfield, Jos, is part of the state’s drive under the IMPACT Project—Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong, led the opening with a strong message advocating for a more integrated health approach across Plateau State.

 He stressed the importance of sector-wide coordination, where women and children can access multiple health services—such as antenatal care, vaccination, and malaria treatment—under one roof.

 He also expressed gratitude to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and First Lady Barr. Helen Mutfwang for their continuous commitment to healthcare development, as well as to partners and frontline health workers for their critical roles in implementing the state’s health agenda.

Highlighting the state’s progress, Professor E. Envuladu revealed that malaria prevalence in Plateau has decreased from 23% in 2018 to 15% in 2024. She attributed this success to sustained efforts like distribution of insecticide-treated nets, seasonal malaria prevention, and community engagement. 

She advocated for the adoption of new tools, such as the malaria vaccine, and called for sustained investment in research, strong health systems, and inclusive public health education.

Officially launching the integrated campaign, First Lady Helen Mutfwang described the joint initiative as a major step towards achieving better health outcomes through the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAP), which ensures unified planning, budgeting, and implementation. 

She flagged off the 2025 National Immunization Plus Days scheduled for April 26–29, where health workers will conduct house-to-house vaccinations for children aged 0–5 years. 

She also noted that African Vaccination Week, which began April 24, targets hard-to-reach communities in five local government areas including Jos East, Bassa, and Langtang South.

Speaking on the theme of this year’s World Malaria Day, “Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite,”Mrs. Mutfwang urged residents to actively participate in malaria prevention efforts through the use of treated mosquito nets, environmental cleanliness, and early treatment. 

She highlighted Plateau State’s success in achieving 96% household net coverage during the 2024 distribution, with 93% net availability verified by E-Health Africa.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Caroline Panglang Dafur, appealed to mothers across Plateau to take advantage of free malaria testing and ensure children receive their vaccinations. She assured that the health outreach would reach grassroots communities.

In a goodwill message, Dr. Lucienne Dempouo, WHO/Polio NEOC Representative, praised Plateau State’s gains in immunization and malaria control. She encouraged a continued inclusive approach to healthcare delivery to ensure no child is left behind.

Chairman of the House Committee on Health, Hon. Nanbol Listick, emphasized the role of preventive healthcare, sanitation, and nutrition in improving community health. He pledged legislative support for increased funding and better infrastructure for the state’s health sector.

Dr. Patrick Akor, representing UNICEF, reported the vaccination of 36,970 children and the procurement of over 1.4 million vaccine doses for Plateau. He called for stronger government investment, security support, and parental commitment to child immunization, especially in remote areas.

Also speaking, Dr. Mbwas, State Coordinator of the Malaria Consortium, reported that over four million children have benefited from seasonal malaria prevention interventions in Plateau State since 2021. He reaffirmed the organization’s support and stated that a malaria-free Plateau is achievable through collective effort.

The event underscored a unified commitment across government, health partners, and communities to tackle preventable diseases and improve health outcomes in Plateau State.

With  insecurity challenges bedeviling some communities in plateau state ,the governor of the state Barrister Caleb Mutfwang is not resting on his oars to ensure  affected communities return to farm as  farming season  sets in .

For Governor Mutfwang to realize this, and not to jeopardize the security of the people, has advocated for Communal Living of all the Plateau citizens which was practiced in the days of Nehimiah in the Bible, biblically referred to as “Communal Living”where everybody do things in common.

The Governor made the advocacy when  Christians in the state staged peaceful walk to Governor’s House Little Rayfield in Jos South Local Government to register their unwarranted, unprovoked, callous, heinous and gruesome Killings of innocent citizens in some communities of Bokkos,Mangu  and Bassa LGA of the state, to summit worded letter through the Governor to Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for immediate provision of security’s Agencies to forstall further lose of lives and properties in Plateau ,Benue ,Edo,Ondo and other state currently under fulani’s furious and unabated  attacks. 

 The Governor said the Communal Living of the people of plateau is very necessary at this trying period of security challenges the state is grampling with especially now the farming season is around the corner 

Stressed that the people of the community will be going to farm in  group , while some are working, other will be on the watch out,to frustrate our enemies who are bent in plunging the state in another round of food crisis by the resurgence of sporadic killings in some communities when planting season is around the corner.

“We will operate like the days of Nehimiah in the Bible,we will go to farm in our numbers, some will be farming ,some will be watching their back.”

Appealed to the youths of plateau to all raise to the challenges as they are the strength of plateau state,as the governor thank God that the killers are not invisible, that they are not ghost but are human beings,they can be seen, reported and resisted which can only be done when we are in our right senses.

Lamented the major vices working against our youth ,which is “Drug Addiction” but appeal to religious leaders,pastors of various denominational Churches to be deliberate in reaching out to the youths in the state.

He reiterated his administration temporary suspension of artican mining in the state contrary to the wrong interpretation that mining activities is totally ban in the state.

He explained that the Suspension of illegal and unprofessional mining in the state is for the safety of plateau youth who labour day and night , but earn less, the act Mutfwang said  Government under my watch will not fold arm and watch our youth explorted as worker deserves her wages.

 Disclosed that last year 2024, the state lose more able body youths to illegal mining  the numbers which doubled those killed in Bokkos and Bassa LGA put together and no body reported it or speak about it.

Said the reasons for the temporary suspension of the local and crude mining in the state, is to allow   government to inject modern technology which enbrace safety of Artican mininers particularly the youths in the state. 

He assured those involved in the senseless , unprovoked , unwarranted and callous killings of innocent communities in some parts of the state , that the government will not sweep it under the carpet, vowed to bring any person, persons or group to Justice no matter how highly place in the society as against the past where those indicted will face the wrath of the law.

“We will seek Justice for the death, beyond that,we have been discussing with Mr. president, Heads of securies Agencies on how to strategize to protect our communities”.

He promised the president of Cocin Amos Mozie and the leadership of denominational Churches in the state that he will not only transmit their message to  Mr president,but to follow through that those found calpable did not go scout free like in the time past.

As plateau state killings continued unabated,the Governor of the state, Barr.Caleb Mutfwang is compelled to ask some rhetorical question like : Why Plateau State ?,Who are behind the callous, barbaric,and inhuman killings of innocent people?,Were are  they come from?,and what did they hope to achieve for splitting the blood of innocent people .

Governor Mutfwang asked these plethoras of questions begging for answers during the emergency stakeholders holders meetings held at the New Government House Little Rayfield in Jos South local government of the state.

The meeting which witnessed the attendance of past governors of the state except Senator Bako lalong ,also had in attendance all the federal law makers representing the state in the National Assembly ,and other critical stakeholders in the state.

He started his speech by thanking members of the National Assembly for turning up for the meeting which shows indeed, that they are true sons of Plateau.

And also appreciate all who are in attendance  for the emergency stakeholders meeting that has become a necessity.

“You are aware of the events of the last three weeks, which have once again pushed our state to the front burner of national discourse—unfortunately, for the wrong reasons”.

The governor reminiscence back when he was officially declared on the 21st of March 2023, and recalled that suddenly a reign of terror emerged in a way we had never experienced before, particularly in Mangu and Riyom Local Government Areas. 

Two days after being sworn in, I convened a Security Council meeting so that we could begin to address and contain the situation.

“We engaged in a lot of discussions with communities and their leaders. Eventually, things calmed down—until again, we woke up to a ruthless attack on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and into Boxing Day in Bokkos. We were hit with another round of terror that claimed not less than 150 lives in one sweep”.

Reminded them of the visit of  the Vice President who came down after he had gone to Lagos to brief Mr. President. 

We returned together, and some of you were at the airport when he addressed stakeholders. Thereafter, we began to take steps and put strategies in place that we thought would help bring peace to the state.

However thank God that from January 2024 till February 2025, even though there were sporadic incidents here and there, we did not experience anything close to the magnitude of what has recently occurred—first in a community called Ruwi in Bokkos, and then it spread to other parts. 

Just over 10 days ago, it extended into Bassa Local Government Area. At the last count, we have probably lost well over 100 people.

This has not only disturbed Mr. President—it’s true, Mr. President called me for a briefing. I gave him the brief, and since then, we have been working round the clock with security agencies to bring the situation under control.

But let me put this in context: this crisis did not begin during my tenure. I recall, even before I got involved in politics, that there were already issues of insecurity. These eventually led President Obasanjo to declare a state of emergency on the Plateau during the tenure of His Excellency, Chief Joshua Dariye. 

Moving forward to the tenure of Governor Jang, we also know the kind of tensions that erupted. Even then, a state of emergency was contemplated, though it never saw the light of day.

 In the last administration, particularly in Bassa, I’m told the community documented all the attacks and deaths that took place between 2015 to date. Many would be shocked to learn that nearly 3,000 people were lost, particularly in the Miango axis.

Fast forward to today: if you search online, you’ll find that the dominant impression about Plateau State is that it is no longer a land of peace. Since then, many commissions of inquiry have been set up to unravel the causes of this cycle of violence that has plagued our state.

Of course, if we begin to count the losses we’ve suffered—right from the time the Jos Main Market was destroyed till now—we’ll find that even our food production has been on the decline. 

Recently, we began to take stock of farmlands our people can no longer cultivate because doing so comes at the risk of their lives.

Today, there is no senatorial zone in this state that is without its share of conflict. In Wase, for instance, a grazing reserve was developed as far back as the days of Northern Nigeria. Maybe Hon. Wase will help us trace when that reserve was last put to use, but certainly, for the last 10 years or more, that area has been inaccessible.

Kanam has also come under siege. The intelligence we are getting from Panda is very disturbing—it has become a haven for kidnappers and a sort of stock exchange for ransom transactions. Many of the kidnappings that took place in Shendam have also been linked to Panda.

Perhaps the only local governments in the Southern Zone that have been somewhat spared are Langtang South, Langtang North, and Mikang. 

Coming to the Central Zone, you know that Bokkos and Mangu have been severely hit, particularly in the last two years. Bokkos has been a recurring decimal for over a decade, and Mangu has now joined. The crisis has even spread into Pankshin. Kanke is not spared either—reports of kidnappings there are becoming alarming.

In the Northern Zone, perhaps the only local government that might appear relatively calm is Jos North. But that does not mean Jos North has been spared. One of the most dangerous cultic groups—Sarasuka—operates there, and we have been trying to tackle them. That cult group has taken many lives.

Yelwa, bordering Riyom, and those border communities in Jos South have come under tremendous siege recently—not to mention areas that have experienced long-term instability.

In essence, Plateau is under siege.

Why us? Who is behind this? Where are they coming from? Who is sponsoring them? What is their aim?

These are questions I thought I should not answer alone. I felt I should gather the leaders of Plateau so we can put our heads together. For how long shall this continue?

Yes, as Governor, I know that I owe the people of this state the responsibility of working in tandem with federal security agencies to bring about peace. We have never rested on our oars. Apart from engaging community leaders, we have also made kinetic interventions—supporting security agencies with logistics to help them carry out their constitutional responsibilities. 

Yet, we are still not out of the woods.

Perhaps one reason this has persisted is because we have, for a long time, failed to come together as Plateau people to speak with one voice. When this crisis started, it was seen as a Tarok problem. Later, it became a Berom problem. Today, none of us has been spared—but it seems we are still acting like every man for himself.

I want to thank several of you who have recently spoken in the media like true sons of Plateau. I appreciate those who have chosen to set aside political, religious, and ethnic differences to speak for Plateau. Our people are bleeding. Our people are crying. Our people are weeping.

Despite our best efforts, we have not yet been able to focus on our main objective in governance. For me, my main objective in government is to break the cycle of poverty and lift our people into prosperity. But we cannot move forward unless we tame this elephant in the room that has haunted our state for the last two to three decades.

I believe the time has come. We must rise together and ensure that this blessed land God gave us is preserved and that we maximize the blessings embedded in it. I don’t know any state more richly blessed in mineral resources, arable land, and hospitable people. But we must restrategize.

While I am open to suggestions—because I don’t possess a monopoly of wisdom—I also believe we have a duty to speak up. When I came on board, the dominant narrative at national and international levels was that Plateau is suffering from a clash between farmers and herders.

I ask you, sir, is that true?

I have tried to debunk that narrative. But if my efforts are misinformed, please correct me. Otherwise, how can bandits occupy the Wase grazing reserve, and someone calls that a clash? How can they be in forests in Kanam, and someone says it is a clash? 

