Following the recent unrest at Banex Plaza in Wuse, Abuja, on Saturday 18th May 2024, by yet to be identified hoodlums who launched a brutal attack on some Nigerian Army personnel, a swift intervention by soldiers and policemen on internal security duties salvaged the situation and rescued the attacked personnel from being lynched by the hoodlums.
It is important to note that the soldiers attacked were unarmed, did not engage in any form of aggression, and posed no threat to anyone,therefore, the cruel treatment meted out to the Army was entirely unwarranted and unjustifiable.
The condenmation over the attack of Army is contained in a Press statement dated 21st May 2024 signed by Major General Onyema Nwachkwu Army Public Relations Officer and made available to this medium.
According to the statement,in response to this unfortunate incident, a meeting was convened with the management of Banex Plaza to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act by temporarily shutting down activities in the plaza to ensure that the hoodlums who have been using the Banex neighborhood as a sanctuary to pose a security threat to the Federal Capital Territory were apprehended.
This the statement said is in furtherance of the need for extensive investigation to be conducted at the scene to determine both the immediate and underlying causes of this mayhem.
This investigation ultimately aims at ensuring the security of the Federal Capital Territory and to prevent such unwarranted attacks on our personnel and other security operatives, as has been observed in other areas, such as the unfortunate attack in Okuama.
The Nigerian Army will equally ensure that it diligently investigates the circumstances surrounding the presence of the personnel at the plaza and the attack that ensued.
Nonetheless, such acts of violence against personnel are not only condemnable, but could degenerate to a breakdown of law and order, orchestrating threats to national security.
Accordingly, the NA enjoined members of the public to exercise caution and restraint in dealing with military personnel and other security operatives, especially when they are in uniform.
There are established channels through which grievances or misconduct by personnel could be reported to the appropriate authorities. It is imperative that these channels are utilized to maintain order and respect for those who serve and protect our nation.
The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, in recognition of the vital role played by the Plateau State Government in ensuring the safety and security of all residents of Plateau State, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at his residence in the Old Government House Rayfield, Jos on 20th May, 2024.
During the visit, the Commissioner of Police expressed his genuine appreciation to the Governor for the continual and unfailing support given to the Police in the discharge of their constitutional duties.
The CP went on to intimate his excellency on some of the operational strategies he has adopted since his assumption of duty, which includes the visitation of flashpoints and troubled areas, and the deployment of adequate personnel to those areas in order to enhance the security situation in the state.
The Plateau State Police Command is also collaborating with other security agencies, as well as critical stakeholders as part of its community policing initiatives.
The Commissioner of Police expressed his readiness to key into the vision and programmes of His Excellency, towards ensuring the peace and security of Plateau State.
The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang commended the Commissioner of Police for his proactive approach to the security situation of the State, while recognizing the important role played by the Police in the affairs of internal security.

Operations SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) Saturday 18th May 2024 organized a seminar for critical stakeholders towards achieving a successful farming season in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The seminar with the theme *”Peaceful Coexistence Towards a Successful Farming Season”* was held at the DM Bello Multipurpose Hall, Sanga Local Government Council Headquarters Gwantu and drew participants cutting across all sides of the divide.
Also, in attendance at the seminar were government officials, heads of security agencies, traditional rulers, youth and women leaders as well as civil society organizations.
In the keynote address, the Commander OPSH and GOC 3 Division Nigerian Army, Major General AE Abubakar stressed the importance of the seminar which would facilitate a hitch free farming season and also highlighted the crucial role played by the Agricultural Sector in the overall development of any nation.
He therefore urged the stakeholders to create an enabling environment for farming and herding activities to be carried out side by side without fear or conflict. He however warned misguided persons who may wish to disrupt farming activities this year to have a rethink as OPSH will not hesitate to decisively deal with such criminals in line with extant laws.
On their parts, the guest speakers who spoke on the theme emphasized the need for upholding the sanctity of human lives by desisting from indiscriminate attacks. They also collectively urged the participants to tolerate one another and learn to forgive grievances from the past as reprisals would only lead to further losses which would further aggravate poverty.
They also pointed out that a successful farming season is only possible in an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for one another. The resource persons also endorsed the Bottom – Top Crisis Resolution Mechanism of OPSH which ensures that all peace efforts are transmitted to the lowest echelon and consequently advised the participants to use all avenues to pass the message of peace to their followers and wards.
Highpoint of the seminar was the interactive session during which participants cutting across all sides of the divide lauded the initiative by Operation SAFE HAVEN and promised to do their best to ensure peaceful coexistence towards attaining a successful farming season in Sanga Local Government Area.
At the end of the seminar, writing materials were presented to some schools as part of Civil-Military Cooperation activities. Additionally, one of the pre-primary school was presented with a Merry-Go-Round facility to aid the pupils’ physical fitness training.
The Commander also used the opportunity to visit the Forward Operating Base Sanga where he was briefed on the current operational activities of the unit. He also commissioned the newly constructed Administrative Area for troops at Ancha Area Command.
Also, as part of efforts to the tempo of kinetic operations, the commander commissioned some combat motorcycles to aid the mobility of troops into the difficult terrain of the adjoining areas.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has encouraged intending pilgrims from the state to embody the values of love, peace, and tolerance as they embark on the sacred journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj.

Hon. Daiyabu Dauda, the Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, commended Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his support of the Muslim community in the state.
He noted that the Governor’s sponsorship of 540 out of 1,232 pilgrims, the approval of funds for the resettlement of backlog deposits and the procurement of a bus for the board demonstrated a deep commitment to the well-being of the Muslim Ummah.

Sequel to on going demolitions of illegal structures and shops in Jos and Bukuru Metropolis which has leave affected traders in pains and anguish, Traders under the aegis of Kara Market in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government of plateau State has taken their cry to the State Government under the leadership of Barrister Caleb Mutfwang with the appeal to halt the planned relocation of the market to security volatile area.
As the traders claimed Plans has been concluded by the state government and it agency , Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) to relocate the market who deals on cattle to another area yet to be disclosed .
The traders make the passionate appeal to governor Mutfwang and JMDB during Press briefing held at the market in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government 16th May 2024 signed by the Chairman of Cattles Traders Association Bukuru branch Mallam Abba.
The statement reads, it’s no longer rumor that the state government and it agency JMDB has concluded plans to relocate the Kara Cattle Market from it current location to another place yet to revealed to the association.
They claimed that the state government didn’t notify them of her intentions to relocate the market to another place as claimed by malam Abba the chairman of cattle traders association .
As against this backdrop, we are using this medium to appeal to the state government because he is a listening governor that have the interest of the citizens at heart and wouldn’t embark on project that will bring sorrow and anguish to the people let alone those who voted him into power.
They further appealed to the government and its agency to put on hold further demolition and planed relocation of over 80 years old existed Cattle Market and engage the traders in dialogue for peaceful resolutions.
The Bukuru Cattle Traders Association make it clear that they are not challenging the policies and programs of the government to decongest the state city center and give way to free flow of operations of the launched Tin City Metro Buses and rail transport in the state,but in view of security challenges currently bedeviling the state in particular and Nigeria in general ,it will not be encouraged and advisable to relocate the market from it present location for benefit of the traders who are always in procession of huge amount of money for their cattle business, it’s on this premise, that we are appealing with Governor Caleb Mutfwang to consider our plight.
The traders brandishing placards with different inscriptions to register their disapproval for planned relocation recalled some of their experiences in time past when the corpse of missing Army General , Major General Idris Alkali (rtd),was found along with cattle Van, and some of the properties which allegedly belonged to our members where discovered in the General’s car in a Pond at Dura Du.
The Association also used the Press conference to reminisce back few years back when graveyard where they bury their dead, members were attacked on their way from the cemetery where they went to bury their dead, some of their people where severely beaten ,same killed and corpses belonging to the Bukuru community who undoubtedly are the main dominant of the market where exhumed and mutilated.
Further lamented that their freedom of free movement is greatly tempered with as they can hardly move to some areas within the communities with palpable fear of being attacked base on religious discrimination.
It’s on these reasons and other too numerous to mention we the Cattle Market Community in Bukuru , Jos South Local Government are passionately appealing with Governor Mutfwang and it Agency, JMDB to reconsider the plans to relocate the Kara Cattles market.
“We are also appealing to the government to look at the economic situations of the country and it negative effects mostly on less disadvantage in the society, what will be the faith of the boys who earn their daily living in the market.”
The Community complained betterly of plateau state government neglect on the community in terms of social , political and economic welfare, our children are discriminated against, barred from all sort of benefits like scholarships and employments at the state civil service , but only depends solely on the market for survival.
They draw the attention of the government to the importance of the market to social economic development of the state in particular and Nigeria as a whole as the market remains among one of the functioning Cattle market in the entire Northern Nigeria with people coming from all worlds of lives to sell or buy cattles in the market.
However reminded the government categories of people that would lost their daily living if the market is relocated to place security is being threatened to include food vendors, veterinary doctors practitioner, Pharmaceutical stores,
Chemist and provisions stores.
Others groups likely to loose their daily living from the market according to the community are those who off-load and load Cattles and other animals brought to the market for sale or buy.
Kara market market is a meeting point for fostering the bond of unity across tribal religious and political lines because of different people they meet to transact businesses in the market on daily bases and discuss things of common interests irrespective of religious background . The community maintained.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has pledged support to the Nigerian Correctional Service in fulfilling its core mandate of reformation, rehabilitation, and integrating inmates who have completed their jail terms back into society.
Governor Mutfwang made this commitment during a courtesy visit to the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Services, Haliru Nababa, at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service in Abuja.
He commended the Comptroller-General for his dedication to transforming inmates through skills acquisition programs, making them valuable contributors to society upon their release.
Governor Mutfwang also expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General for initiating the construction of a 2000 capacity correctional facility in Jos East Local Government Area, saying it will go a long way in fulfilling the mandate of the service.
He also congratulated the Comptroller-General on his appointment and announced plans to establish a committee to visit the 3000 capacity ultra-modern custodial centre in Jangkuza, Kano state, with the aim of replicating it in Plateau.
The Governor assured the service of the state government’s full support in carrying out its constitutional responsibilities within Plateau State.
Response, the Comptroller-General, Haliru Nababa, appreciated Governor Mutfwang’s visit, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the working relationship between the service and the Plateau State government.

In the spirit of Inter-Agency cooperation and synergy, the Commandant, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), …. today paid a courtesy visit to the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, *CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, psc* at the Command headquarters here in Jos.
The meeting aimed to familiarise with the Police Command, as well as seek for the cooperation of the Police anytime they are performing their constitutional mandate. The two chiefs discussed extensively on ways through which the two agencies can partner for the greater good of Plateau residents.

The Special Task Force Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) has inaugurated a new 17-man Peace Committee to implement modalities to achieve lasting peace in Irigwe Land and the entire Bassa LGA and environs.
Recall that Operation SAFE HAVEN has continued to explore all avenues to find lasting solution to the lingering crisis which manifest in attacks and reprisals in Plateau State. Earlier, Operation SAFE HAVEN constituted a 36-Man Joint Committee on 11 Sep 21 to work out modalities to achieve peace and reconciliation between the various tribes in Bassa, Jos North and South as well as Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
In furtherance of peace building efforts in Irigwe Land, the Mbra Ngwe of Irigwe Land inaugurated a 17-Man Implementation Committee to implement the recommendations of the 36-Man Committee as it affects Irigwe Land.
However, the activities of the Committee declined over time and issues of redundancy led to a relapse in the peace building efforts in Irigwe Land as at last week. This necessitated the dissolution of the former committee on 10 May 2024 and the subsequent establishment of a new 17-Man Peace Committee in Irigwe Land which was inaugurated today 15 May 2024 at Headquarters 3 Division Auditorium.
Speaking at the inauguration event held at Headquarters 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA), the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar urged the committee members not to be partisan in the discharge of their tasks, thereby leaving no room for reservations from parties involved. The commander pledged the operation’s readiness to continually work with other security agencies to drive home the peace agenda of Plateau State Government. He further tasked the committee members to ensure the implementation of the recommendations within three months to facilitate peaceful coexistence in the area.
In their separate remarks, the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman Bassa LGA represented by Mr Asuhik Adik and Director-General, Plateau Peace Building Agency represented by Mr Elkanah Izam, advised the committee to shun tribalism during the course of the assignment.
They maintained that the formation of the committee has enhanced civil-military relations, creating an avenue for rapid response to resolving communal conflicts and other minor security challenges.
In his remarks, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Ephraim Usman said the formation of the committee was a step in the right direction towards furthering the peace process embarked upon by the State Government.
The governor urged the committee members to work in harmony to achieve the objectives of the committee. He further pledged government’s continuous support to Operation SAFE HAVEN and its operations.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the chairman of the peace committee, Mr Musa Audu, assured that the committee will discharge its duties diligently within the timeframe given by the commander.
Highlights of the event includes the swearing in of the committee members, presentation of engagement letters to the members, comments from invited guests and group photograph.
(OPSH) has hosted students of Junior Course 97 of the Department of Land Warfare, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji (AFCSC), Kaduna State.
Welcoming the officer students to Headquarters 3 Division, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar, informed the students that OPSH has fulfilled its responsibility of restoring peace and maintaining law and order within its Joint Operations Area (JOA), in support of civil authority.
The GOC/Comd OPSH, described the theme of the operational visit “Revitalizing Junior Leadership Training in the NA for Enhanced Operational Effectiveness in a Joint Environment” as relevant, providing students with valuable insights and perspectives that will enhance understanding of the challenges faced in combating insecurity on the Plateau, emphasizing the importance of junior commanders in achieving operational goals.
General Abubakar also stated, that the operational visit will afford students the opportunity to understand the operational environment and acquaint them with the challenges and constraints faced within the JOA.
He explained further, that OPSH is a people-centric operation which requires the holistic contributions of the people, government, and security agencies in addressing security challenges.
In his remarks, the representative of the commandant AFCSC, Colonel TH Malu, said junior commanders must be operationally trained to carry out their duties effectively on the field.
The team leader also added that, ethical and moral training of junior commanders will reawaken their sense of responsibility, thereby helping them in decision making through adequate mentorship while on operational duty.
Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the students, Capt I Sani, said students have been equipped with the knowledge of both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches in combating insecurity within OPSH JOA. He disclosed that knowledge gained during the operational visit will be put into good use during their stay in the college.
During the operational visit, the students are expected to visit formations of sister agencies in Plateau State to deepen their knowledge of the complexities inherent in the security architecture of the state.
Highlights of the visit includes presentation of brief on the activities of OPSH, interactive session, presentation of souvenirs, and group photograph.

Plateau Police command has paraded alleged suicide bomber arrested at the verged of making efforts to detonate the bomb devices .
The commissioner of police Plateau State command CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina revealed this when parading the suspected bomber and other criminals before journalists at the command headquarters in jos , plateau state capital on Tuesday 14th May 2024 .
According to the police boss in the state, CP Adesina, said on13th May, 2024 at about 12pm, the police received a distress call from UBA Sparkling Junction, Dadin Kowa, reporting a suspected armed robber who had entered the banking hall with suspected explosive devices tied around his body, and handed over a note to the cashier demanding for the sum of 100 Million Naira under the threat that the explosives would be detonated if his request is not granted.
The bank attendant immediately reported to the manager of the bank who swiftly reported to the Police at Rantya division and evacuated the customers from the bank.
The police boss further said on sighting the Police vehicle, the suspect panicked and started running out of the bank,in the process, our Police officers posted at the bank saw him running and pursued him with the help of the youths in the area, the suspect was arrested.
His name is Benjamin Basil male, a student of Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi Heipang Campus.
Also Paraded are suspended Armed Robbery and locally made gun recovered from him.
According to the police boss,on 7th May, 2024 at about 3pm, a report was received from the Wase Divisional headquarters, reporting that sometime in the month of February 2024, one Danladi Vennim male, while on his way to Jawando Village was attacked by armed hoodlums who snatched his Boxer motorcycle at gun point.
On receipt of the report, our team of Policemen led by the DPO Wase division immediately commenced investigation into the matter. Consequently, one Suleiman Mohamadu male, 26 years old was arrested in connection to the armed robbery incidence. Exhibits recovered from him include one locally fabricated AK47 riffle with one round of 7.63mm. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime.
Criminal Conspiracy armed robbery and Culpable homicide .
It will interest you to note that the command has arrested two suspects in connection to a criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and culpable homicide which was reported to us on 29th November, 2023 at about 11am which involved one Johnson Kanje male, 65 years old now late and one Suleiman Aliyu male. The suspects are: one Yuguda Abubakar, and one Hassan Yuguda both male of Safiyo, Bashar district. The suspects will be charged to court once our investigation is concluded.

On 13th May, 2024 at about 4pm, we received credible intelligence, revealing a location where kidnappers keep their victims hostage somewhere within Doemak Hills, Quan’pan LGA.
Upon receipt of the report, I ordered the immediate dispatch of a search party to the hideout, comprising of our Policemen and members of our security help groups.
On arriving at the scene, there was a hot gun battle between our men and the kidnappers. Due to our superior fire power, the suspects abandoned their victims, namely: one Dashe Dadoer 55years and one Noeman Lukas 30years, both male of Loegoet Tim village. The victims have been reunited to their families.
The case is currently under investigation at the state CID, to ascertain the validity of his claims and arrest possible suspects.

On a long term Measures by the government for Mitigation and Prevention he stressed that government must adopt Floodplain mapping and zoning,Identify high-risk areas and regulate development to prevent encroachment, Infrastructure upgrades,Implement flood-resistant construction and upgrade drainage systems.
Other long term measures of recommended by the researcher also includes Watershed management, Implement sustainable land-use practices, reforestation, soil conservation,Early warning systems.
Others are Establish a flood monitoring and prediction system to alert communities,Climate change adaptation, Integrate flood risk reduction into national climate change strategies, Federal government through the ecological fund can support the states with frequent flooding to undertake sustainable flood mitigations, Environmental scouting among the Communities can help sustain campaigns on flooding and other environmental disasters,Construction of dam along the Benue river at the upper side of the river in Adamawa state will help to check the frequent flooding.
On public long term measures he said they most adhere to Flood-risk awareness,Educate communities on flood risks and prevention measures, Sustainable land use, Adopt environmentally friendly practices, such as reforestation and soil conservation ,Community-led initiatives.
Others are to Organize local flood mitigation projects and support advocacy efforts, Insurance and risk transfer and Encourage flood insurance and risk transfer mechanisms to reduce financial burdens.
However recommend for the establishment of multi-stakeholder Flood Management Committee to coordinate efforts, Allocate dedicated funding for flood mitigation and response,Develop a National Flood Risk Management Plan.
The researcher further recommended incorporating international best practices,Encourage community participation and ownership in flood risk reduction initiatives.
Stressed that implementing these measures, the government and public can work together to reduce the impact of yearly flood disasters along the Benue River, protecting lives, livelihoods, and the environment.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supplying food palliatives to vulnerable persons in the state.
Governor Mutfwang, while receiving the assorted food commodities presented by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) from the National Strategic Reserve, also thanked the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for the thoughtful initiative to address the plight of vulnerable persons.
He urged the beneficiaries, mostly elderly, not to resell the items but to use them judiciously to alleviate the current economic hardships faced by their families.
The Governor assured that his administration would ensure all enlisted beneficiaries receive their share and announced an additional donation of more than 26,000 bags of rice to complement the federal government’s palliative.