When it happened in December 2023 in Bokkos, when gunmen attacked defenseless communities with sophisticated weapons on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, what clash was that?

Isn’t it time we all united to reject this falsehood?

I look forward to the day when—regardless of religion or ethnicity—any of us is attacked and we all speak with one voice, saying: what is happening on the Plateau is nothing short of genocide perpetrated by terrorists.

If we don’t speak with one voice, many advisers will mislead Mr. President into believing we are the aggressors, or that we are intolerant. We must come together.

This is the time to show that you are a true lover of Plateau. This is the time to hold one another’s hands, not throw each other under the bus. There is enough time between now and 2027. When the time comes, we politicians will do what we know how to do. But if there’s no Plateau, who will we represent?

Let’s make hay while the sun shines. Let’s arise and preserve this land, so that we can have a future. I know there’s a lot on my shoulders, but I can’t do it alone. Every leader wants to be assured that his people are with him—that we are in this together.

I have no other vested interest but to ensure that not an inch of this land that God gave our forefathers is lost. I ask you to join in preserving this heritage.

Let’s think together. Let’s act together. Let’s speak together so the world knows that Plateau has reached a turning point. Let’s reclaim this land, preserve it, and nurture it for the benefit of future generations.

Let it not be on our watch, as leaders, that the inheritance of our children and grandchildren is lost—simply because we couldn’t speak with one voice.

Ladies and gentlemen, my leaders, I appeal to you: please let’s talk freely and agree that there is a way forward. I will listen to your counsel, your suggestions, and your inputs.

Be rest assured: standing before you is nothing more than a servant to push your agenda—the agenda of Plateau.

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Christians across the world on the occasion of the Easter celebration which commemorates Christ’s redemptive sacrifice and His triumph over sin and death.

In his Easter message, Governor Mutfwang described the celebration as the cornerstone of the Christian faith, centered on the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.

“Each Easter offers us a sacred opportunity to reflect on the foundation of our Christian faith—the death, burial, and glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a time for renewal, deep introspection, and unwavering hope,” the Governor stated.

He added, “Let us never forget the immeasurable price paid on the Cross of Calvary, where Christ bore our sins and suffered so we might receive forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. His resurrection assures us of victory over sin, despair, and every adversity.”

Governor Mutfwang urged Christians to embrace the spirit of Easter with renewed hope, praying for the Holy Spirit to reveal the profound power and mystery of Christ’s resurrection. As Christians all over the world Celebrate Easter to mark the Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ ,John Gamasaura Katura has admonished Christians in Plateau State to reminiscence on the reason for the celebration which is majorly for sober reflection.

John Katura’s message to the Christians in the state is contained in his Easter message to the Christians faithful ,personally signed by him.

He said Easter is a sacred season that reminds us of the power of love, the beauty of sacrifice, and the eternal hope we have in renewal and resurrection.

 Just as Christ triumphed over death, may we too rise above every challenge with faith, unity, and resilience.

However,encourage all Christians to take advantage of this moment to pray for our leaders and our country for peace and security, particularly for Plateau state, which has witnessed a resurgence of violent attacks on communities.

“Let this Easter rekindle in us the spirit of brotherhood, peace, and forgiveness. Let our homes be filled with laughter, our hearts with gratitude, and our community with harmony.” 

“May this season bring divine blessings upon our land, strengthen our bonds, and guide us all toward a future of lasting peace and prosperity.”

The Chief Executive Officier Of Human Virology in Nigeria Professor Patrick Sunday Dakum said though the death of his first son of the family of three ,Daniel Dakum who died at his  prime age of 22 years is a harrowing and excruciating pain he would not wish any patients to witness.

The professor of medicine  however said aside Daniel making his way right with God, he had used his few years he send on the planet Earth to touch lives and humanity which it is an indication that  it is not the numbers of years you spend on Earth that counts,but your positive impact on people directly or indirectly.

Dakum who was the former governorship  Candidate in plateau state under Labour Party (LP),in 2023 general election showered the accolades on the late Mr Daniel Dakum during the lunching of posthumous Foundation to keep his name alive.

Professor Dakum said when seatdown and think of something that encourage you in life, our mind go back to somebody that have make impact in a short period,just 22years old.

Add that the impact Daniel  made within that short period of time,the people that pass on at 60 ,80 years did not make such impact.

He said when Daniel died,the family where shocked with some of the testimony people where saying about him.

It was on this premise will looked at it and asked ourselves how can will as family to the late Daniel to for the dream he believed in to continue. 

Because we want through excruciating pains when he died, we come to the conclusion because the pains we went through, but God  has heals us and God will continue to heal us.

Revealed that the Dakums decided that we would look up to the things Mrs Daniel  admired to Immortilize him and follow up in those areas.

Promised that what happened during the lunching of the Foundation ,is little of the iceberg where undisclosed amount of money was given to the former secondary of the deceased person to install solar lights in the school environment so that any time lights from the NEPA is tempered with, the school can still be lit up.

Wheel Chairs where also distributed to the physically challenge persons.

He said what the family is doing today is a little of the iceberg of what the foundation is set up to do,so the foundation is established to continue the legacy of Mr Daniel Dakum,in :

Education ,we are supporting the former secondary of Daniel with undisclosed token to install solar power in the school.

Also in the area of sports where the late Daniel like when he was a live which is one key area of social development especially for the young people.

Added that the Foundation is also going to ensure that widows are well taken care of.

“Although my wife had started the process for quite a while now, the numbers of the widows has Risen to 166″my wife have been supporting the widows.And the honourable Minister for the humanitarian affairs Netewe Yelwad had promise  to take over a good significant number of them.

Dakum also revealed that the governor of plateau state , Caleb Mutfwang also indicated interest on the foundation but quick to disclosed to journalist that the Foundation is non political, but hope to cover it mission.

However , pointed out that as an NGO they will be dealing with the federal government pray and hope

That they flung their doors  open to receive us.

Earlier ,the wife of Dakum narrated the last time he spent with Daniel pryed to God that he was changed person before his demise.

As he gave his life to God.

Following Gruesome Killings of innocent people in some communities of Bassa and bokkos local government of plateau state, John Katura has condemned the Acts in strong term which he described as gruesome , barbaric and man in humanity to man, commended the governor for his resilience and called  diverse ethnic groups in the state to join ranks together for Unity and to protect the state heritage.

Katura commended the governor of the state Caleb Mutfwang for the proactive steps taken to nip the situation on board.

John said in view of the current security upheavals confronting Plateau State, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims of heinous attacks in Bokkos and Bassa communities leading to the deaths of over100 people, mostly, women and children and property worth hundreds million of Naira destroyed.

Further commended His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for his prompt response and measures taken to avert further attacks in addition to providing relief materials to survivors.

“These barbaric attacks must be condemned in strong terms by every sane and rational mind because they are a threat to peace and stability of Plateau State.

It’s no longer suspicion but an established fact that the incessant massacres on the Plateau is an orchestrated and well-coordinated plan to impoverish and intimidate the people towards taking over their ancestral land”.

Add that in spite of sufficient evidence pointing to the identities and motives of these killers, yet, some so-called leaders have  continued to shield them by spreading false narratives of either farmers-herders conflicts or communal clashes.

Disclosed that is very glaring that the incessant killings on the Plateau for almost two decades are driven by expansionist agenda and not the factors mentioned above as often portrayed  by the enemies of Plateau State.

Stressed that it is imperative that we unite as a people. This is a time for unity not division. Thought we may be affiliated to different political parties, I hold strongly that our safety and  peace must always come first.

“We must therefore,  rise above party lines and other sentiments and work hand-in-hand for the collective good of our land.”

“I am also told that some arrests have been made of the suspected killers. Kudos to our security operatives. All eyes now are on the government for an open, transparent and accelerated prosecution of the suspects in a competent court of jurisdiction”.

“This is necessary taking into cognizance the fact that over the years, some arrests of suspects of previous massacres have been made and the suspects taken to Abuja and thereafter, nothing has been heard or said about them.”

“What happened in these communities is man’s inhumanity to man.”

“My heart goes out to all the affected families”.

“I cannot imagine the pain and heartache you’re feeling at the moment. However. My thoughts and prayers are with you”. He maintain.

Hardly had the dust and fury of the terrorist attacks across several communities (Murwi, Mangor, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, Tadai, and the surrounding villages) in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria, settled down when another tragic round of attacks took place in Zike and Kimakpa communities in Kwall District of Irigwe Chiefdom, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the loss of over 50 people, including women, children, the aged, men, and even the sick. Nothing was spared in these sordid terrorist attacks (houses, foodstuffs, livestock, vehicles, and so forth). 

As usual, Christians in Need Foundation (CiN) was swift in reaching out to the affected communities two days after this heinous attack on the Irigwe Chiefdom in Kwall District of Bassa LGA on Palm Sunday.

 At midnight on Palm Sunday, Sunday/Monday, April 14/15, 2025, when the members of the community were asleep, Fulani mercenaries over 200 attacked the community.

 They began by slaughtering people house after house. Although they had guns, they chose to use swords and machetes to mow down their victims so that gunshots would not raise an alarm. 

After they had murdered most of their victims, some members of the communities were able to call for help in the neighbouring communities. Vigilantes came, and a gun battle ensued. About 53 people were killed in the aftermath of calculated mass killings. 

Facts that have emerged indicate that the terrorists thought that Palm Sunday was Eater because before now, there had been rumours that there were going to be attacks across Plateau State at Easter in much the same way as the 2023/2024 Christmas Eve attacks. 

The terrorists appear bent on ensuring Christians do not celebrate Eater in peace. This reign of terrorists appears never-ending because they are as determined as ever.

In the aftermath of these, the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang, made a shocking revelation that over 64 communities in Plateau State have been taken over by terrorists. 

Even a dire discovery was made of late of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) cells operating in Plateau State, which represents an alarming expansion of Nigeria’s insurgency in the North-Central Belt of the country.

CiN, Nigeria, delivered relief materials to the affected victims through one of their chiefs. The materials had to be delivered to one of the Irigwe community chiefs because, at the time of this delivery, some of the victims who had fled were yet to return to the community. 

CiN, Nigeria delivered materials included Mats, plastic cups, Bags of maize and garri, and bales of children’s clothing (between 5-10 years old).

 The chief, on behalf of the community, commended CiN for its prompt response to this humanitarian emergency. The visit by CiN team to Kwall in Bassa LGA included a visit to the mass grave for the victims where the team together with the community prayed for the souls of the departed.

The Inter-Party Advistory Council (IPAC), has Congratulates Christians on the celebration of Easter which mark the “Death and Resurrection” of Lord Jesus Christ

As IPAC which is the ambrella body of all political parties charged the Christians not only reduce the Easter Celebration to merry making, and to engage in other social vices,but use the period for Sober Reflection for the Death and Resurrection of Jusus Christ for the redemption of mankind from sin which the Celebration centered around.

The good Friday marking the Death Jesus Christ which took place over two thousand years ago and his resurrection on Easter Monday, is not point for mourning and frowning because Christ is already seated at the Right Hand side of God where he has been interceding for us and granting all that we need for godliness and life.

So i use this period of Easter to admonish Christians to use the Good Friday to reminisce over their lives and relationship with God and make amends where necessary and build also on where there is fruitful growth as we are commanded by Apostle Peter in 2 Peter Chapter 1verse 5-7.

“Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness charity” 2Peter 1:5-7.

However charged them to celebrate with within the confine and aviod act capable of putting the state into more unrest rather rededicate the state to God’s intervention and expose those bent on bringing it into flash point of war and crisis.

The Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, Professor Patrick Sunday Dakum, has Felicitate with Christians as they mark the 2025 Good Friday, and called on them to perpetually value and abide by the sacrifice made by Christ for the redemption of mankind from sin. 

Professor Dakum’s felicitation Easter message to all Christians is contained in a press statement date Friday18th April,2025 signed by his Media Consultant Shabul Mazadu and made available to Gnews in Jos.

According to Dakum Good Friday is commemorating the death of Christ which took place over two thousand years ago and his resurrection on Easter Monday, saying there is no point mourning and frowning because Christ is already seated at the Right Hand side of God where he has been interceding for us and granting all that we need for godliness and life; saying commemorating Christ’s death does not make us acceptable to him, but believing in his death and resurrection and in his blood that washes our sins from a sincere heart, and whole heartedly all the time just as Christ said, “It’s not him that call me Lord Lord will enter my Father’s kingdom, but he that does his will” Matthew 7:21.  

Dakum admonished Christians to use the Good Friday to reminisce over their lives and relationship with God and make amends where necessary and build also on where there is fruitful growth as we are commanded by Apostle Peter saying,

Dakum beseeches Christians to use the Good Friday to sincerely, ardently and humbly intercede for the country and our leaders both traditional, spiritual and the political for unity, peace, progress and prosperity to thrive and for God to grant them the courage, wisdom, knowledge and understanding to discharge their duties with verity and patriotism in the fear of God.

He appeals for special prayers for Plateau, Benue, Zamfara and all other states under attacks for God’s divine intervention for the restoration of security and peace.

 The Acting Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, Professor Shedrack Best has led a delegation to the Abuja headquarters of the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) to explore potential collaborations in research, best practices, and global network advancement. 

The visit, aimed to forge a strong partnership between the two institutions.

The meeting with IHVN Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Patrick Dakum, Professor Shedrack Best highlighted that PLASU has established Faculty of Health Sciences, encompassing programs in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, and Public Health Sciences.

 He also revealed the University’s recent approval to commence  Medical Sciences program, with student admissions slated for the upcoming academic session billed to commence in October/November 2025.

The Acting Vice Chancellor specifically requested opportunities for PLASU faculty members to collaborate with IHVN on research initiatives and for students to gain valuable practical experience through attachments and training within the institute. 

 He appealed to IHVN to consider donating a laboratory to PLASU or equipping an existing one to bolster the University’s research capabilities.

Receiving the PLASU delegation Dr. Dakum  expressed the institute’s keen interest in establishing a strong relationship with the University. 

He acknowledged the current challenges of dwindling donor funding due to international policies but reaffirmed IHVN’s commitment to enhancing its services. 

 Dr. Dakum pointed out that the initial groundwork for IHVN was laid in Plateau State, making a partnership with PLASU is a natural and mutually beneficial progression.

The IHVN CEO pledged technical support to PLASU and expressed openness to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that could encompass various areas of collaboration. 

These include the integration of PLASU staff into the directing teams of specific IHVN programs, access to IHVN’s quality assurance protocols and laboratory equipment maintenance expertise, the potential for IHVN staff to serve as faculty support for training at a future PLASU satellite campus potentially located within IHVN, joint grant application endeavors, and access to IHVN’s network for national and international accreditation of PLASU’s laboratory operations and services.

The visit signifies a proactive step by PLASU to enhance its research capacity and provide valuable opportunities for its faculty and students in the crucial field of human virology, while also strengthening ties with a prominent national health institution.

IPAC made up of all Political Parties in the state regretted that for over two decades, Plateau communities have been targets of coordinated annihilation by people whose identities have been concealed for political correctness, while countless dreams were cut short in their primes in the heinous acts.

While the body is extending it heartfelt sympathy to communities affected by the recent relapse of security breach in Bokkos and Bassa Local Government Areas, IPAC challenged securities operatives to redouble their efforts in order to bring the recurrence of attacks in the state to an enduring end.

It commiserate with the government and people of Plateau State for the unfortunate developments, while commending the governor for promptly responding to the emergency situation by taking measures likely to stem the tides of attacks in the state, assured him of IPAC support to ensure lasting solutions on the unprovoked, unwarranted heinous killings of innocence communities.

Further charged both the federal and state governments to synergize in their efforts to guarantee the security of lives and property of Plateau people and other Nigerians in all segments of the country.

He clarifies that, it could not be a coincidence that similar antics is about playing out now that the 2027 general elections is around the corner.

Admonishes President Ahmed Tinubu to find concrete solution to the killing spreed across Nigeria before his adversaries achieve their nefarious aim of making political capital out of the nation’s security situation.

Suggesting that implementing the white papers on the various commissions of inquiry set up at different times to unravel the causes of upheavals in Plateau State will go a long way in arresting the resurgence of attacks particularly in Plateau State.

The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina psc, in light of the upcoming Easter celebrations, has revitalised the security architecture throughout the State by deploying additional personnel to flashpoints and strategic positions throughout the State. In the same vein, our personnel from the State Intelligence Department (SID) have been deployed across all the 17 Local Government Areas in the State for proper intelligence gathering.

The Plateau Police helmsman wishes to warn all mischief makers and criminally minded individuals who may want to take advantage of the tension in some parts of the State  to foment trouble and disrupt the fragile peace currently being enjoyed in the State to desist from such, as the Command under his watch will not hesitate to deal decisively with them in accordance with the extant laws. 

The CP calls on all Christian faithfuls to emulate the peaceful lifestyle of the Lord Jesus Christ as they commemorate his death and resurrection.

Base on the foregoing, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police urges residents of the State to revert to the directives of the State Government on the ban of activities of commercial Tricycle operators popularly known as Keke-Napep and motorcycle in the entire State, while the total ban on the operation of commercial motorcycles also known as “Okada” within the Jos-Bukuru metropolis remains in force. 

The CP further urges members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement agents, adhere to all regulations and directives, and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or call the following

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Operations *DIG B.D Kwazhi, mni* in company of the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command and members of his management team, today visited Zamura community, Bassa LGA of Plateau State to sympathize with the people of Maraban Dare Gajaule village following the death of thirty three (33) cows through poisoning by yet to be identified persons in the late hours of yesterday, April 16, 2025 after his visit to Zikke, Kimakpa village.

During the visit, the DIG commiserated with the cow owner and other members of the community. He admonished them not to take laws into their hands, just as he assured that the perpetrators will be arrested and prosecuted. 

The DIG also had a Stakeholders meeting with the sarki who also came to felicitate with the owner of the cows and the Ardo, chairman of Miyeti Allah and other elders of the community as part of efforts to mitigate possible hostility, maintain peace and bring security tension within the area under control. He emphasized the need for communities to live in peace and harmony irrespective of their diversity.

In his remarks, the Bassa Local Government Chairman, Dr. Joshua Riti stressed the need for peaceful coexistence amongst  different tribes in Bassa. He condemned the act, pacified the herders and appealed for calm as law enforcement agencies are already on top of the situation.

The villagers expressed their concerns, which the DIG promised to convey same to the Inspector General of Police for further action.

Gov.Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has humbled the immediate past Governor of plateau state Simon Bako Lalong, over his comment about the establishment of plethoras of equipped hospitals across the state during his administration to ensure  citizens of the state get easy access to quality Health care.

As Governor Mutfwang said he takes time out to visit most those hospitals claimed to have been commissioned by the Former Governor ,now Senator Federal Republic of Nigeria Representing Southern Senatorial Zone of Plateau state  Simon Bako Lalong  on assumption of office as governor of the state,but discovered the claimed hospitals are merely existing as structures without  single equipment that  qualified them as one.

Governor Mutfwang’s  reaction to the Former Governor,s comments during the  maiden Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Business Coalition for Health (PBC Health Summit held at the Crispan Hotel Along Old Airport Road, Jos, plateau State, Thursday 10th March 2025.

Senator Lalong who is  among the Awardees by Nigeria Medical Association Business Coalition Summit  in his speech told the audience how  administration under his watch set up well equipped hospitals across the state  for easy access to quality  health care by the citizens of the state.

As the Former Governor now Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria use the fora to appreciate NMA for choosing him among those bestowed with the merits Award for his tremendous work to uplift health sectors in the state during the period under review.

In quick reaction ,the Governor of plateau State Barrister Caleb Mutfwang who doubled as one of the Awardees said it’s good to put record straight contrary to the insinuations of the immediate governor of the state Simon Bako Lalong of his administration’s Achievements during the period under review.

“Contrary to the Claim of my dear brother Senator Bako Lalong on his administration building and equipping hospitals across the state during his administration,I beg to disagree with him in that aspect.”

“I have the course to stop by to check at one of the hospitals located in Riyom on my way from Abuja to get first hand knowledge of the level of the hospital,in fact what I discovered was an eyes sore as the hospital is devoid of practically no single equipment which qualify it to be called one.”

The Governor added that “l wouldn’t know whether after the Former governor commissioning of the said hospitals ,the equipment was taking away by the contractors,as our investigations revealed that the said hospitals have the same story of absence of equipment and facilities for the health walkers to work with.”

He further said that  the reasons why he made it policies that he can’t not give money to any contractor by proxy,but to monitored to the letter and ensure the work is carried out ,in commensurate with the money of the people plateau state.

Over the years in the state,the contractors have been striving on the nonchalant attitude of the  government, and some of the government agencies to Short change the system even  when they are fully mobilized for the contract .

Mutfwang reiterated that under his Government every contractors most justify every Kobo collected from the government to carry out any function.

However,Senator Lalong who have the golden opportunity to talk with the anxious Journalists and cleared himself from the “Empty Hospitals” allegations inherited by Mutfwang administration jetted out of the venue of the event immediately after receiving the Award.

Governor Mutfwang however lauded the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), for choosing the plateau state as venue for the 2025 summit.

Said his administration barely two years in office has achieved significant stride in  all sectors of the economy including health.

Revealed that currently,the information reaching the government is that there are influx of medical tourism into the state occasion by the administration up scaling  health sector in the state. “As Healthy society Is A Wealthy Nation”.

“This is not to say we are there yet,as there are still more to be done. We will not rest in our oars until we reach there, where the state will be use as reference points in all sectors not just in health.he maintained.”

The Director General(DG) , Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency(PEPSA), Samuel Depiya has lauded Governor  Caleb Mutfwang for his support to the plateau Environmental Sanitation Agency PEPSA in the state .

Disclosed that just barely one year in office as Director General of the Agency, a lot have been achieved through the hard work of the management and staff  of the agency who works around the clock to ensure that it leaves  up to the mandate it was set up .

The Director  General (DG), Plateau  Environmental Sanitation Agency (PEPSA), Samuel Depiya Stated this in his welcome address  during 2025 flag-off D- Silting  of Drainages System to forestall flooding in Jos North/South and Bukuru metropolis because of the approach of the raining season.

The DG represented by the Director of Administration  in the agency Izang Pate, said this is to forestall unforseen flooding in the affected local government and the state in general, which will also reduce water burn diseases and to maintain and protect  our environment.

The DG lauded  the Governor whom he described as man that has concern of his people at heart which is the reasons he is supporting the program to ensure that all drainages in the state are cleared before the rainy season set in.

Urged the citizens of the state to come out en- mass and support the agency laudable program which will be  for the benefits of all.

However called on those that have kick start the program like the Churches ,Mosques Individuals,Shops ,we appreciate you all ,your action is an indication that they are good citizens of the state.

Call on the citizens of the state to ensure  all hands are on  deck to support the laudable initiative of the Agency .

On his part, the Chairman Jos North Local Government,Hon JK Chris commended PEPSA,NESREA , JMDB and other stakeholders in Jos Bukuru metropol for the flag- off of the important exercise .

The chairman further add that Jos North and Jos South are the business hub of the state, however decried the people’s bad culture of pouring their debris in the drainages and water ways which in most cases close our water ways.

Stressed that the initiative of PEPSA and other of it collaborators will reduce the incident of flooding in Jos Bukuru metropolis.

Commended the exercise and optimistic that with the commitment of Jos South chairman and other chairmen in the 17 local Government to implement  the initiative in their various local councils.

The chairman called on all shops owners , corporate organisations and Government agencies to follow suit to ensure that all the drainages with Jos Bukuru metropolis are evacuated.

However appreciate the governor barrister Caleb Mutfwang for giving giving the Chairmen of the Council’s to share in his vision for clean environment.

“We assuring the governor that we as the Chairmen of our various LG ,we will join hands with PEPSA,NESREA and other agencies to ensure that we have less incidences of flooding within Jos Bukuru metropolis.”

The Director Wast Management appealed to the citizens of the state to join hands with PEPSA, NESREA, JMDB and other critical stakeholders in wast management to keep the state clean.

“As the saying goes,cleaningness is next to Godliness,”

On his part,the zonal Director of NESREA in the state ,Jude Appah said the presence of dignities in the program is an indication that the program is very important and symbolic when it comes to the issues of drainages evacuations.

Stressed that environment have no barrier , adviced all to stop polluting the environment.

In a significant move aimed at addressing Plateau State’s lingering security challenges, the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang  has formally inaugurated the Plateau State Inter-Religious Advisory Council.