The GOC made the revelation while receiving the Director General, Plateau State Peace Building Agency, Dr Julie Sanda on a courtesy call to Headquarters 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos on Friday.
He disclosed that non- kinentic approach such as key stakeholders’ engagements, town hall meetings, dialogues, sporting activities and enlightenment of locals in troubled areas have continue to yield positive results towards bringing warring communities together and fostering peaceful coexistence on the Plateau.
He further welcomed the idea of the Plateau Peace Building Agency’s effort towards synergizing and establishing a peace desk in all troubled areas of the state, as it will further enhance the effective passage of information and also serve as a force multiplier in operations in the communities.
While reiterating on the robust civil-military cooperation employed by the Nigerian Army which was also part of the military’s non-kinentic measure towards achieving long lasting peace,he revealed that when Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV was launched by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja NAM, quick impact projects such as rebuilding of schools and medical centres, medical equipment, solar-powered boreholes with water storage facilities were provided and commissioned as part of civil military relations and non kinetic lines of operations.
He averred that he was optimistic that the agency under the leadership of Dr Julie G Sanda will be instrumental to enlightening the public on the roles of the military as well as the public and the government in ending the crisis on the Plateau.
In her remarks, the Director General (DG) Plateau State Peace Building Agency, Dr Julie Sanda appreciated the GOC for his laudable achievements and tremendous efforts in ensuring security on the Plateau state.
She noted that with security comes development and peace. She reiterated on the need for synergy and collaboration more in the non-kinentic areas such as peace education, gender abuse, dialogue, community engagements and disputes management.
The DG used the opportunity to highlight the non-partisan nature of the agency and its readiness to go into the communities to preach the culture of peaceful coexistence and harmonious living amongst the people as the military engage more in the kinetic approach.
She explained that the agency was set to explore non violent means of settling disputes and conflicts in the communities. She further revealed the agency’s role and hinted on the plan to establish peace desks in all local government areas of the state to ensure representation and contacts at the grassroot levels.
Soliciting for increased community security relations, she sought for better engagement with the communities for better understanding on how the security architecture works and how they could better synergise with security agencies.
She appreciated OPSH for the efforts in the implementation of the peace agreement signed in Bassa Local Government.

The commissioner of agriculture in plateau state Honourable Samson Bugama stated this during the Ministerial briefly held at the Higher Education Conference Hall JD Gomwalk Secretariat 10th May 2024.
Bugama said contrary to the believe of the citizens of Plateau State that the immediate administration of APC bequeath 400 farming tractors to the government of Mutfwang is not true as presently over 90 of the tractors could not be accounted for.

The Defence Headquarters has organised human rights lecture for troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), as a mechanism to prevent the violation of the rights of innocent civilians by troops and other personnel of Operation SAFE HAVEN.
In his opening remarks at the event held at Headquarters 3 Division Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Jos, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar, said troops operating within OPSH Joint Operations Area have constantly undergone trainings on human management from military institutions and civil society organizations.
The Commander disclosed that, these trainings have boosted the capacity of personnel during internal security operations, where troops engage civilians on regular basis.
Major General Abubakar further stated that, military personnel deployed on OPSH have been inundated on the need to continually operate within the ambit of the law, with maximum respect for the rights of innocent civilians. He also urged the participants to educate their colleagues who were not opportuned to attend the lectures in order to ensure that the knowledge gained trickles down to every personnel to guide their conduct.
The commander also revealed that the lecture was in fulfillment of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen CG Musa resolve to improve the professional capability of military personnel on internal security operations across the country which is also aptly captured in the Training Directive to all formations under the guidance of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja.
Delivering a lecture on Protection of Civilians, the guest speaker, Major AA Goni, said that the human rights lecture was important to troops on OPSH owing to the people-centric nature of the operations.
The guest speaker noted that, there must not be selective protection of civilians during conflict. He further stressed that no intensity of military operations would justify unlawful killing of civilians.
On her part, Barrister Lovina Abbah, a Human Rights Lawyer, who delivered the second lecture on Torture and Cruel Treatment, said by respecting human rights, military personnel are likely to gain the confidence of the civil populace, which could aid military operations for optimal success.
Barrister Abbah added, that the law does not permit the use of torture to extract information from detainees. She urged the participants to embrace forensic method of investigation to determine the facts of cases being investigated. She, therefore advocated that operational guidelines should be followed while military personnel are on operations.
The team leader and Special Adviser to the Chief of Defence Staff on Human Rights, Air Commodore OO Akisanya (Rtd), disclosed that the lecture was conducted to improve the operational effectiveness of military personnel operating in a joint environment.
Highlights of the event include Lectures on Protection of Civilians/Torture and Cruel Treatment, interactive session, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
The attention of Operation SAFE HAVEN has been drawn to a statement credited to Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC) Vanguards alleging that there is ongoing imposition of peace agreements on communities in Bokkos LGA by military authorities.
The allegations which pointed out that there are purported peace agreements brokered by Sector 5 of Operation SAFE HAVEN between the various ethnic groups in Butura Kampani, Chikam, Kunet and neighbouring communities is in furtherance of the group’s desperate efforts to remain relevant while discrediting the ongoing efforts of security agencies to foster peaceful coexistence among the residents of the Joint Operations Area.
The Military rejoinder is contained in a Press statement dated 9th May 2024 signed by the Media Information Officer to OPSH , Major Samson Natip Zhakom and made available to this medium in Jos.
It is therefore necessary to set the record straight in order not to mislead the public and undermine the positive strides made by security agencies.
As part of non-kinetic efforts to de-escalate tension in Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State, Operation SAFE HAVEN facilitated an expanded stakeholders’ engagement at Headquarters 3 Division on 24 April 2024. It is imperative to state that the meeting was well attended with critical stakeholders from all sides of the divide in attendance as well as representatives of the Plateau State Government.
As a fallout of the meeting, it was agreed that the bottom-top crisis resolution approach should be employed to bring a lasting solution to the crisis experienced in the aforementioned Local Government Areas. Consequent upon the foregoing, troops of Sector 5 Operation SAFE HAVEN were invited by the civil authorities of Bokkos Local Government Area to witness one of such engagements at Butura Kampani on 30 April 2024.
Suffice to state that at no point in time did the troops of Sector 5 Operation SAFE HAVEN impose any peace agreement on any group of persons under any guise. It is therefore expedient to stress the risks associated with the deliberate efforts by Bokkos Cultural Development Council Vanguards to rouse negative public opinion against security agencies.
Notwithstanding the desperate attempts to cast aspersion on personnel of Operation SAFE HAVEN, security agencies will continue to take proactive steps to foster peaceful coexistence in the Joint Operations Area.
We therefore urge the public to continue to collaborate and avail security agencies with credible intelligence that will aid in securing law-abiding citizens in the Joint Operations Area.
The final funeral arrangements of the mother of the Factional All progressive Congress (APC) Hon Ishaya Itse’s mother has been announced.
According to the burial arrangement made available to this medium, the corpse of Late Mama Esther Ijuma Yusufu will depart Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) mortuary permanent site by 8:00am for church service at COCIN LCCII Nukpis kaben from 9:00am-11am.
According to the burial arrangement further revealed that the final interment is 11:30am at the deceased family compound JUTH Gate 4 residents of Hon. Ishaya Itse compound Nukpis kaben, the arrangement maintained.
It would be recalled Mama Esther Ijuma Yusufu the mother of APC Factional Chairman in the state died on May 3rd 2024 after a protracted illness at University of Jos Teaching Hospital at the age of 70 Years.
She was born 14th April 1954 and died 3rd May 2024 .
She is survived with children among whose is the Factional Chairman of APC in the state Hon. Ishaya Itse and many grand children.

Warned those entrusted with the Buses to have the fear of God and use the buses to the Glory of God and humanity.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of plateau State has reiterated his administration commitment in running transparent and people oriented government that will have direct impact on the average citizens of plateau state.

Said the transportation which is expected to generate 500 to 1,000 employment has so far employed not fewer than 100 workers that would double in few days from now.
He thank the traders in the State who were inconvenienced by the action of the government in other to clear the rought for the buses to ply, not to see it as creating hardship on the people.

The General officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) Major General AE Abubakar has emphasized that the future of the Nigerian Army rest on the shoulders of the young officers who must have mastery of basic military skills to take up emerging security challenges.
He made this known today 6th May 2024 while addressing over 500 young officers undergoing conversion exercise at Headquarters 3 Division Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
Major General Abubakar stressed the importance of the officers being proficient in basic military skills, physically fitness and mental preparedness to tackle the evolving security challenges facing the nation.
He highlighted the significance of the conversion exercise in the career progression of Nigerian Army Officers, particularly those under the Short Service Commission and Direct Short Service Commission who aspire to serve the country beyond a specified service year as outlined in the Harmonised Terms and Conditions of service.
He explained that the conversion exercise provides candidates with the opportunity to transition to Regular Combatant and Direct Regular Commissions within the Nigerian Army.
He further mentioned that candidates will undergo various physical, laboratory, and radiological examinations to assess their fitness in alignment with the requirements of the Nigerian Army.
While thanking the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja NAM for the opportunity given to 3 Division to host the all important Nigerian Army event, he expressed confidence in the dedication and capabilities of the young officers undergoing the conversion process. In congratulating the candidates on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff for being worthy of participating in the exercise, the GOC charged the candidates to maintain the highest standard of regimentation, discipline and carriage throughout the exercise. He further warned against all forms of cheating to distort the process.
” I advise you to resist any temptation to cheat or collaborate with others, especially during the physical and skill at arms test” he averred.
He maintained that the Nigerian Army leadership had adequately prepared the candidates for the exercise through cadre organized to tutor them on required knowledge to excel during the Conversion Board. He urged the candidates to bring to bear the knowledge and experience they acquired during the cadre. The exercise is expected to last for 2 weeks.

The Governor of Plateau State Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has challenged the Christian faithful to ensure they tell their stories in their own ways to avoid being told by second party that may be dangerous to the Christians and by extension Christianity as whole.

The embattled chairman of APC in plateau state Honorable Ishaya ltse has loss his Mother as doctor on call practically abandoned the mother of the chairman to take care herself despite spending a lot of money in keeping his mother in amenities ward where she could get adequate doctor’s maximum attention.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and its affiliates from Trade Union Congress(TUC),has rejected the minimum wage unilaterally approved by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu described it as charade which is not banding on the Union.

Warned the government that the union will no longer accept any differential salary structure in plateau state between the state and local government workers in the New Minimum Wage arrangement.
Lauded governor Mutfwang Developmental Stride in the state for less than one year in office as the governor of plateau State he has initiated government labour peaceful harmonious policies which has results to settlement of labour related disputes in the state without recourse to confrontation.
Appreciated the governor for wearing a new toga of hope in act of governance which have been missing in the system for the 8 years the last administration of APC led administration by Governor Simon Bako Lalong held sway.
Comrade lsa Ezekiel Yelwa has promised to work closely with the state government barrister Caleb Mutfwang if possible lobby to ensure that the local government workers in the state are given appreciable good level working conditions from the current status they are presently operating which can best be described abysmally too poor.
As he charged the local government workers under the umbrella of Nigerian Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE),to work towards ensuring that they synergize to form a formidable unity that can fast track progress particularly within the Union.
Comrade Ezekiel who is currently contesting for the chairmanship position of NULGE in the state stated this in an interview with Journalists in Jos during the 2024 international Workers Day Celebration Wednesday 1st May .
He said the welfare of local government workers is very important although I cannot say that the government is trying or not because the workers in the Local governments in the state are still groaning as a result of lack of inadequate remuneration from the state government compared to their counterparts at the state level.
Comrade Isa add that when you investigate the welfare of local government workers in all the state including plateau, you discovered that the local government workers earned far lower than their state counter part.
Further add that even in team of allowances and training there is no basis for comparisons the local government workers is always at the unfortunate position.
Ezekiel stressed that to get the government attention towards addressing the differential payment and other incentives tailored against local government workers, is not by rocket science is just for the union to synergize and unite and take common front when dealing with Governor.
Explained further that is all about synergy ,cooperation, team work if the above ingredients are missing, no matter how hard we push, no little or no achievement will be achieved.
Because at the local government system, we have more than Four unions out of which NULGE is the mother of them all that is why you discovered that the NULGE in the state are not achieving anything.
Comrade Ezekiel Yelwa who is currently serving in Finance department in one of the local government , said when he is giving the mandate as Chairman of NULGE, his first major priority is to work towards bringing the members of NULGE together. The Directors, members of the union most be on the same page.
On the area of local government Autonomy , he said the autonomy of the local government is very key so that they can be able to achieve something in the area of revenue generation as the third tiers of government.
If you are talking of wages award, the local government only given twelve thousand Naira compared to their counterparts at the state.
Appealed to the state government led by Caleb Mutfwang , but quick to commend his efforts of trying to settle the backlogs of salaries of the council inherited from immediate past administration of Simon Bako Lalong which a significant amount have been by Mutfwang administration.
But like Oliver Twins ,we are still asking for more, however remind the government that payment of salaries is not an achievement contrary to erroneous believe, but mandatory because is the government promise with the workers during the electioneering campaign promises which they most fulfilled.
However appeal to Governor Mutfwang to do more by creating a conducive atmosphere for the local government workers to contribute meaningfully to the revenue generation of the state. Comrade Ezekiel mentained.

He said the official commissioning of (20) Sienna Buses for Jos to Abuja and the launch of the Mobile Booking Apps.
This commissioning represents a critical step forward in our relentless pursuit of a robust and improved transport network in our dear state.
The commissioning of these buses for the Jos – Abuja route signifies a significant improvement in connectivity between these two important cities. The governor further said the establishment of Plateau Express Logistics, a subsidiary of Plateau Express Services underscores the PDP administration’s on the plateau commitment to providing efficient and effective logistics solutions.
The advanced tracking systems for the fleet of vehicles, and the logistics arm will employ cutting-edge technology to optimize route planning, minimize delivery times, and ensure the secure and timely transportation of goods.

Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the General Manager Plateau Express Services Samuel Gwott thank the executive Governor of Plateau State Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for taking priority in revamping Plateau Express Services and also the transport sector as a whole in Plateau State.
Stressed tha the roads are now smooth for us to travel, the people of Plateau have options to travel by air and the trains will soon be moving.
The GM further said there is very course to give thank to God When we look back at where we are coming from and consider our bright future we must give thanks to God Almighty.
He add that the passengers have two options to travel in. We have the Gida Gida Express Coaster Bus that goes for just N5,000. This 25-seater bus will leave both Abuja and Jos every 12 noon every day.
The second option is the air conditioned Toyota Sienna that operates between 6am and 4 pm for N9000.
We have well-trained drivers, our vehicles have security features and speed limiters, improved customer experience, and a mobile App. It will interest you to know that we have stickers placed in the four comers of our buses with contact numbers and email addresses. A passenger can alert us in the course of the journey and we use the feedback to appraise our staff performance.

Today we are starting our journey of commissioning Plateau Express Logistics Ltd as a revenue generating subsidiaries. We are launching this business with two vans and 6 staff. We are very excited about our little beginnings and we a proud to say we are very ambitious about our future goals. No transport company can survive and grow with the logistics arm of the business.
Before now, the revenue goes into the pockets of drivers and other stakeholders who are not our staff. Excess luggage is a revenue for us, but before a boy loading the vehicle who is not our staff will charge customers a subjective price, they will argue for about 30 mins and then he will collect the money, take his own share, the driver gets his share and the peanuts will come to us.
When I came in, 90% of our drivers were adhoc staff with no file. They were earning just N10,000.00 but in a day a driver could also make N10,000.00 daily from waybills. Some drivers deliberately make excuses in order to collect as much way bills as possible.
Now both old and new drivers have gone through a rigorous recruitment process, Medical examinations and training. They have signed a new contract and will carn a Minimum of N40,000.00 with other allowances and welfare packages hke health insurance and life insurance. They will be rewarded for good driving every month, Our monthly performance appraisal will clean out the bad eggs amongst them.
These drivers have signed a new contract not to engage in any corrupt practices. The embattled Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC),in plateau state Honourable Ishaya Itse had Condemned in strong term the recent penalties slammed on the innocent and helpless students of plateau state University, Bokkos over peaceful demonstration following the gruesome killing of one of the student of the institution by Militias.
As the honorable Chairman described the action taken by the management of the institution as callous , Inhuman and to say the least unreasonable when the students are still mourning one of their own.
Itse was speaking when the students of the school pay him a courtesy visit to register their displeasure over the unwarranted action taken against the students in his residence at lamingo in Jos, plateau state 30th April 2024.
The opposition Party Chairman in the state described the action of the school management as wicked , Inhuman and to say the least unreasonable particularly at this time the students are still mourning one of their killed member.
He further add that the action of the school management is to encourage the attackers and Killers of harmless students to always have their way without any reactions from any quarters including from the students who are directly affected.

He further asked the school management , now that they are forcing the students to pay Seven Thousand Naira each for school properties they are alleging they destroyed during the peaceful protest, what about the murdered student?
Stressed that the action of the Vice Chancellor of the university Shedriack Best is not only disgraceful but very unfortunate that a hitherto respected person of his type could reduce himself to that level of Inhuman feelings.
He decried the payment of the compulsory seven thousand imposed on the students which is coming at a time when most of the students have not finish paying their school fees following recent hike of fees in at the universities in the country including PLASU,

Honorable Itse appeal to the amiable Governor of Plateau State Barrister Caleb Mutfwang to weigh into the issue with the view to prevail on the school management to recede it decision over the payment of the seven thousand Naira by the students for interest of justice and peace.
He said the governor should know that he is receiving accolade from citizens of the state following his tremendous performance less than a years in office as the governor of the state.
As against this backdrop, he should not play into the hands of distractors who may not wish him well and trying to use the present Plateau State University Inhuman decision to soil his achievement so far made presently at the public domain.
Commended the governor over the recent steps taken to decongest the state city center which is hitherto given the state bad name as state where government doesn’t exist.