The ceremony, held at the Twin Theatre Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, brought together prominent religious and traditional leaders who are entrusted with the critical task of fostering unity, tolerance, and social cohesion across the state.

The 35-member Council is co-chaired by Reverend Pandam Yamsat, former President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), and His Royal Highness, the Emir of Wase, Alhaji Mohammed Sambo Haruna, who also chairs the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Plateau State. The Council is envisioned as a moral and spiritual compass to guide governance and public engagement across the state.

In his address, Governor Mutfwang underscored the importance of the Council as a strategic and enduring response to the social and moral fissures that have undermined progress in Plateau State. He emphasized that the initiative is not a knee-jerk reaction but a thoughtfully designed policy framework.

“This is not an emergency arrangement, but a well-conceived and long-planned strategy to tackle the moral and social challenges confronting our state,” the Governor stated. “We must now use religion as a force for healing, not division; for building bridges, not walls.”

He lamented the historical misuse of religion as a divisive tool, which has deepened poverty, mistrust, and underdevelopment, and charged the Council to operate with sincerity, truth, and compassion to restore public trust in peaceful communal coexistence.

“The real enemy we face is poverty, not each other,” Governor Mutfwang declared. “As long as we remain divided along religious lines, we will remain trapped in cycles of underdevelopment. It is time to unite, to rise above sectarianism, and reclaim our collective destiny.”

The Governor further warned that criminal elements thrive in environments marked by division and disunity, urging communities to remain vigilant and united against any form of manipulation or incitement.

Speaking on behalf of the Council, Reverend Pandam Yamsat expressed profound gratitude for the Governor’s visionary leadership. He pledged the Council’s unwavering commitment to its mandate, describing it as a “beacon of hope” grounded in prayer, transparency, and inclusive dialogue.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the State Government, Arc. Samuel Jatau, commended the initiative, noting that religious and ethnic divisions have long impeded Plateau’s progress. 

He urged the Council to serve as a model of integrity and to champion peace and reconciliation across all communities.

The Inter-Religious Advisory Council will serve a consultative and advisory role, providing the government with guidance on policies and actions that promote interfaith harmony, community security, and sustainable development.

Its inauguration marks a bold and renewed commitment by the Mutfwang administration to rebuild Plateau State as a land of peace, unity, and shared prosperity.

The Magistrate Court sitting at the Plateau State High Court Premise has Excused itself from Alleged Defamation Charges case instituted by one ITF Staff Joshua Dimlong against Alex Giwa, a practicing journalist and (2) others .

The counsel representing 1st,2nd & 3rd Defendants vehemently argued that the Judge should excuse himself because the substance of the complaints are issues that are within the knowledge of the Judge, as he had earlier expressed his disdain against the action of the alleged Defendants for publishing the picture of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Staff Joshua Dimlong in witness box while standing trial.

The counsel to the 1st,2nd & 3rd Defendants barrister Pandak Bawa disclosed this  in an interview with journalists after the ruling of the magistrate court on motion which boarded on jurisdiction sitting at the Plateau state High Court premises off Hill Station Hotel Junction Jos , Plateau State on 26th March 2025.

The presiding judge, having listening keenly to the argument of both counsels (complaints & Defendants )in the matter, was left with no option than to excuse himself from the to give room for neutrality.

As against the back drop, the case  file that have been transferred to Jos Metropolitan Development Board Court will come up on the 16th April 2025 for mention.

It would be recall that the matter was first instituted by the complainant Joshua Dimlong in Chief Magistrate Court Abattior ,on the day the Defendants where arraigned ,the prosecutor applied to withdraw the case ,and the Defendants counsel also applied for the court to discharge, acquit and Clear the(3) accused persons of all the charges  levied against them by the complainant Dimlong .

In a surprise turned of events, immediately the Defendants where leaving the court,the complainant Joshua Dimlong Serve the three Defendants with direct criminal complaints instituted before Chief Magistrate court sitting within the Plateau state High Court premises.

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang , has received the report of the Special Committee on Complaints Arising from the Creation and Upgrading of Chiefdoms, Districts, and Village Areas in the state, from 2015 to date.

The Committee, Chaired by retired Justice Christine Dapup, presented the comprehensive report, based on 382 memoranda submitted by various communities and stakeholders, at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

In her remarks, Justice  Christine Dapup the assignment as a critical engagement with the legitimate grievances of the people, following the publication of Gazette Nos. 1 and 2 of 2023. She noted that the memoranda reflected deep-seated demands for justice, fairness, and recognition, particularly from historically marginalized and suppressed communities across Plateau State.

“All senatorial districts were actively engaged,” she stated, “and the stories we encountered underscored the urgent need for institutional reforms and capacity building within the traditional governance system. Restructuring the traditional institution is key to strengthening nation-building efforts.”

Receiving the report, Governor Mutfwang acknowledged the complexity and emotional weight of the assignment, describing it as vital to peacebuilding and reconciliation across the state.

“This was not just an administrative task,” the Governor noted. “It was a deeply emotional and sensitive undertaking that required wisdom, empathy, and a commitment to justice. I commend Justice Christine Dapup and her team for their diligence and integrity in carrying out this crucial task.”

Governor Mutfwang emphasized that although his administration inherited many of these longstanding issues, it is fully committed to resolving them with fairness, equity, and justice to all.

“We are not here to apportion blame,” he said. “We are here to solve problems. Every citizen of Plateau State must feel a sense of belonging, regardless of ethnicity or religion. Our ‘Plateau-ness’ must always come first.”

Commenting on the recent violence in Bokkos Local Government Area, the Governor strongly condemned the attacks, labeling them as genocide.

“Let us be clear: what happened in Bokkos is genocide, plain and simple. Reducing such a heinous crime to a mere farmer-herder conflict is both false and offensive. It dishonours the memory of the victims and trivializes their suffering.”

He urged citizens to reject divisive narratives and embrace unity, emphasizing that violence anywhere in the state affects all Plateau people. “This is a time for collective healing and resolve. We must partner together and summon the courage to rebuild.”

Governor Mutfwang assured that the committee’s report would be reviewed objectively, with a White Paper to be produced after wide consultations with relevant stakeholders.

“We will not act unilaterally. We will listen, engage, and work with all parties to chart a course toward lasting peace and inclusive progress,” he said.

He also congratulated Justice Christine Dapup on her recent appointment to the Police Service Commission, expressing confidence in her continued contributions to national development.

In a related development, Governor Mutfwang inaugurated the Planning Committee for the 2025 Plateau Unity Christmas Carol and Praise Festival. He highlighted the growing importance of the annual event as both a spiritual celebration and a vehicle for promoting tourism.

“Tourism is a multifaceted driver of development, spiritual, cultural, health, and sports-related,” he said. “This year, we are expanding the festival’s scope to include a Plateau Marathon as part of efforts to reclaim our identity and redefine the Plateau narrative.”

The Governor reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting victims of violence and thanked agencies, especially the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), for their swift response. He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his concern and for directing federal security agencies to act decisively.

“We thank Mr. President and the national security leadership for their prompt intervention. But beyond security measures, we must remain united, resilient, and committed to building a peaceful Plateau where life thrives.”

As part of the  line up activities to mark the year 2025 Police National week, the Nigeria police force has take her campaign for the need for cleaningness to the center city of Jos.

The police force where at terminus business center of the state sweeping the debris in the area and evacuating same on stationed wast disposal Van on hand to dispose the debris.

Speaking to journalists about the activities, Commissioner of police Plateau State  Command Emmanuel Olugbenga Adesina said the environmental Sanitation embarked by the force is one of the lined up activities to mark the force this year  2025 “National Week” Celebration.

The police boss said this year 2025 National Police Week Celebration started on the 2nd April 2025 with Stakeholders Meetings with all  stakeholders with the force.

He said today which is day two,the force is at Terminus the business nerves of the state  to clean up debris heaped up in Jos metropolis including terminus.

The police boss stressed that the force will also take their activities to some other parts in the state to replicate the same thing.

Stressed that cleaningness is next to Godliness, there is nothing like healthy living “We want to assist and help people so that we can clean up most of the firty environment in the city center that is what we are doing .”

Police National Week Celebration is an Annual  ritual which is  celebrated every year.

Too Late For Atiku To Buy Character, Integrity

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has been told that it was already too late for him to buy character and integrity that he has lacked from birth, and that no one could have knew him better than President Olusegun Obasanjo,  under whom he served as Vice President for eight years.

Lere Olayinka, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, was reacting to statement by the Atiku Media Office that character was the reason the decision of the committee set up by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to select its Vice Presidential candidate for the 2023 election was rejected.

He said one Nigerian that can never be found in the gathering of men of character and integrity is Atiku, and his boss, Obasanjo, attested to this in his book; My Watch.

Olayinka said; “One of the reasons Wike first rejected Atiku’s offer to have him as his running mate was his not too impressive character and integrity rating, until he was prevaied upon. And this, Atiku exhibited when he rejected the decision of committee the party set up to pick his running mate even after telling everyone that the decision of the committee will be bidding on him.

“Now, after his lies that he picked his running mate based on the committee report that placed the former Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, as number one was bursted, he is now sermonising about character and integrity,  which he, himself does not have.

“Funny that the same Atiku, that his boss described as a ‘blatant and shameless liar,’ is the one talking about character. 

“For the records, Obasanjo said in his book, ‘My Watch’ that ‘What I did not know, which came out glaringly later, was his parental background which was somewhat shadowy, his propensity to corruption, his tendency to disloyalty, his inability to say and stick to the truth all the time, a propensity for poor judgement, his belief and reliance on marabouts, his lack of transparency, his trust in money to buy his way out on all issues and his readiness to sacrifice morality, integrity, propriety, truth and national interest for self and selfish interest.’

“Up till today,  Atiku has not debunked what his boss said about him.”

“Unlike Atiku,  Wike does not hide or pretend on where he stands on issues. He is not one that will do a tweet on major issues and rush to delete it. He didn’t pretend about his position on the 2023 election and he won’t pretend on where he will stand in 2027.

“It is Atiku, that should start being truthful and reliable, especially now that he is old, because everything should not be about desperation to be president.”

Plateau Monthly Environmental Sanitation is gradually witnessing set back as over 70 percent of the citizens of the state are no longer adhering to the government directives backed by law for  residents to remain in their respectives homes between the hour 7-10am every last  Saturday of every month and keep their environment tidy.

This as greater percent of the citizens of the state where seen going about their normal daily businesses when the environmental Sanitation exercise billed to take place Saturday 29th March 2025 suppose to be observed across all the 17 LGAs of the state been the last Saturday of the month of March.

Our reporter who was on the entourage of Plateau Environmental Sanitation Agency (PEPSA), can authoritatively report that the exercise on the month under review, is to say the least closed to abysmal failure as the people where seen going about their normal activities.

The action of the citizens in the is even more worrisome as the agency ,prior to the exercise  on Friday 28th March 2025 had embarked on massive sensitization with loudspeaker mounted on vehicle to inform general of the need for all to remain in their respective house and keep their environment and drainages clean.

In Bauchi Road the gate way to  sister state, Bauchi state,it is a common sight seeing influx of people in and out of the state with no sign they know that it’s the day for environmental Sanitation in the state.

Our inquisitive reporter who sort to find out why it’s so ,reported that the residents blamed the agency  alleged to have reduced the exercise to child’s play which is constantly greeted by “Low Key”,and in most cases not observed at all because of constantly coinciding with state government functions which had make it not too attractive to the citizens,and make them no longer remember when the exercise is going to take place.

Another person who speak on condition of anonymity ,also heaps the blame on  government for making Penalties for offenders so easy,  as low as One Thousand (#1,000) Naira.

“Knowing they  can easily pay the fine and allowed to go, they don’t care about the exercise ,after all when they are eventually apprehended they can easily part with the fine of One Thousand Naira without any much are ado.

He however advocated that if the government of the state want to ensure that they are serious with the exercise, they should up-scale the impunitive measures like making every offenders to pay not less than Five Thousand (#5,000) naira above, and make them remain and do their environmental at that point they are arrested, that will serve as deterant to who would want to violate the state environmental law.

However, during the exercise, offenders where met to pay the sum of One Thousand Naira at the mobile court set -up for the purpose by the Agency.

It’s imperative to point out without fear of any contradiction, and without minancing words,this month March 2025 environmental Sanitation is an abysmal failure.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Returns and Reintegration Assistance (IRARA) recently visited the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN) Secretariat in Lagos.