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) in Jos, Plateau State, has adjourned a case filed by dismissed staff of Plateau tertiary institutions against Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the state government to May 2nd for hearing.
The plaintiffs, comprising 36, 55, 99, and 100 staff members, respectively, are challenging their termination without due process. They are seeking an interlocutory injunction to restrain the respondents from embarking on the current employment exercise to replace them.
According to their counsel, Barr. Nantok Dashuwar, the originating summon and motion on notice dated April 9, 2024, and March 21, 2024, respectively, have not been served on the tertiary institutions as the 3rd respondent. Dashuwar stated that the staff members were employed between 2002 and 2024, and their appointment was terminated without following the due process of law.
The institutions involved include the College of Education Gindiri, Plateau State Polytechnic, College of Art, Science, and Technology Agriculture Garkawa, College of Health Pankshin, and College of Health Zawan.
Dashuwar explained that the staff members are seeking the court’s interpretation of the laws establishing the institutions and the instruments used in employing and terminating their employment. He stated that the court will examine the reasons for their termination, including press releases and dismissals.
The adjournment is to allow for the service of the originating summon and motion on notice on the tertiary institutions. The staff members are seeking to prevent the government from conducting interviews for recruitment until their case is determined.
The case is a challenge to the power of the governor to terminate the employment of staff members of tertiary institutions, and the court’s decision is eagerly awaited.”
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has unveiled the Plateau State e-Governance Platform, aimed at fostering transparent, efficient, and accountable governance.
In a message to inaugurate the platform today, April 29th, 2024, Governor Mutfwang emphasized its role in promoting citizen-government interaction, courtesy of a donation from Mr. Hephzibah Integrated Technologies Ltd.
The platform, accessible via the toll-free line (08000005555) and http://egov.plateaustate.gov.ng/, allows citizens to provide feedback, request services, and engage with government agencies, thereby contributing to the administration’s effectiveness.
Governor Mutfwang encouraged the public to utilize the platform to engage meaningfully with the government and to offer information, opinions on policies, and inquiries on service offerings from MDAs, while receiving timely feedback.
Enumerating the benefits of the platform, Governor Mutfwang highlighted increased efficiency, convenience, transparency, accountability, improved communication, engagement, and cost-saving for Plateau citizens.
Operated under the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), led by Director General Mr. Datong Dominic Gwamnan, the platform is a critical tool for enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility to government services.
The General Manager Plateau Environmental Protection Agency (PEPSA),has frowned on manner the citizens of Plateau State flagrantly decide to disobey laws promogated by the government even when it’s for their benefits
And threatened to scaled up the the initial penalty of One thousand to a reasonable amount of Ten Thousand and addition force the violator to participate on the exercise to serve as deterrant to defaulters.
The GM said this in an interview with Journalists during April 2024 monthly environmental sanitation held in the state .
He lamented the numbers of people’s arrested during the period of the environmental sanitation exercise that slated to take place 7-10am when they are suppose to be in their respectives home cleaning their surroundings despite government announcement through various mediums of communication.
Dapiya stressed that the action of some citizens of the state over fragrant disobedience to government laws, is an obvious indication that they are not willing to learn, rather to obey the law.
By next month , the GM said we will make the necessary adjustment of the exercise to ensure there is water tight plan for adherence to the exercise for total enforcement for the subsequent sanitation.
Said in the future sanitation , the agency would ensure the mobile courts in designated areas in the monopolists are functional more than as its now.
Although the trial judges where on ground earlier but there was no security on ground to ensure her safety . The idea of a Thousand Naira fine is not good enough because it is not enough to serve as deterrant to the offenders and commensurate with the crime.
PEPSA boss Samuel Dapiya suggested that when offenders is arrested he/she should allow to continue her journey when he has fufil the penalty conditions of payment of One Thousand will be reviewed .
Add that the offenders should be made to participate on the execise until its over to serve as corrective measures to would be violator of the exercise.
On the demolition on the illegal structures constructed by some unrepentant traders who refuse to take to the advice of the authority, he said enough notice was given to the traders which has since expired, but they refused to vacate as instructed by the government.
Further said aside the indiscriminate constructions of illegal structures attached to the burnt down Jos Main Market and the scattered traders displaying wares on the street which are grossly defacing the serene beauty of the state and it environ, it is robbing the government huge amount of revenues and the time to correct that is now ,which is why we have to correct it before it degenerate to something else.
The GM promised the sustainance of the project because the project cost government a huge amount of money to commence the project in the first place. We will ensure that tax payers money is not allowed to go down the drain, so this projects will be sustained for Four to Eight years and beyond.
Stressed that One Thousand Naira penalty is too small for the defaulters of the environmental sanitation exercise.
On the recent flood that raid havoc in some part of the state, he said the agency has started the evaluation of drainages and water ways because some of the floors happened because of the blockage of drainage and water ways.
The flood that happened at Bauchi Road would have been avoided if the citizens of the areas adhered to environmental principles of clearing their drainages and water ways.
You should understand that government can’t do everything, can’t go to the nook and crannies of the state all by himself to attend to environmental issues.
Following fragrant violation of plateau state environmental laws that all citizens of the state is expected to observe environmental sanitation from 7-10am every last Saturday of every month the Transition Implementation Chairman (TIC )of Jos South LGC Peter Vwang Daung has denied the insinuation that some of the defaulters seen plying the road or roaming around are for his Local government.
As the chairman said contrary to the insinuations that the people arrested in my local government by security enforcing the exercise are form my council to say the least that the carrier of the news are people who stocked in trade to give Jos South like proverbial Dog in order to hang it.
Vwang Daung denied the allegations during an interview with Journalists in Jos South LG during the monitoring of April 2024 monitoring of the exercise.
The chairman said with all frankness the Passers By are not from my local government they are coming from other states of the country, and some from other local government.
Hon.peter Vwang Daung said it’s worrisome that people don’t want to obey the law despite that the law is for our own good and must be respected.
He add that Three hours in every month can not remove anything from us as people which is just from 7-10am and the exercise will over .
The Chairman frowned at the payment of One thousand fine by defaulters and allow to continue his journey will not serve as a deterrant,adviced the government to scale up the penalty fine in addition to make them to join the people in the execise until its execise is over and they can continue their journey.
The Jos South TIC chairman Hon. Peter advice the government to look at the fine currently paid by defaulters with the view of reviewing it upward to serve as deterrant to violator in particular and intending violator.
With this any intending defaulters will feel the plains when fined and would serve as deterrant that he may not want to be found wanting next time.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General T.A Lagbaja has described late Brig general Rimdan as patriotic Senior Officer who left legacy of excellence within the military Service.
COAS Lagbaja make the description in his condolence message during the burial ceremony of late Brig Gen Rimdan held in his home town in Lantang Pil -Gani in Lantang North LGC of Plateau State 27th April 2024. He commended the late officer’s leadership qualities, highlighting his moral integrity and commitment to service to his dear country.
The remains of Brigadier General Yakubu Dominic Rimdan was laid to rest , as the families and friends described the senior officer as figure, and comrade,patriarch, icon and a unifier who took pleasure in the welfare and well-being of others.
commended the late officer’s leadership qualities, highlighting his moral integrity and commitment to service to his dear country.
Represented by the Commander of 33 Artillery Brigade, Bauchi, Brig Gen E Egbe, the COAS expressed his condolences to the family and noted that the passing of General Rimdan was a significant loss to the Nigerian Army. He encouraged the family to find comfort in the exemplary life lived by the late officer, worthy of emulation.
During a wake-keeping prayer held in Jos, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division/Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar who represented the Chief of Defence Staff, paid tribute to Brigadier General Rimdan’s dedicated service to the nation. He described the late officer as a unifier and a detribalized Nigerian, emphasizing the irreplaceable gap left by his death.
The clergy, led by Rev Dr. Amos Mohzo, referenced the Book of Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 verses 1-11, reminding mourners of the inevitability of death and the importance of preparing for the afterlife. He cautioned against living a life without regard for God’s commandments, urging all to reflect on their own mortality.
Brigadier General YD Rimdan retired served meritoriously in the Nigerian Army for 38 years, retiring in December 1993. His legacy of service, leadership and unity will continue to inspire generations to come.