The visit reaffirmed their commitment to promoting decent work, fair recruitment, and labour migration in Nigeria.

According to Jide Afolabi, EAPEAN Executive Secretary, “The ILO’s support is crucial in enhancing fair recruitment practices and promoting decent work in Nigeria. We are committed to working together to achieve these goals.”

The ILO and EAPEAN have a long-standing partnership aimed at promoting decent work, fair recruitment, and labour migration in Nigeria. The visit underscored their continued commitment to this goal.

The IRARA team, including Project Administrator Ms. Fejiro Anibor and Monitoring & Evaluation Consultant Mr. Tayo Adeboye, also visited EAPEAN to strengthen their partnership.

This partnership is part of the “Assisting the Reintegration of Returnees through Integrated Vocational and Entrepreneurship Support (ARRIVES) project, which aims to support the reintegration of returnees in Nigeria through vocational and entrepreneurship training, as well as job placement opportunities.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Adeboye noted that the Monitoring & Evaluation team’s primary objective was to assess the project’s impact and identify areas for improvement. “Our goal is to determine the effectiveness of the project and make necessary adjustments to ensure its success,” he said.

EAPEAN and IRARA signed a landmark partnership agreement on January 30, 2025, to collaborate on this project. 

“We are excited to work together to provide internship and job placement opportunities for returnees, and we believe that this partnership will have a lasting impact on the lives of many Nigerians,” said Jide Afolabi, EAPEAN Executive Secretary.

The Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN) applauds the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on their recent successful operation and rescue of  seven suspected victims of human trafficking in Abuja,Nigeria. 

“We strongly commend NAPTIP under the able leadership of Binta Adamu Bello for their tireless efforts in combating human trafficking. Their dedication to protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation is truly commendable,” said Dr. Olufemi Ogunlowo, President of EAPEAN.

The recent operation highlights the dangers of patronizing unlicensed recruiters who disregard the rules and regulations governing recruitment. “These unscrupulous individuals prey on vulnerable job seekers, putting their lives at risk, warned Ogunlowo. “It is therefore essential that job seekers exercise caution when dealing with recruitment agencies and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.”

Furthermore, the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN) is calling on the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to intensify its efforts in combating human trafficking.

Specifically, EAPEAN is urging NAPTIP to focus on major international airports, such as the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, and Aminu Kano International Airport, which are being exploited by unscrupulous operators in the industry.

The chairman of Riyom local government of plateau state hon.Sati Bature Shuwa,has promise to deliver the dividend of democracy to the door steps of the people of the local government,and adviced the citizens of the council to give governor Mutfwang’s administration  Unalloyed support to achieve the desired goal.

As the council chairman Sati  Bature promise to change the face of the LG to reflect  democratic dividend that would give the people of the local government through sense  of democracy  as the council has so far met with critical stakeholders and Government agencies to ensure they speak with one voice that would be loud to attract  government  attention to the local government.

The Chairman hon. Sati  Bature Shuwa made the promise in his speech during the northern Zones  day   at the ongoing Plateau State Trade Fair taking place at Polo field in Jos , plateau state.

Shuwa  Represented by his secretary  Hon.Abraham Tonjing lauded his appointment as secretary of the council because it gives him the opportunity to do new things different from his background as Broadcaster for the past three decades ,in addition trying to ensure he contribute his quarter to the development of the council by bringing new things to the table.

Hon. Tonjing lament the  pockets of attacks Riyom local Government has gone through over  the years, but thank God , peace have finally return to the council as it’s currently doing well, with constant holding of security meetings with critical stakeholders to ensure that.Riyom remain peaceful.

In keeping his promises for a robust legislation and representation of his Constituency at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, the member representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, Hon. Daniel Asama Ago, initiated four bills for constitution amendment which have passed Second Reading and reached Committee stage for scrutiny.

In a statement signed by his Media Director, Brian Lang, and made available to Gnews, the bills includes:

-Defining, Criminalizing Torture and Inhuman Treatment; this seeks defining Acts that constitute Torture, Inhuman, or Degrading treatment, and Related Matters.

The aim is to strengthen Nigeria’s Human Rights framework by clearly defining and criminalizing Acts of Torture and Inhuman Treatment, ensuring better protection for Citizens against abuses by State and non-state actors.

-Strengthening Human Rights Treaty:

This bill seeks to ensure that Human Rights Treaties Ratified by Nigeria are properly integrated into Domestic Law, providing a framework for their effective application in Governance and Judicial Matters.

-Free, Compulsory, and Universal Basic Education as a Fundamental Right.

–This bill was co-sponsored with the Speaker House of Reps, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen (APC), member representing Zaria Constituency, and seeks to enshrine Free and Compulsory Basic Education as Fundamental Human Right, ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to quality Education without financial barriers.

-Citizenship Rights and Inclusion of Youths & Women in Leadership;

The bill was co-sponsored with Hon. Kafilat Ogbara (APC), representing Kosefe Federal Constituency, and is to address the long-standing Gender Inequalities in Nigerian Citizenship Laws.

 It will ensure that foreign spouses of Nigerian women receive the same Citizenship Rights as those married to Nigerian men.

 Additionally, it mandates increased inclusion of Women and Youths in Leadership positions.

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned actor Abdu Kano, widely known as Karkuzu, after a prolonged illness.

In a condolence message, Governor Mutfwang described the late Karkuzu as a shining example of wisdom and service, whose demise marks a profound loss not only to his immediate family and the film industry but also to Plateau State and beyond.

He acknowledged Karkuzu’s immense contributions to the Hausa film industry, where he left an indelible mark through his artistry, using film as a tool to educate, entertain, and create awareness on critical societal issues.

The Muslims Ummah in Plateau state has lauded the Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (Nuj),in plateau Mrs Ayuku Pwaspo for her stances in addressing the religious disharmony between Muslims and christians adherence in the state.

As it’s on record that the Chairperson of the union in the state remain the first pen profession  body in the state that have organize Ramadan Lecture, 2nd in its series since she assumed the leadership of the council with a bid to address religious disharmony in the state.

The accolades was showered on the Chairperson Nigeria Union of Journalists (Nuj), Plateau state chapter Ayuku Pwaspo during the 2nd Edition of Ramadan Lecture organised by the union on Wednesday 26th March 2025 held at the unions Secretariat ,Hill Station Junction ,Jos.

Admonlished other professional  to emulate the spirit of religious Unity as demonstrated  by the Chairperson to ensure the hitherto plateau which was at the verge of disintegration on line of religion, retraced it track back to the former as the “Home Of Peace And Tourism”.

She said the month of Ramadan which is the month of fasting,is believed to be a period the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed to guide adherents on the teaching of Allah and as a guide to spiritual living.

Said the month of Ramadan coincide with the period the Christians are also observing “Lent” which also focuses on prayer, fasting and arms giving in preparation for Easter Celebration.

Stressed that as Nigerians all over observe the two significant religious events simultaneously,it should foster interreligious dialogue, promote peace and unity of purpose.

In his goodwill message, governor Mutfwang Said the gathering underscores the invaluable role of the media in fostering peace , unity ,and societal growth.

The determinate of who will become the next president of Nigeria in 2027 has be revealed as the election will not be won based on political party you belong, your financial strength to confuse the people ,but it will be won based on Three ingredients , Poverty, Hardship and Hunger.

The Former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with group of Journalists at his resident in Jos.

The Former Minister who was Governorship Candidate on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP),in 2023 General election in plateau State, further disclosed that contrary to speculation that Nigeria is drifting towards One Party State, its not true, because a party is an association of people with the same ideology , coming together for the furtherance of that ideology.

“We are not drifting to one party state, because a party is an association of people with common interests Nigerians has loss confidence on the political system.”

He further disclosed that these rigmarole  referred to as  movement of leadership from one political party to the other ,is the re-circling of the same group of people,.

He further add lcurrently , Nigeria are domesticated with Hunger,

Poverty and Hardships that is what Nigeria are,all the shouting about political parties, doesn’t enter into the ears of Nigerians,but they only listening to somebody that talk about those things affecting them.

” When you follow the social media keenly ,you will understand that Nigerians only react to those things affecting them,so political party now is poverty, hardship and hunger.”

He said Nigerians are currently repositioning themselves like watching football match, anywhere he is standing and not having good view of his player ,he change position so that he can see properly, that is what is happening currently , so there is nothing to worry about.

“2027 is not going to be determined by any formidable opposition party, Nigeria will defect President Tinubu, it happened in many countries ,it will be replicated in Nigeria.

He cited example of Senegal where a replical of President Tinubu was manipulating the electoral process,and didn’t want to religuish power, until the people give him good fight, that is what is going to happen in Nigeria.

“The people give him good fight,he continue prosponing the election, manipulating the constitution, trying to use the force,the people where dissatisfy they rejected him and removed him “.

” He was arresting oppositions just like what president Tinubu is doing now buying every voice to join the APC,in Senegal, it shall come to pass in Nigeria in 2027.”

On whether he is contemplating decamping from SDP,he said there is no reason ,or reasons for him to leave the party.

“SDP Remains the only formidable and credible political party in Nigeria today.Is the only alternative party that is organize ,and has what it’s take to challenge other political parties in the like of APC, PDP and others.”

The Former Minister of Sports during President Mohammedu Buhari Administration , Social Crusader for Good Governance in Nigeria Honourable Barrister Solomon Dalung has said contrary to promise by Plateau State Government to give Late Lt. Gen.JT Useni State burial ,what he witness on the 22nd February during the burial was not State burial ,but “State Bazaar”.

Solomon Dalung said this so because governor Caleb Mutfwang good and sincere intention for good Governance in plateau state is grossly abuse by his Aids he entrusted with sensitive responsibilities of delegation of authoritie, hence making the governor look  derailing from his responsibility as  governor of  the state in the eyes of citizens  of the state.

Solomon Dalung was speaking in an interview with journalists at his resident in Jos , Jos-South local Government on state of  the  Nation , Governor Mutfwang Performance  in the state and other National issues.

Barrister Dalung who is Social Democratic Party (SDP), Governorship Candidate in 2023 general elections in plateau state lauded Governor Mutfwang performance so far on his efforts to bring dividends of democracy closer to the citizens of the state by constructions of New roads, rehabilitations of old ones,and provisions of transportation to help  reduced hardship face by the people following the removal of fuel subsidy by Mr President.

Lamented that with the good intentions of  governor Mutfwang ,some of his aids are working hard to truncate the good work of the governor to ensure they bring his efforts to naughty.

To buttressed his point,he give example of the recent burial of the elder stateman Lt.Gen.JT Useni’s held 22nd March 2025 .

He recalled governor Mutfwang condolence visit to the Late General’s resident how he promised to give the Late General a State burial.

“But regrettably, the burial of the late General was not State burial but”State Bazaar”,it became a Bazaar to the point that God in heaven was angry with the governor and disgraced him in the church.”

” Because,when he was speaking , heaven struck and the light went off because the governor’s men went bought (3) gallons of fuel for a huge generator”.

Meanwhile Over 1.7 Billion Naira was said to have been budgeted in the burial ,and they could not afford to fuel the generator sufficient enough.

“That tells you how reckless people working with governor Mutfwang are,and he was disappointed and disgraced before the whole nation.”

” He should learn a lesson from what happened to him in the church because heaven have spoken , when the light went off ,until when he finished speaking before the light come back.”

He revealed that it’s very significant prophecy , that governor Mutfwang need to consult to be guarded ,it is a very dangerous trend for his leadership.

” The state government promised they are going to rehabilitate the road from jos to Lantang,in honor of the Late General Useni before the burial.”

Dalung said what turned out was not governor Mutfwang,”because  Mutfwang roads are everywhere in Jos ,you drove on one of Mutfwang road he rehabilitated leading to my house.”

” If Mutfwang promised rehabilitating roads, they cannot just go and dig stones and filled potholes , that is the meaning of Mutfwang rehabilitation of roads”.

He confessed benefiting from roads in the metropolis  constructed by Mutfwang ,and he should be able to fight on that done by him”Except Mutfwang  have change,he promised to renovate the house of the Late Gen.’s house in Lantang and Jos,all we saw is a clumsy and poor repainting of the late General’s house in Jos.

“As all these where not enough,the worst was they promised to uplift the utility facilities in the church to accommodate the numbers of people that would be on ground during the burial,no single  facilities was changed,the only thing they did was to change those bulbs lights in the church.”

“I am not a Christian but a believer, with strong Communication with somebody ruling over the universe. “.

This covering up they succeeded in doing when God spoke  to Mutfwang when he was speaking , however adviced him to listen to the voice of reasons, because if he doesn’t listen to the voice of reasons he will face bigger problems in the future.

“When  I observe that 

governor Mutfwang is derailing , when all these where happening I tried reaching out to the Governor,”

“I told him how he  met well for the state and the people  but unfortunately he is disappointed and betrayed by those he asked to do the jobs”

The Gberman Tarok said he remained the governor contrary to his earlier promise to give the Late General State burial, what they saw was not a state burial, but State Bazaar.

I also remained him ,as the Chief Executive of the state,he have all the weapon of power to investigate, which I quickly rundown everything for him in case he didn’t understand what I was saying.

“Let me tell you something that made me to share tears on the day of the burial of Useni,I went to his village ,under our tradition elders would receive traditional greetings and Condoles”.

“There were Over 600-700 elders across Tarok land , gathered ,and  there was only 10 gallons of local brewed drink (burukutu),I have to cough out some money from my pocket and my friend that accompanied me to support them”.

“As Tarok man is an insult , those elders are our elders ,would all these things put together, could said to be state burial?” The answer is No.”

“I didn’t Sip a bottle of coke in the burial apart from a cup of palm wine offered me by the in law to the Late General.”

He questioned where then did the huge amount of money voted for the burial want?

“I have complained publicly ,I have come under attack, some of the men of the governor they didn’t know that attacking me is like giving me more power,they wouldn’t have done that.”

” Some of them accused me that because they didn’t make me member of the planing Committee , that is why l am fighting them”.

“Their answer suggest what they did, because if being a member of planing Committee is to serve, nobody would struggle to join”.

“They didn’t include me, because they knew they are going to share money,if I am there I will not agree, that is why they did not include me.”

“Their answer bring out their intentions,I am feeling bad for the governor,he is going down,and nobody is sincere enough , even the religious father flocking around him and compared them with the 400 false prophets in the Bible “.

Pray that these does not affect his good friend Mutfwang.

On the ultimatum given  to the governor to investigate the 1.7 Billion Naira burial of Late General Useni he said.

“I am the comrade General Heading the “Emancipation of Nigeria ,the movement is  National  Association with membership all over Nigeria.”

He further explained that the movement is committed to restoring the core value, democracy and the integrity of Nigeria as a nation, Transparency and justice.

Revealed that the movement is taking the issue of alleged misappropriation of 1.7 billion for the burial of the Late general seriously.

“This is because Late elder JT Useni is a state man and didn’t deserve what he got.”

Especially accountability which the core value is missing in the entire transaction.

We have first drawn the attention of the governor Caleb Mutfwang in our previous publication that the burial wasn’t state burial but “State Bazaar”,we invited him to probe the funeral committee and invite them to give public accounton how the money where spent.

“We did not hear from the governor, although we are not expecting his reply”.

“As against these backdrop,we role out Seven Days Ultimatum after then ,we Will deliver a well written petition to Efcc and other relevant agencies “.

” Inviting them to investigate a state burial which we know is a”State Bazaar,after their investigation , they would justify those who are right and wrong”.

We still stand by our Ultimatum,we are not going to renegade until will got accountability.

“If the committee come out with their accountability , obviously will are not probing them but failure to account to the public fund can be something else.” He said.

“I want to restate that we are not investigating them.”

The reasons why president Tinubu declared State of Emergency in River State is beginning to be clear to Nigerians who viewed the president hast decision from the angle of his desperate ambition for his re-election bid in 2027.

As  President Tinubu threatened by losing  River State which has huge electoral value in determining who becomes the president of Nigeria,and the “godson” of the president Wike has also loss his investments which is the major drama unfolding in River state.

The Former Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung revealed this in an interview with the press on the State of the Nation at his resident in Sabo Bariki Jos South local government of plateau state 23rd March 2025.

Dalung said the unilateral imposition of State of the Emergency  in one of the richest oil producing  State without  recourse to consultations by Mr . President Ahmed Tinubu is unconstitutional, Unlawful, Tyrannical and above all detactorial.

He said the president action is unconstitutional because the  constitution  of the Federal Republic of Nigeria didn’t contemplate it,as Section (1)Sub section (2) of the constitution  provides that the constitution shall be Supreme and applicable to all authorities.

He condemned the appointment of Sole Administrator to replace a democratically elected governor ,the action of Mr President he described as gross violation of the constitution of  Federal Republic of Nigeria, which is not from the constitution,there is no where in the constitution Powers is defined, which automatically makes it unconstitutional.

He further disclosed that  the action of the president declaring River State of  Emergency also not know in law because the highest Court in Nigeria , Supreme Court  has established Three criteria for declaring the state of emergency in any state of the Federation in the country.

This is followed by GoodLuck Jonathan in 2013; when he declared state of Emergency in Three States, which includes,Yobe,Adamawa and Borno state.In these case ,the political authority where intact, while military where deployed to deal with treats.

Stressed that declaration of state of Emergency is by mobilizing security aspect to deal with the very factors threatening the national integrity of the country , either public safety, security and external agression , these are the three the president hold on to.

Honourable  Dalung was quick to add that he would not challenge the action of the President for now because the constitution vested discretion of assessing , evaluating these factors of Mr President and it’s derived law that ones a law vest discretion on a person, you cannot challenge how that decretion is exercised.

“But dismantling political Authority in River State, is the worst form of deractorship that can be ever imagined in any democracy”.

He said when similar situation happened ,the current Vice President of Nigeria, Shettima was then the governor of Borno,he was not remove from office as governor of the state,the action of the president is unlawful.

“The action of the president is detractoral because the president “SO MOTO” that is on his own , without prompting, just declared State of Emergency ,just held on to  certain factors at best  his own knowledge”.

Queried that  if the factors the president relayed upon to declare State of Emergency in River State are applicable ,the questions begging for an answers is why did the president failed to declare state of emergency in Sokoto state, where 1st class traditional ruler was kidnapped  and spend 21days in the camp of bandit and they were televising  how they were torturing him in these period until they eventually killed him.

” And that same Sokoto state,bandits stacked over Hundred (100),Communities ,is that not  worth declaring state of Emergency ? Why has the president failed to declare State of Emergency in Katsina,Kebi state where students of Federal Government College where adopted getting to a year now.

“Why has he not declare state of Emergency in Kasina, Zamfara,Niger, Kaduna , plateau , Nasarawa or Benue where there are cases of serious killings of innocence citizens in plateau state with over (100) people gruesomely massacred on the eve  of Christmas.

The Former Minister of Sports further questioned if the protection of lives and properties are the priority of Mr President , why he didn’t declare the state of emergency in those states,he questioned.

“Why did President Tinubu did not declare state of Emergency in South East where criminal gang have practically held the South East hostage for more than three years, they have even imposed their laws which anybody that violated it should be ready to face dare consequences “.

” I Think, we will not find answers to these questions except that a situation is so extreme in River State because the president 2027 re-election bid is threatened by losing River State which has huge electoral value in determining who become the president of Nigeria and his “godson”Minister of FCT Wike has also loss his investment that is the major drama unfolding in River state.”

The “Gbarman Tarok”  earlier agreed that he is as confused like patriotic citizens of Nigeria on the current state of the nation,

“The confusion  is driven according to him  by the fact that leaders have failed to provide necessary guardian to inspire hope and consciousness on the citizens to appreciate their country.”

All is now set to kick start college of medicine  at the Plateau State University BOKKOS this November  following an MoU with the University of Freiburg Germany and Plateau State Government.

The collaboration is an effort from the Plateau State Government which is  geared towards revamping the health sector that will benefit  the state University  and the citizenry. 

Acting Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos Professor Shedrack Best while receiving the German delegation in his office,  expressed delight over the effort by the Governor and assured of his unflinching collaboration in ensuring the efforts came to fruition.

 Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration,  Associate Professor Keziah Yiltohom Ayuba, Professor  Shedrack Best acknowledged how beneficial the partnership will be, to the University.

 This partnership is going to place the institution in the map of high ranking University in the global space.”

The Acting Vice Chancellor took time to lead the partners to the proposed temporary site where the program is expected to commence, which is at the Faculty of Health Sciences,other places visited were the university’s Health Centre. 

Representative of the University of  Freiburg Germany,  Associate Professor Peter Asaga Mark after touring some of the facilities,  expressed satisfaction with the available physical infrastructures,stating that, 

” we noticed that Plateau State University is actually ready to start, looking at the lecture rooms are commendable. We are going to supply the state of art equipment for this noble course.” 

Associate Professor Asaga appaluded the commitment of Governor Mutfwang in revamping the health sector in Plateau State.

Stressed that his Government will invest on infrastructure , particularly road network landscape and connectives.This initiatives are designed to empower our entrepreneure, attract investors and position plateau state as a hub for business and Innovations.

He reiterated his administration commitment in providing security for the citizens of plateau as the government under my watch is working assiduously closely with security agencies to ensure safe and peaceful environment for business to operate.

Governor Mutfwang however call on farmers in the state to scale up security measures particularly now that the raining season to usher in planting season is at the corner ,advice business investors to enhance security measures to protect life ,farm land and investment.

Earlier in his welcome address, Commissioner for commerce and industry , honourable Mohammed Salihu Nyalun said the 2025 plateau state trade fair is a testament of governor Mutfwang led administration commitment in  creating an enabling environment that supports businesses , encourage innovations and attracts investment .

Further explained that the governor know the importance of trade and commerce in driving economic growth and improving  businesses of our people.

The Commissioner assured the citizens of Plateau that in the next few weeks the trade fair is going to operate,they will have the opportunity to engage with local and international businesses , explore new markets and showcase their products and services.

Stressed that the theme of this Year 2025 trade fair “Driving Innovations and Technology To Unlock The Hidden Potentials Of MSMEs,reflect our determination to harness the Power of innovation and technology to drive economic growth and development.

Believed that by embracing innovations and Technology,our MSMEs can unlock new opportunities, increase their competitiveness ,and contribute to the growth of the economy .

He said he honoured the plateau contract on assumption of office as the governor of the state that is why the seat of speaker went to  Southern zone of the state.

Stressed  that the decision is not out of imagination, but is the creation of the law  appeal to those who want to hide under it to create mischief to understand is the law Creation and should be allow to manage within the confine of the law.

He commended the  All Progressive Congress (APC), who  formed majority in the state House of Assembly follow judicial coup against member of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), that removed all members of the party house of assembly and bring in member of APC at the election tribunal.

“I want to salute all the APC Members,as they have shown that they are worthy sons of Plateau,they have demonstrate that Plateau state is for all of us.”

Governor Mutfwang warned those bent in creating disharmony among the sons and daughters of plateau,let me assure you that God is neither sleeping or slumber and will never allow their evil plans against his people triumph.

” I want to say this today ,so that our past will rest,”

The governor promise to respect the wishes of the people of Plateau if by para venture completed his tenure as the governor of the state.

The Provost College of Health Zawan Dr. Jonathan Bulus  has described Governor Caleb Mutfwang as God sent to put things on  right track both human and infrastructural development on the plateau.

As Dr.Bulus has promised  with that with Mutfwang  performance within the shortest period in  office, the  appointees of the governor will not afford to do less or fail as they must  toll same paths of development of the Governor to support his efforts.

The Provost was speaking in an interview with journalists during 2024/25 matriculation of over 700 students to various department of college held at the school compound on Friday 14th March 2025.

He  wish the governor happy 60th birthday celebration and prayed God to grant him more years for the people of the state to benefit from his good and sincere intention to redirect the state to the path of development that would be the envy  of all.

Dr. Bulus leverage  on the opportunity to reels out some of his achievements made so far as provost of the college to  include :

revamping the students Union’s bank account which was hitherto not operational ,when I came on board as Provost of the college, the bank account for the students union body of the institution  was not in operation which as that  time  affecting  effective running of the union’s activities in the college which is currently  in operation.

In addition, portable drinking water and for domestic use by the staff and students of the college have been source of challenges in the college Community but I was able to sunk bole hole with solar energy to power it, right now the school can boost of 24 hours uninterrupted water supply.