He further add that the press briefing is to intimate Journalists in the state,and general public the breakthroughs by the force in an efforts to wrestle crimes and criminalities in the State.
CP Adesina said the command have succeeded in putting an end to the activities of some criminal-minded individuals in our midst whose perception of a decent life is to steal, rob, kill, destroy properties, kidnap, burgle dwelling places of unsuspecting citizens and commit other heinous crime in the State.
Among those Paraded by the police include on Haruna Abdullahi, male, who was indicted by one Rebecca Danjuma on a dying declaration in relation to the 24th December 2023 attack in Bokkos LGA and was also mentioned by a kingpin one Jibrin Musa Goje who was paraded by the force PRO as his co-conspirator in a crime.
Also paraded along side with Haruna Abdullahi is the case of criminal conspiracy and attempt to commit an offence to wit Kidnapping,which the police boss said sequel to the payment of the sum of one million naira (N1, 000,000) to an unknown caller by a complainant who was threatened to pay the money, to avoid being kidnapped, the complainant reported the incident to Gindiri divisional Headquarters and investigation commenced immediately.
During our investigation, the anonymous caller was tracked through his GSM number and was eventually arrested by Gindiri police operatives in connection to the reported incident. On interrogation, the suspect named, Suleiman Adamu Garba ‘m’ of Nanga Gindiri, Mangu LGA of Plateau State confessed voluntarily to have committed the offence with one Adamu Langai who is now at large. The case is still under investigation and efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Others are Culpable Homicide/arrest of suspects which the police said on19th April 2024 at about 4pm, we received a report at the Bokkos Divisional Headquarters, that on the same date at about 2pm, one Damlan Mallan, Maju Philemon and Mandic Daniel all male of Tenti, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area while on their way to the farm at Gawarza village in Bokkos Local Government Area, that their motorcycle developed a mechanical fault. Consequently, they stopped and attempted to repair it when suddenly; a number of armed hoodlums unexpectedly opened fire on them and shot one Damla Mallan.
On receipt of the report, Police detectives from Bokkos division immediately rushed to the scene where the lifeless body of the victim lay motionless. They immediately rushed him to the Cottage Hospital Bokkos, from where he was referred to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH); he eventually died on the way. The Police action later resulted in the arrest of the following suspects: one Sani Mohammed male, Buhari Mamuda male and Haruna Abdullahi, male, who was indicted by one Rebecca Danjuma on a dying declaration in relation to the 24th December 2023 attack on Bokkos LGA and was also mentioned by a kingpin one Jibrin Musa Goje who was paraded by the force PRO as his co-conspirator in a crime.
On 21st April 2024 at about 2pm while the natives of Gawarza and Chireng villages were returning from burying the corpse, one Hassan Abdullahi and Mohammed Sani both male barricaded the road in an attempt to attack the mourners while on their way back to their various residences.
The two suspects have all been arrested. The case is under investigation at the State CID Jos, and will be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigations.
Suspects Paraded are Cult related suspects 12th April 2024 at around 10:10pm, a distress call was received from one Dauda Mamuda of Angwan-Rogo area of Jos North.
Reporting an attack where the
victim was stabbed with a knife and scissors by hoodlums suspected to be members of the Sara-Suka cult group and abandoned in front of a church with the intention of causing religious upheaval. Consequently, three suspects have been arrested while the victim was rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment. Sadly, the victim passed away while receiving medical attention in the clinic. Our efforts are underway with a view arresting the fleeing suspects.
Defilement/Arrest on the 19th 2024 at about 2:20PM, a report was received at the Kaduna Vom Division from one Lyop Dung female, 25 years of Kuru village, who reported that on the 18/04/2024 at about 3:00pm, her 5 year old daughter, was lured and sexually assaulted by one Teregwong Gyang male, 29 years of same address.
The victim was immediately taken to Vom Christian Hospital for medical examination and treatment. The suspect has also been arrested and investigation is currently ongoing at the State CID. The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigation.
Recovery of Firearms
On 24th April 2024 at about 11pm, while on an intelligence-led stop and search operation along Zaria Road opposite New Stadium Jos, ‘A’ Division Police patrol team of the Command arrested one Manasseh Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 24 years old of Heritage ECWA Staff Jos with one locally made pistol and one live cartridge. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to have purchased the gun at the rate of Twenty Five Thousand Naira (N25, 000.00) from one Gambo (Surname unknown) ‘m’ of Farin Gada, Jos who is now at large. The case is under investigation and effort is been intensified to apprehend the gun runner.
Rescue of Kidnap victims/arrest of suspect on 24th April 2024, at about 4:30pm, a distress call was received from the Vigilante Group in Buga Forest Village, reporting that unknown some gunmen invaded and kidnapped two persons from Radi Village in Bassa LGA, Plateau State, and four others from a village in Toro LGA, Bauchi State.
Upon receipt of this intelligence, I immediately ordered the mobilization of a team of Police officers in conjunction with our Security help groups for a rescue operation led by the DPO. Consequently, our team engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel, resulting in the successful rescue of Six (6) kidnapped victims namely:
one Bala Hassan, one Ibrahim Yakubu, one Okasha Isa, and one Usman Dawai of Dokayal all male of a Village in Toro LGA, Bauchi State, as well as one Joshua Ayuba and one Titus Ayuba of Radi Village in Bassa LGA, Plateau State. The rescued victims were debriefed and reunited with their families. One of the suspects, one Usman Bello male, was apprehended with gunshot wounds during a search operation carried out by our men at the scene of the crime. Exhibits recovered in his possession includes, Seven (7) rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition. Investigation is in progress, with a view to arresting the fleeing suspects and ensuring that the law takes its course.
Raids and arrest of suspects in connection to various crimes within Jos metro area command in our ongoing efforts to combat crimes and criminal activities in the State, a combined patrol team from Area Command Metro, ‘C’ Division and N/Gwong Division, in collaboration with our security help groups embarked on raiding of several black spots within the metropolis.
As a result, Twenty-Five suspects were arrested. Exhibits recovered in possession include; dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a d a toy pistol. The suspects confessed to being part of a gang of thieves that specializes in stealing iron rods and scraps. The suspects will soon be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigation.
In another development, while acting on a tip-off, we also arrested one Maisara Khalid, who is accused of masterminding the killing of a teenager. Our investigations are ongoing.
The command also paraded Suspected criminals who stock in trade in criminal conspiracy and attempt to commit an offence to wit Kidnapping Sequel to the payment of the sum of one million naira (N1, 000,000) to an unknown caller by a complainant who was threatened to pay the money, to avoid being kidnapped, the complainant reported the incident to Gindiri divisional Headquarters and investigation commenced immediately.
During our investigation, the anonymous caller was tracked through his GSM number and was eventually arrested by Gindiri police operatives in connection to the reported incident. On interrogation, the suspect named, Suleiman Adamu Garba ‘m’ of Nanga Gindiri, Mangu LGA of Plateau State confessed voluntarily to have committed the offence with one Adamu Langai who is now at large. The case is still under investigation and efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
We received a report at the Mikang Division, reporting that one Samson Lekyong, a teacher allegedly lured and raped a 15 year old girl. The victim was taken to the hospital for a medical examination, and the suspect has been arrested. The case is currently under investigation and will be charged to court on completion of the investigation.

The Special Task Force Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) has met with key stakeholders from Bokkos and Mangu local government areas of Plateau State, following the resurgence of criminal attacks in the areas.
At a meeting held at Headquarters 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) today 24 April 2024, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar, disclosed that the meeting was aimed at addressing the latest security concerns in some parts of the State. The commander expressed displeasure over the reoccurring breach of security, which has resulted in the death of innocent civilians.
The commander reiterated the triggers of conflict on the Plateau which he emphasised must be adequately addressed to prevent further breakdown of law and order. He urged the stakeholders to support the resettlement efforts of government and security agencies, thereby allowing displaced persons to return back to their ancestral homes.
General AE Abubakar disclosed that some of the perpetrators of the recent attacks have been arrested, weapons and motorcycles recovered while troops continue to conduct operations to bring the remaining perpetrators to justice.
Speaking at the stakeholders engagement, the Executive Governor of Plateau State His Excellency Barr Caleb Manasseh Muftwang represented by the Commissioner For Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Ephraim Usman, he opined that the people have lost trust in each other, and government must work to realign the people. The Governor reiterated government’s commitment to policing the state and making it safe for innocent citizens.
The various stakeholders who spoke during the meeting emphasized the need for genuine dialogue and forgiveness between warring parties, so as to forge ahead and allow the state attain economic prosperity. They resolved that the people must help government to implement policies that will bring permanent peace to troubled areas in the State. They also affirmed their resolve to support security agencies henceforth in ensuring that normalcy is returned to all the affected communities.

The provost Federal College of Medical Sciences Jos, plateau State Dr.Sunday Etukudo clashed with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(Efcc),over application for amendment of charges .
As Dr.Etukudo said the Efcc did not follow the laid down judicial process for the introduction of the application for the amendment, as against the background the application is died on arrival.
The provost of Medical College in the State made the statement today 24th April 2024 during supposedly the continuation of hearing on Etukudo’s Case Vs Federal Republic of Nigeria involved on money laundering sitting at the Plateau State High Court the state capital.
The provost of Federal college of Medical Sciences, is currently facing charges of money lundering from Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(Efcc),on alleged financial crime with staggered amount of millions of naira.
The matter which is starting Denovo (all over ),in the last adjournment slated for the continuation of hearing on the matter.
When the case file was called, the prosecuting counsel to Efcc told the court that he has an application for an amendment of charges Against the defendants which he have served all the defendants in the matter this morning.
Added that the charges are similar but the year of arraignment is slightly difference in some of the charges against the defendants, aside that , the substance of the offenses are still the same.
In a quick reaction, one of the counsel to the defendants vehemently oppose the application on the ground that it’s defective because the prosecuting counsel didn’t follow judicial laid down procedure in charges amendment.
He further pointed out that the said application which was served him this morning 24th April 2024 was not endorsed and stamped as such reduced the said application to a mere ordinary pieces of paper.
He further cited a plethora of authority to back his argument to convince the Financial Crimes Commission (Efcc), that there are judicial constitutional precedent they most follow when applying for such important but delicate applications which is to say the least can be injurious to the person or persons that it’s been sort.
The counsel to the 1st Defendant Dr. Etukudo frowned at the derogatory comments accredited to the commission that the defendants has abandoned the case,disappeared and nowhere to be found.
Queried the use of such unprofessional statement capable of misleading the court and miss carrage of justice against presumed innocent defendants, appeal to the court to invoke his judicial power of Acquittal and set the defendants free from all the charges against them by the commission.
Added that since the trial began more than four years now,the defendants has not one day miss court trial not when the matter has started Denovo for more two times which is not the fault of any of the defendants in the matter.
He however appeal to the court to passionately look at the judicial protest of the defendants with the view of offering remedy as the matter has lingered unnecessarily for too long, and has created psychological imbalance on the defendants and restricted their movements to engage on personal businesses that will carry them outside the court jurisdiction.
After argument and counter argument from both the prosecuting counsel and the side of the defendants, the court adjourned the matter to July 2024 for ruling on the application to amend charges against the defendants by Efcc.

“The National Assembly on Tuesday, granted full financial and administrative autonomy to all the 774 local council authorities across Nigeria by amending section 124 of the nation’s constitution.
The section provides a consequential provision for the making of the local councils, a full third tier government without undue interference from the state governments.
The amendment was one of the 22 others approved by the House of Representatives last week and ratified by the Senate on Tuesday.
Both chambers had through a conference committee harmonised versions of the amendment into the constitution carried out by each of them last month.
By the development, the National Assembly had ratified all the 23 clauses and sections that had been amended by both chambers.
The newly amended document which would be sent to States Houses of Assembly, for approval, also approved the creation of the Office of Auditor General of the Local Government as well as the State Local Government Service Commission.

Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) from the constitution thereby vesting the powers to conduct council elections on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Lawyer and human rights activist, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has disowned a statement credited to him, asking why the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not arrested former Zamfara governors, Abdulaziz Yari and Bello Matawalle despite court orders similar to the one against Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State.
A report had circulated online that Ozekhome has said that the discrepancy in how the EFCC handles cases like Yahaya Bello’s compared to others like Abdulaziz Yari and Bello Mattawale revolves around various factors, including legal procedures and specific court orders.
However, Ozekhome in a statement on Sunday described the statement as a lie from the pit of hell, noting that he did not ever contemplate “spewing out such a statement”.
He called on the public to ignore the statement and consign it to the trashcan of history.
He said, “My attention has just been drawn to the above disturbing and shocking piece of trash allegedly authored by me. I did not, never did, nor will I ever contemplate spewing out such odious inanity and banal statement devoid of common sense and reasoning.
“The above writeup ascribed to me is a lie from the pit of hell. How can I, Matawalle’s friend and lawyer of many years, utter such nonsense? How could I be linked with a statement suggesting meddling into a matter that is subjudice; or media trial, ad homine application of laws; or conviction before trial, when the whole world knows me for preaching and writing human rights, due process democracy and good governance for over four decades?
“I hereby wholly denounce the writeup. I also hereby humbly urge members of the public to ignore the statement and its banner headline, all of which are utterly false, baseless, unfounded and which are simply idiotic.

The Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN) has urged the Federal Government to simplify the process of obtaining and renewing recruiters’ licences and stamping out quackery in the industry.
The President of EAPEAN, Dr Olufemi Ogunlowo, gave the advice on Thursday in Ikeja, during the official launching of the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN) formerly Human Capital Providers Association of Nigeria (HuCaPAN) and the First Private Employment Agencies Chief Executives Conference.
Ogunlowo said that simplifying the licensing process would ensure the effectiveness of the association, for proper employee recruitment.
“The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment is urged to simplify the process of obtaining and renewing recruiters’ licences. It is also recommended that the ministry reinstate the joint monitoring exercise requested by our members,” he said.
Ogunlowo said that quackery must be addressed through a multifaceted approach, and joint monitoring was one strategy that could be effectively used to reduce such incidents.
“Our request for joint monitoring aims to ensure better regulation of the industry and to deter unlicensed operators by making quackery unattractive and practically impossible,” he said.
Ogunlowo urged the Heads of Human Resources of various companies to always work with licensed employment agencies, to make the operation of quacks impossible.
“By doing this, we can jointly stamp out quackery in the sector by default,” he said.
Ogunlowo said the private employment agencies played a crucial role in Nigeria’s economy, acting as intermediaries between employers and job seekers, connecting talent with opportunities.
He said that by providing recruitment and job placement services, private employment agencies contribute to job creation, economic growth, and overall social development.
“The establishment of this association is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our esteemed members. By coming together, we aim to enhance professionalism, foster collaboration, and promote best practices within the private employment industry.
“This association will provide a platform for information sharing, networking, and mentorship, ultimately benefiting both employers and job seekers,” he said.
In her goodwill message, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mrs Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, said the ministry would continue to support the organisation to attain greater heights, as long as its members remained committed to the ethos of the profession.
Onyejeocha, who was represented by Mr John Nyamali, the Director, of the Employment and Wages Department of the Ministry, said that employers’ associations provided different sectoral public goods that were capable of influencing economic outcomes.

Giving the keynote address, Mr Ahmed Gobir, Chairman, of the Professional Conduct, and Ethics Committee, called on stakeholders in the employment sector to embrace outsourcing as a strategic tool for driving growth, innovation, and competitiveness in organisations.
Gobir urged the government to promote an enabling environment for outsourcing industry growth, by implementing supportive policies, regulatory frameworks, and incentives that encouraged investment, innovation, and job creation.

Professional Group Under the aegis of “The Middle Belt Journalists Forum (MBJF),has condemned in strong term sudden resumption of sporadic killings in Plateau State during the week where students and members of a Community were massacred without justification by suspects militias groups .

maiming and killing of no fewer than 50 innocent citizens in Bagana, Otutubatu, Iyade, Agbenema, Agojeju-Odo in Omala Local Government Area of kogi state; the massacre in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State where twenty -eight people were killed on April 17, Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State where over seventeen people were killed, and Plateau State University, Bokkos campus where some students were gunned down by the herdsmen /terrorists.
We are very sad at the development and we are calling on the Federal Government to step up effort to end this act of continuous blood bathe in the Middle Belt geopolitical zone of the country.
The region has made enough sacrifices to keep this country together and must be appreciated than what is happening now.
It is wrong for anyone to label what is happening in the region as farmers/herdsmen conflict while in actual sense, it is ethnic cleansing with the aim of possessing the ancestral land.
The Federal government should muster the political will that is required to save the region from the systematic genocide.
The life of every Nigerian is sacred and important and it is the responsibility of the federal government to protect the masses against internal and external aggression. It is high time the Authorities sit-up to its primary responsibility of securing the country.

Dr. Sunday Congo elected the ECWA Assistant General Secretary to serve for a first tenure of three years; while Elder Danjuma Haruna and Rev. Prof. Musa A. B. Gaiya were returned as Treasurer and Trustee zone 5 to serve for another three and ten years respectively.Creation of more Departments and DCCs:
The Council approved the creation of ECWA Strategic Plan Department. Council also resolved to set up committees for the creation of Chad, Togo and Cameroun DCCs and the upgrading of the ECWA Guest Houses to a Department and ECWA Leadership Training Institute into a full-fledged Institute.
During the five-day council meeting, the council deliberated on church related issues, matters arising, crucial national and international issues and far reaching resolutions were reached thus;Church Revival: The Council reiterated the need for a holistic revival among believers and particularly ECWA sons and daughters across the globe as this will help believers to stand firm in the faith and its practice in the face of the current onslaughts against the body of Christ globally and particularly in Nigeria.
State of the Nation:
The council expressed dismay and frowned at the high levels of insecurity in Nigeria through banditry, kidnappings for ransom, incessant killings of innocent citizens by unknown gun men, destruction of lives and properties with impunity by terrorists, particularly Islamic extremists, across the nation. This has resulted to continued disarray of Nigerian nation and the near total collapse of the economy thereby leaving Nigerians in helpless hardship.
The Council however appreciates the effort of the Nigerian Military and other security agencies for risking their lives in the course of fighting against terrorism, insurgency and other forms of insecurity. The Council consoles with the families of the security personnel and other Nigerians who lost their loved ones in the course of defending the nation.
Equally important, the Council expressed dissatisfaction over the non-release of the remaining 90 Chibok school girls who by Monday 15th April, 2024 had spent 10 years in captivity, Leah Sharibu and others without obvious efforts by the government to rescue the innocent children. We call on all tiers of Nigerian government and international bodies to kindly ensure the release of these children without further delay.
The Council also expressed dismay over the unprovoked barbaric attacks by unknown gun men on innocent citizens in some part of the country particularly the unfortunate 2023 Christmas eve attack in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi as well as other attacks in Mangu, Wase and Riyom in Plateau State and others where many lives were lost and properties worth millions of naira destroyed.
The Council decried the failure of the government to carry out its constitutional responsibility of securing lives and properties of the citizens despite the huge amount being spent on security. While the Council acknowledged the support of the government to the affected communities, we call on the government to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book and measures are put in place to prevent future occurrences.
The Council expressed satisfaction over the magnanimous support of relief materials provided to the affected communities by ECWA Executive on behalf of ECWA and further call on other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as well-meaning Nigerians to support such communities.
Food Security: The Council noted with immense concern the biting hunger among citizens as a result of shortage of food supply due to persistent insecurity of all kinds that paralyzed the activities of rural farmers. The Council urged the Federal and State Governments to urgently act decisively to put in measures that will checkmate the insecurity and ensure rural farmers resume their farming activities. Harsh Economic Situation:
The Council observed the harsh economic policies by the Federal Government which makes life difficult to Nigerian citizens without corresponding dynamic arrangements to cushion the effect of such polices. The subsidy removal on petroleum products and an increase in electricity tariff has affected the cost of goods and services in the country. Therefore, the government should put in place appropriate mechanisms to reduce the hardship of the citizens. Monetary Policy:
The Council observed with satisfaction, the recent proactive measures put in by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to checkmate naira devaluation which has yielded a significant stability of the naira against the dollar.
This effort should be sustained to help curb inflation and reduce the cost of goods and services since Nigeria is an import dependent economy.Deplorable Condition of Infrastructure: The Council noted the deplorable condition of infrastructures: roads, hospitals, schools etc.
Some of the roads across the nation have become death traps and countless citizens have lost their lives. The Council calls on both Federal and State Governments to as a matter of urgency take immediate action to fix these facilities for social and physical benefits of the nation. Religious Tolerance:
The Council called for more commitment in ensuring religious tolerance among people of different faiths across the globe. This will go a long way in reducing religious intolerance amongst people world over.
Global Warming: The Council decried the increasing depletion of ozone layer resulting in the increase of temperature that led to the loss of about one hundred people in Mali. The Council observed that with this attendant increase in global warming, the changes has serious impact in agriculture and food security, depleting resources in every part of the country and by extension the world over and posing a serious food security challenges in the face of the rapidly growing population.
The Council therefore called on all citizens and all authorities to do everything possible to safeguard the environment. Similarly, Council enjoined members worldwide to diversify their vocations to ensure sustainability of family needs and not to rely on one source of income.International Crises:
On the war between Israel and other middle East countries, Russia and Ukraine, Council enjoined all parties and the United Nations (UN) to tread with caution in other to avert escalation of the crises to a global war. The Council enjoined believers across the globe to remain steadfast and prayerful in view of the happenings which are clear signs of the end time as described by our Lord Jesus in the scripture.Preaching the Gospel:
The Council enjoined believers to intensify the preaching of the gospel in view of the imminent return of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ as there are yet millions of unreached people across the globe. The mandate of Mathew 28:18-20 is not to be taken with levity as our Lord does not want anyone to perish.
Sequel to sudden resumption of sporadic kill in Mangu and Bokkos local government in plateau central that has so far led to the killing of not fewer than Ten persons and properties of millions of naira destroyed, the Commissioner of Police ,Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, has visited the troubled are to assess the situation.