Revealed that on assumption of mantle of leadership of the college,I meet 400 students of Medical Health Lab  Tech not index which means they are not qualify to write  professional exam that would qualify them to practice their medical profession.

Last year 2024 ,April to be precise,I traveled to Abuja meet with the regulatory body  ,I am happy to announce to you that the first batch of the students have written their professional exams last year,as another batch is getting prepared for the same exam by April 2025.

The Provost further explained the implications of being index, which means the students admitted since 2019 where not inducted because we need to clear the backlog.

Revealed that with the index of students putting to rest,  the college have been given go ahead to admit fresh students in the college.

Dr.Bulus further explained that before now the school is always throw into darkness when the electricity supply is temper with ,but under my watch,I have been able to fix solar lights in some of the strategic places in the college which helps to luminate  the school  when major electricity supply is tempered with by major electricity supply.

The Provost who is matriculating students Into the college for the first term since assumption of office as Provost revealed that the college is Matriculating  over 700 students Into various departments of the institution.

Earlier in his welcome address, Dr.Bulus adviced the students to leverage on the huge investment their  parents are committing into their education despite they did not have the opportunity to attain  education themselves.

Remained them that their parents are taking the investment risk by giving them education with the hope that when you finish your studies ,you will reciprocate the good gesture by upscaling their standard of living for the better.

Further remained them to know that resources are hard, and they should not renegade on the huge sacrifices made by their parents for sending them to school, but work hard to make them happy not to regret on while they took such unwarranted risk of sending them to school.

He advised them to prioritize their education over social activities and don’t allow social activities over ride their education.

Stressed that the plans of the management of the college is to upscaling the institution to a level that can be compared with other health Institutions in  the world.

“It’s is our prayers and vision for our students to seek  greener pastures elsewhere after their academic pursuit in the college,

“We don’t want our students after graduation to remain here in the country,if God allows it,let them found more prospect outside the shores of this country where live will be more favourable with them.”

” The global world is dynamic,life is changing,so change with it to achieve what you want to achieve, once that is done ,you have the whole time in the world to do other things you want to do”.

He advised the students to adhered with the laws guarding the conducts of the college and make the handbook containing the school’s “Rules and Regulations” their daily manual to avoid breaching the law .

” Don’t want a situation where you are caught ,you say you don’t know ,at that point the management of the school may not listening to your plea “.

Charged patents to assist the school to always advice their children and wards, because as management, it pains us for expelling students after much resources have been expended on their academic for violation of the school rules and regulations which by implications they will not get certificate of the college.

In her words of admonition to the Matriculants , plateau state Commissioner for education, Dr.Kachellom Gang congrats the students for getting identity, because with the matriculation ceremony ,they have now gotten identity because they would be provided with Matriculation Number which is going to be their identity as students of the college.

The Commissioner represented by Mr Ayuba Wuyep from the ministry, further adviced the students that they are in the right college as the government is satisfy with the services so far provided by the school ,but charged the management to do more.

However urged the staff to cooperate with the management of the institution to move the college to greater hight , however adviced the management to watch out for character and learning which are prescribed as the two essential ingredients in issuing certificate to students.

The high point of the occasion is the administering of oaths  to the Matriculating students by the oath Commissioner barrister Sunday pokyes.

The Plateau state government has debunked the insinuations making the around in some quarters that he has banned artisan mining in the state with signing the Executive Order Code Name (001) into Law .

As the state government said contrary to the speculations and believe,he did not ban the activities of Artisan miners in the state,but temporarily suspended  to give enough room for regulating the activities of Artisan miners (illegal),in the state.

The Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication honourable Joyce Lohya Ramnap made the clarification in an interview with journalists  during the occasion of the celebration of governor Caleb Mutfwang 60th birthday held at the Victoria Gowon Hall New Government House Little Rayfied,  Jos South local Government Area of the state.

The information Commissioner said is better for the people in the state to know what is going on, it’s not total banning of mining on the plateau contrary to speculations, but temporal suspension of mining activities in the state.

The spokes spokesperson in the state further explain that before the suspension, you will agreed with me the challenges that come with  this illegal mining activities in the state.

Added that mining activities is never a bad thing to the state in particular and the citizens as a whole because it serves as source of revenue for the state,and activities that has put plateau state in a positive map of the world.

But quick to add that there are some issues the government needs to clarify , among which is insecurity Challenges because of the proliferation of mining related activities in the state.

Also pointed out child molestation also among the reasons behind  government temporary ban of the activities of illegal mining exploration where the mining pond have become death traps in the state which they called “GOTO” in the mining palace when they go in, they are trapped they died inside.And people are dying daily in the mining ponds in the state,she lamented.

She revealed that with the above listed reasons it’s eminent for the state government to take urgent steps to address the issues hence the signing of the Executive Order Code Name (001).

Stressed that the reasons behind the Order is to put the mining activities in the state on hold,and look at it framework, on how our people are taking care of, have agreement with those illegal miners to know if we have a platform where the artisan miners have a Voice on the Plateau.

She said those are some  of the issues the government need to be looking at.

“At the end of the co-operation between the state and federal government,the decision the state government is able to come up with as a result of these technical Committee , they can then meet with the federal government and get it done better.These are some of the reasons for Government Executive Order (001)”. 

He commended the Journalists on the Plateau for the good work they have  been doing by telling the plateau stories.

And hope that the synergy will continue, and encourage them to do more by continue to tell plateau positive stories to the world.

However appeal to  Journalists to be a good ambassador of  the state by projecting the positively to international communities by projecting  the state in positive light.

He urged Journalists to leverage on the peace that has return to the state through their various reportage to encourage investors to come and invest in the state.She maintained.

The Independent Publishers Association(IPA), plateau state chapter has  commend Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, for revamping the hitherto Moribund state owned newspaper “The Nigeria Standard, which over the years was left to its fate of deterioration by previous administrations .

Which placed no value in appreciating its past performance and service to the nation, its importance in the current dispensation of keeping the state informed and maintenance of J.D. Gomwalk’s legacies. 

The commendations is contained in a press statement dated 10th March 2025 signed by the Chairman of (IPA),in the state, Shabul Mazadu and made available to this medium in Jos.

Mutfwang has greatly improved the quality of the paper and sustain its bi-weekly production.

This gesture of revamping the newspaper is timely, most especially now that data tariffs have risen so high that is much cheaper to buy hard copies of newspapers to read than reading them on internet. 

IPA wishes to make the following requests:

– The Nigeria Standard should have journalists in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, to report first hand and current happenings around the Country.

-All Government Primary and Secondary Schools should be given copies of every edition and there should be time table for pupils and students to go to libraries to read, this will revive the dead reading culture in schools. 

–  The Government should encourage all the LGs to have vendors stands in their domain so as to reach places where there are no mobiles’ network and those who love reading hard copies of newspapers to meet their hobby.  

The production of the newspaper should be increased to five times a week. 

Community papers too should be put into consideration for patronage to complement the dissemination of information, and boost employment too. 

It is worthy to note that every Community newspaper have the following benefiting :

 journalists, editors, graphic designers, those doing separation and those doing impression (printers), paper vendors, paper trimmers, transporters and newspaper vendors. 

The government also benefits as taxes are paid and VAT secured. 

IPA, is indeed happy with the development of reinvigorating the Nigeria Standard by the current government and encourages it to do more until it regains its place as the leading paper in Nigeria. 

IPA wish to call on our reasonable and forward looking State and Federal Legislators, stakeholders and elder statesmen to encourage the paper to grow by patronizing it, because it is our pride. 

We cannot afford to allow ours to rot while we sustain others’ with patronage. 

We call on our youth to awake to reading hard copies of newspapers because there are more news they stand to read from print than online at very cheap rates.

 To read a complete newspaper online can take 11-13 GB which is about N4000 – N5000 depending on the network, while hard copies are N250 to N300, depending on the medium. 

Hard copies can easily be reached for references, and can be stored for many years. 

What actually happened was that, Nasir El-Rufai tried to compel My Husband to divorce Me and Marry a Muslim Lady from the North if My Husband truly wants His support, and that of the North in picking a Christian from the North as Vice President.

El-Rufai said that *since I have no biological Child for my husband, that I’m ineligible to be called a wife and 1st Lady, but the Almighty God shamed El-Rufai, and made My husband to love and stood by Me.

Gov.Caleb Mutfwang Eulogies The Late Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Describes Him As A Champion Of National Unity And Progress.

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has paid glowing tribute to the late Pa Ayo Adebanjo, describing him as a true nationalist who dedicated his life to the unity and progress of Nigeria. The elder statesman, who passed away recently at the age of 96, was widely revered for his steadfast commitment to justice, equity, and the rights of the downtrodden.

Governor Mutfwang made these remarks when he led a delegation of ethnic nationalities from Plateau and some states in Northern Nigeria on a condolence visit to the residence of the late Pa Adebanjo in Lekki, Lagos State.

He said the late Afenifere leader was a fountain of knowledge, a symbol of wisdom, and a beacon of hope and courage who remained steadfast in his advocacy for a just and inclusive Nigeria across the six geopolitical zones.

“I got to know Pa Ayo Adebanjo towards the later years of his life, but he left an indelible mark on me.

 He was a fearless advocate for fairness and justice, and his lifelong struggle for the less privileged resonated deeply with me, dating back to the Second Republic. I followed his trajectory with great admiration.”

Governor Mutfwang urged Nigerians, especially the younger generation, to draw inspiration from Pa Adebanjo’s unwavering patriotism, emphasizing that his life was a testament to the belief that Nigeria is worth fighting for.

Reflecting on his personal encounter with the late sage, Governor Mutfwang recalled how Pa Adebanjo traveled from Lagos to Jos during his legal battle at the election tribunal to offer encouragement and assure him that God would restore his mandate. The Governor said that singular act of solidarity would remain engraved in his memory for decades.

The Governor noted that the composition of the delegation accompanying him underscored how deeply the people of Plateau and the wider Northern Nigeria valued Pa Adebanjo’s wisdom and counsel.

On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, he extended heartfelt condolences to Mama, the children, and the entire Afenifere family, praying for God’s continued strength and comfort in this period of grief.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mrs. Adeola Azeez, daughter of the deceased, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Mutfwang for leading a high-powered delegation all the way from Jos.

She added that her father’s passing should serve as a catalyst for strengthening national unity and fostering greater cohesion among Nigerians for a more prosperous and just nation.

Similarly, the acting leader of Afenifere, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, thanked Governor Mutfwang and the Middle Belt leaders for their visit.

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has paid glowing tribute to the late Pa Ayo Adebanjo, describing him as a true nationalist who dedicated his life to the unity and progress of Nigeria. The elder statesman, who passed away recently at the age of 96, was widely revered for his steadfast commitment to justice, equity, and the rights of the downtrodden.

Governor Mutfwang made these remarks when he led a delegation of ethnic nationalities from Plateau and some states in Northern Nigeria on a condolence visit to the residence of the late Pa Adebanjo in Lekki, Lagos State.

He said the late Afenifere leader was a fountain of knowledge, a symbol of wisdom, and a beacon of hope and courage who remained steadfast in his advocacy for a just and inclusive Nigeria across the six geopolitical zones.

“I got to know Pa Ayo Adebanjo towards the later years of his life, but he left an indelible mark on me.

 He was a fearless advocate for fairness and justice, and his lifelong struggle for the less privileged resonated deeply with me, dating back to the Second Republic. I followed his trajectory with great admiration.”

Governor Mutfwang urged Nigerians, especially the younger generation, to draw inspiration from Pa Adebanjo’s unwavering patriotism, emphasizing that his life was a testament to the belief that Nigeria is worth fighting for.

Reflecting on his personal encounter with the late sage, Governor Mutfwang recalled how Pa Adebanjo traveled from Lagos to Jos during his legal battle at the election tribunal to offer encouragement and assure him that God would restore his mandate. The Governor said that singular act of solidarity would remain engraved in his memory for decades.

The Governor noted that the composition of the delegation accompanying him underscored how deeply the people of Plateau and the wider Northern Nigeria valued Pa Adebanjo’s wisdom and counsel.

On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, he extended heartfelt condolences to Mama, the children, and the entire Afenifere family, praying for God’s continued strength and comfort in this period of grief.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mrs. Adeola Azeez, daughter of the deceased, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Mutfwang for leading a high-powered delegation all the way from Jos.

 She described the visit as a touching gesture of solidarity and stated that the family found solace in the outpouring of love and support.

She added that her father’s passing should serve as a catalyst for strengthening national unity and fostering greater cohesion among Nigerians for a more prosperous and just nation.

Similarly, the acting leader of Afenifere, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, thanked Governor Mutfwang and the Middle Belt leaders for their visit. 

He emphasized that Pa Adebanjo’s legacy of truth, fairness, and national justice must be upheld, adding that the solidarity shown by the Northern delegation would forge stronger ties between the Afenifere nation and other progressive forces across Nigeria.

Former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Beni Lar, presented a condolence letter on behalf of the Lar family, recalling how her late father, Chief Solomon Lar, and Pa Adebanjo stood shoulder to shoulder in defending democracy and championing the rights of the downtrodden.

Member Representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency at the at the Federal House of Representatives,Hon. Daniel Asama’s 3-Day Free Medical Outreach and Distributions of essential medical supply to 12 PHCs and 4 tertiary Institutions across the Constituency has ended in Jos,the state capital.

The medical initiatives of the honourable Member Daniel Asama to ameliorate the medical problems of the people in the Constituency following the harsh economic reality in the country billed to last  3-days,from February 27-1st March 2025 finally and successfully come to an end.

The 3-day Free Medical Outreach, which witness the distributions of Essential Drugs and Medical Supplies to 12 Primary Healthcare Clinics (PHCs) and 4 Tertiary Health Institutions across the Constituency.

The impactful initiative focused on addressing critical health challenges, particularly glaucoma and other eye-related illnesses, which silently threaten the sight of many. Over 2,000 medicated glasses and essential eye medications were freely distributed, providing much-needed relief and treatment to thousands of beneficiaries.

Hon. Asama reiterated the importance of prioritizing Healthcare, especially during these challenging economic times, emphasizing that only a healthy person can truly support their family and community. He noted that the intervention was driven by:

✅ Rising Healthcare costs burdening the people.

✅ His mandate to deliver life-impacting programs.

✅ A deep passion for Humanitarian Service.

As part of the program, 12 PHCs across Bassa and Jos North LGAs received vital medical supplies to strengthen Primary care services, while Plateau Specialist Hospital, Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital also benefited to boost their capacity in handling critical cases.

Hon. Asama expressed gratitude to the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) for their collaboration, assuring constituents of his continued dedication to improving Healthcare access and delivery.

Residents have widely celebrated the intervention as historic, noting that no previous representative has delivered such a large-scale medical program in the constituency.

The 3-day outreach has left a lasting impact, bringing free eye care, treatment, and essential medications to thousands across Bassa and Jos North.

The Chairperson “No Woman No Nation” a Non Governmental Organization (NGO), plateau State chapter Ambassador Dr.Ruth Obadiah has  facilitated the empowerment of full fledged registered woman under the umbrella of the Organisation.

As the Chairperson who just  add another color to her title as “Resafel President African Network of Women Leader”in the state had worked extra hard to facilitate Fifty Thousand Naira empowerment for the bona- fide registered member of women of the Organisation and provide them with liquid fertilizer to help boost their farm yields.

Mrs Obadiah who doubled as Alternative Medicine Practitioner in the state disclosed this to journalists in an exclusive interview held in her clinic complex along police barrack road  behind St-Theasa Catholic Church in Jos the plateau state capital.

Ambassador Dr. Nendi Ruth Fidelis Nee Obadiah ,who is the Chief Executive(CEO), Nenyurka Nig Ltd and Nenyitue Ventures said the Organisation “No Woman No Nation”have been in existence since 2023 but plateau state chapter just Inaugurated February 2024 which she is the current Chairperson In the state.

She disclosed  that during the state Inauguration last year ,we were able to  Inaugurates all the state executives around the 17 Local Government of the state.

Further explained that before then, the NGO was set up with the aim of women empowerment, vulurable, Orphans and widows since then,the Organisation where able to access empowerment for the women in the state who are registered member of the NGO of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000), numbering over thousand women beneficiaries.

She further explained that after the Inauguration of the state executives, she embarked on tour of the 17 Local Government to empower the women in the rural community who were mostly farmers and empower them with liquid fertilizer .

The state Chairperson of “No Woman No Nation ” who just bagged another International  NGO appointment to represent Nigeria, 

” Resafel President African Network Leaders”,

 said the next plans of the NGO in the state  is on how to train the women majorly on how they can package their products for exports beyond the state and other African Countries.

“We want to encourage our women on business,so far, they have improved significantly in farming activities by assisting them with liquid fertilizer which they are currently happy about”.

She further revealed that currently there is federal government empowerment 

and SMEDA which made possible through the Director General(DG)of the NGO.

Dr.Ruth further said after now she will embark on local government tour which is not going to pose much problems because they have already existing structures in every local government, state which is going to be an easy ride to the ward level.

The Newly appointed “Resafel President” said the training of the women at the local governments across the state on how to package their farm produce to attract market not just local,but internationally, would have commence earlier ,but because of my invitation in Niger by NGO for the Inauguration of it president contributed to the training.

She revealed that because of his anticident in championing the course of women,the Niger based NGO nominated me to be their president in Nigeria and also give me the mandate to appoint leaders in all the Thirty Six (36) states of the federation including Abuja.

She said the NGO which  has it name   ” Resafel African Network Leaders”    have already had 16 African members Countries, when l get the Mandate ,l we then move to see the Minister of Women Affairs with the view to register the NGO.

Explained that the NGO will be represented in the Thirty Six states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory while  I will be the president,but I have gotten some few capable hands already  with the responsibility of coordinating the state when the New NGO kick start operation in the country in no distance time.

“The NGO also aimed at empowering Women, Vulurable, force marriage and widows,I pick interest on anything that have to do with women because is part of my ministry.

Basically, what I do is Alternative Medicine “.

The Dr.of Alternative Medicine and the Chairperson No Woman No Nation in plateau state Dr.Ruth Obadiah said the question people normally ask is while all her programs tinted towards women folks?

” I am not a politician,in most cases the women folks are used by politians and dump them when they climbed to the top through the support of women to the apex of their political career.”

They use these women during elections and dump them after the election,so we want to organize these women to add value to what  ever they are doing  instead of following politicians and feeding from the crumbs from the table that doesn’t take them anywhere.

” When I went on tour at the 17 LGAs,I warned the women against leaving  their business following  politicians waiting for hours in their Senatorial offices that hours would have been judiciously  spend in their respective businesses.”

She revealed that the NGO is not a political party but just a pressure group set up to influence the actions of the government in power through peaceful means where it failed otherwise can be applied.

“We also advice the women during our local government tour to adopt the use of organic fertilizer so that we can be getting those products from them that are chemical free , that was the reason why I took time and move round the 17 local government sharing organic fertilizer to the women at the rural areas.”

Non Governmental Organization(NGO) “No Woman No Nation” Plateau state Chapter is set to commence Exportation of olive oil and ingredients for making local delicacy Soup “Kuka” to international market.

This because most of the women have the products,they don’t have the markets occasion by their level of awareness and exposure cause by their level of education.

The Chairperson “No Woman No Nation” in Plateau state Dr. Ruth Obadiah revealed this in an interview with our reporter in her office in Jos.

She said the products are commonly found in Pankshin and Kanke  in abundant , said research revealed that olive oil from Pankshin is  one of the best after that of Israel.

She said if well harnessed, it will be a source of revenue generation for Plateau  state which will increase the (IGR),by extension Nigeria as a whole, hence the need to join force with the women in those locality where these products are produce using the instrumentality of the NGO “No Woman  No Nation” and start exporting it to those country who are desperately in need of it.

The state chairperson of “No Woman No Nation” in the state ,Dr Ruth Obadiah further revealed that the NGO have even teached the women how to prosses sweet potatoes and use it inform of Semovita which is a diet recommended for patients living with diabetes.

Stressed as a Nero pathy doctor, we use fruits and vegetables to treat our parents here at the clinic.

She further explained that the next step of the NGO is to embark on training of the women on how to Process the products we are having locally in other to add value so that we can become expert.

” We are sending Olive -Oil  to our plateau  people in Gombe ,in doing so we help in boosting their market.”

“This while I have the passion to reach these women, because nobody have reached there to educate or train them on what to do with these their valuable products.”

She further explained thatLast year 2024 ,women were desperately looking  for local soup ingredients (Kuka),and with the  research carried  out,it was discovered that Wase and Mikan LG in Plateau are having these products in a commercial quantities.

The Chairperson said she has instructed  women of affected local government to improve in packaging their products properly to attract market locally  and  export .

She narrated her encounter with the state government,the wife of the governor to be specific ,as the NGO have written several letters of notification of  our intent to pay her courtesy call ,as we speak,no reply  in any means to our correspondence. 

The Dr lauded the PLSMEDA for given the NGO the opportunity to pay her courtesy call .We really need partnership   ,because the Organisation is a baby one.

“We are looking for partners that can partner  with us so that we can empower these women.”

” We are grateful to PLSMEDA for giving us fifteen forms”.

Decried the challenges in handling these women to include the level of their awareness to matters, as majority of them are not even having bank account of their own.

We have also paid courtesy call to Equal And Gender Commission with the aim of making them familiarize with the commission and discuss the need to partner with them.

Non Governmental Organization (NGO), under the auspices of Women  Economic Empowerment (WEE),has decried the frightening gender gaps in Nigeria ,called for argent steps to bridge the gap to avoid its unimaginable negative effects on the country Gross Domestics Products (GDP),of the country in no distance time.

Said that the gap of obvious  discrimination and disparity between male and that of their female folks still exist despite  the overwhelming statistics of the numbers of female folk of 49 percent of Nigeria population they still face significant Economic barriers.

The Plateau state officer for Women Economic Empowerment (WEE),who doubled as the resource person at the Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) , Sunday Idoko made the frightening disclosure during the women Economic Empowerment (WEE), workshop held 22nd February 2025 at the Bishop Court in Jos , plateau state.

Mr Idoko further revealed that despite the high percentage of  women which is about 49 percent,the female  folks are still been marginalize in all facets of human endeavors.

Add that they still grappled with  unbearable poverty,as statistics revealed that no fewer than 70 percent of women in Nigeria are still leaving in abject poverty ln Nigeria.

Further revealed that 70-80 percent of Women in Nigeria engaged in Agricultural  labour ,but regretted that out of the numbers, only 10 percent have the opportunity to own land.

On financial inclusion,the NGO lamented that out of  45 percent of the women folks in Nigeria, only insignificant number have access to financial inclusion compare to their male counterpart in the country.

Stressed that on corporate and Education representations, statistics has also revealed that 5 percent of girls child in Nigeria completed secondary schools as compared to the male of 67 percent of that of boys.

Added that on corporate representation, research showed that only 1in 5 board members of Nigerian companies are women.

To put an end to this frightening gap between male and female ,WEE advocates for increase women participation from 55-65 percent financial inclusion , from 45-75 to boost   women access to financial services , Agriculture, their percentage should scale up from 19-30 percent.

However sues for increase of women  enrollment in our primary , secondary and tertiary institutions  to 75 percent, corporate leadership 25, and women in stem 40 percent responsibility.

In his goodwill message the Senior Ward Head of Jenta Adamu community Da Cabala Bako Bwede appreciated the organiser of workshop ,promise to take it back to his domain in consideration for to be replicated in his domain .

The Senior Ward Head further revealed that though there are women in his cabinet, with this program which serve as eyes opener ,he would ensure number of the women participating in the activities in the domain are increased.

The Speaker Plateau State House Assembly Rt.Hon. Kudangbena Gabriel Dewan has Salutes Muslims Ummah in plateau state in particular and Nigeria in General as they commence Ramadan.

The Speaker’s Salutation message is contained in a  press statement  dated 2nd March 2025 signed by the chairman of Independent Publishers Association (IPA), Mr Shabul Mazadu and made available to this medium in Jos.

The Speaker urged the Muslims to use the fasting period as a sober reflection and pray against evil plans on plateau state and by extension Nigeria and to forgive us our short comings.

He admonished Muslims to use this holy  month of Ramadan to pray and imbibe  the spirit of supporting one another during this special holy month of Ramadan and there after.

However advice them to use this period and after to embrace the values of compassion , generosity and forgiveness which the virtues of good Muslims.

Stressed they should pray for those in power for  Almighty Allah to give them more wisdom to lead the people on the right paths of Allah for the benefits of all.