The Plateau Police Chief however condemned the killings and destructions in the two Local Government Areas assures that, the Police in the State will not rest until perpetrators of the dastardly acts are arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
And further extended his heartfelt condolences to families of those who were gruesomely killed in the ugly incident.
Consequently, the Plateau State Police Command’s on the spot assessment of the deadly attacks in Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of the State has reveals that on the 19th April 2024, at about 0020hrs, unidentified terror group invaded Tilimpat village, in Pushit district of Mangu LGA, killed eleven (11) persons and injured seven (7) others gruesomely murdered.
Similarly, on the 18th April 2024 at about 2000hrs, two (2) persons were killed and three (3) injured in Bokkos attack .
However, the injured persons had been taken to the hospital and are currently responding to treatment.

A politician and philanthropist Alhaji Sadiq Abubakar aka plaza has provide Jenta and Kabon communities with drinkable Water and domestic use to ease the hardship face by the community during dry season.
Speaking to Journalists during the distribution of the water Check Momoh the political stakeholders in the communities said Sadiq decision is informed by the hardship the people of the communities go through mostly during this time of dry season with acute shortage of water.
He Urged the communities to resprocate the gesture and ensure that when Sadiq needed their assistance they should not hesitate to consider him.

Delivering his Closing remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General AE Abubakar highlighted the exceptional display of discipline, endurance, Esprit De corps, teamwork and leadership qualities exhibited by the participants. He emphasized that the competition was organized to enhance the capacity of the troops in addressing emerging security challenges, with a focus on continued training to ensure their effectiveness.
The GOC/Commander OPSH who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Headquarters 3 Division, Brigadier General AU Gumel commended the soldiers for their performance and challenged them to leverage the skills acquired during the competition to effectively address any security threat that may arise. He further emphasized the importance of timely response to emerging threat while discharging their Constitutional roles in a joint environment with other security agencies, in line with the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy
General Abubakar also revealed that the competition primarily focused more on operational training to improve the combat readiness of the troops, enhance their physical fitness, marksmanship skills, Combat Swimming, proficiency, obstacles crossing techniques and endurance across various terrains. He charged the participants to cherish the traditions of Sportsmanship, Cooperation and resilience in their subsequent Courses, Operations and future deployments.
In his vote of thanks, the representative of the Commander 3 Division Garrison, Lt Col AJ Hammadu commended the participants for their discipline and professional conducts through the competition. He applauded the support and guidance of the GOC/Commander OPSH that led to the successful hosting of the competition.
Overall, 3 Division Garrison emerged the Champion while 6 Brigade Jalingo and 43 Engineers Brigade Jos took the second and third position respectively.
Highlights of the event were the presentation of awards and trophies to individuals and formations as well as group photograph.
The Transition Implementation Chairman (TIC)of Jos North local government of plateau state Samson Umaru Dala has lauded Governor mutfwang administration and ministry of budget and economic planing for organizing stakeholders ‘town hall meeting on the citizens engagement in the State budgeting process.
As he said the engagement on the citizens in relation to the state budgeting process, will help to sanitize the people of the council by extension the State at large the consciousness educating them the role to play in budgeting process.
The Transition Implementation Chairman in Jos North LGC Samson Umaru stated this in an interview with Journalists during Northern Zone stakeholders Town Hall Meeting on Citizens Engagement on budgeting process held at Crest Hotel 17th April 2024.
The Transition chairman said when you are aware that Certain items are in the budget , it is the responsibility of the citizens to follow up with those things and ensure they are being implemented and make people accountable.
He stressed that the program is a laudable thing which has not been done before , engaging people, creating awareness for the people to know and aware of items contained in the budget for them to ask questions during implementation for them to ask questions.
On the absence of some people orientated projects in some areas of the council like portable drinking water in some communities like Jenta Adamu, he promised the council under his administration will make sure that those facilities are taken to them.
He said when the Caleb Mutfwang administration came on board as the governor of the state, we discovered that Jenta Adamu to be specific has challenges of portable drinking water ,we embarked on provisions of motorized bole holes for the community but the only challenges is proximity on the facilities.
But stressed that the Jenta Adamu in question has started enjoying portable drinking water.
That is not to say that some of the communities are not still grappling with shortages of portable water supply.
However promised that the government of Caleb Mutfwang is trying hard to see that the issue of portable drinking water in the affected areas in plateau north will sooner or later be a thing of the past.

With this practice Dalung said it will help to stabilize the food prices in the market so the government have to come out with strategic policy to revolutionize agriculture which will include the provision of input , Short loans to real farmers, and the loans should be categorize to deal with the nature of the farming system we have.
Add that farmers with large scale agricultural products will be entitled to higher loan , why farmers with substance agriculture will be assisted with loans for them to develop , you will now have massive food production.
He also advised the government of Ahmed Tinubu to be deeply involve in food production , advised the government to revisit those government agencies hitherto involved in food production in the country that had helped in the availability of food production in the past.
Advised the federal government to encourage the production of Cash crops in the Northern Nigeria like groundnut, Cotton, Rice, and Maize production in large scale.
The government should encourage the production of palm oil and cocoa in the southern part of the country.
This deliberate policy of the government will now laid a solid foundation to food sustenance in the country .

The All Progressive Congress(APC);in Owan has welcome the Former Clark of the House of Representatives Patrick Giwa to it’s fold as he decided to abandoned the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)to join APC following irreconcilable internal crisis currently bedeviling ruling PDP in the state.

The attention of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) has been drawn to viral petitions written by the Coalition of Bokkos Ethnic Youth Nationalities alleging that “shooting of civilians by soldiers compounds the vulnerability of Bokkos residents”. One of the petitions also called for the removal of the Commander of the Step-Up Headquarters 2 in Bokkos.
The allegations above which also pointed out that security agencies failed to quell hostilities during the incident on 13 April 2024 is completely unfounded and intended to tarnish the ongoing efforts of all security agencies to flush out militia groups in the general area. It is therefore necessary to set the record straight in order not to mislead the public and undermine the positive strides being made by security agencies.
This is contained in a Press statement dated 14th April 2024 signed by OPSH Media Information Officer Samson Natip Zhakom and made available to this medium in Jos.
According to the statement,upon receipt of distress calls during the attacks, personnel responded from three fronts which forced the assailants to abandon their mission and flee. It is important to point out that the quick response of forces led to the prompt quelling of the attacks which simultaneously targeted Kopnanle and Mandang Mushu in Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State. At the time of repelling the attack, one person was killed and two others were injured at Kopnanle while three persons were injured at Mandang Mushu (two of the injured persons later died while receiving treatment.
Suffice to state that nothing can be further from the truth than the allegation of personnel being involved in the killing of vigilantes at Kopyal Village in Bokkos Local Government Area.
It is expedient to note that security agencies deployed in Bokkos were not involved in any confrontation with vigilantes as mischievously claimed in the petition. Security agencies were rather preoccupied with restoring normalcy during the confrontations between militia groups of different ethnic groups on 13 April 2024.
Kudos should be given to these troops who remained deployed without break for over 72 hours ensuring that the high grounds and other vulnerable communities were dominated in a bid to protect law abiding citizens.
The deceased militia was found to be one of those killed by other militias who invaded the area during the confrontation between rival militia groups in the area. Also, the use of sophisticated weapons by the acclaimed vigilante was further buttressed by the discovery of eleven (11) rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition in the possession of the dead militia contrary to claims that he was a vigilante who was using dane gun to protect his community, moreover the acclaimed vigilante was already dead before the troops arrived the area. Therefore, the allegation of killing of the vigilante is a calculated effort to feign weakness and exonerate the dead vigilante from his participation in the attacks and counter reprisals.
In another development, the call for the removal of the Commander of the recently established Step-Up Headquarters in Bokkos, Colonel CY Ofurumazi is also malicious. The call is not unconnected with the increased tempo of operations carried out by troops under the command of the senior officer which has denied criminal elements on both sides of the divide the freedom of action.
The desperation of the petitioners may have been aggravated by the impartial stance of Col Ofurumazi during the attack which was already being given a religious connotation to stir sentiment and instigate spill over to other parts of Plateau State as well as his refusal to yield to demands which would have called his neutrality to question.
It is of utmost importance to stress the risks associated with desperate attempts to galvanize negative public opinion against security agencies taking into account the risks it poses. Notwithstanding the deliberate efforts to cast aspersion on personnel, security agencies will continue to take proactive steps to prevent breakdown of law and order in the Joint Operations Area.
Personnel under command would continue to be neutral, just and fair in the combined efforts to ensure peace and security of the citizens. Together, we can make our communities safer for all. Let us shun violence and embrace peaceful coexistence. We therefore urge the public to disregard the misinformation peddled by persons obviously seeking cheap popularity. We urge the public to continue to collaborate and avail security agencies with credible information that will aid in securing law-abiding citizens in the Joint Operations Area.
GOC 3 Div. Declares Open Division’s Inter- Brigade Corporal And Below Competition 2024.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC)3 Division Nigerian Army (NA)/Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General AE Abubakar has today 15 April 2024 declared open the 3 Division Corporal and below Competition 2024. Declaring the one week competition opened at 82 Battalion parade ground, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Jos, the GOC/Commander OPSH remarked that the competition was part of the strategies designed to improve the competence of troops which he said is inline with the three pillars of the Chief of Army Staff command philosophy of Leadership , Operational Effectiveness and Sound Administration.
He challenged the participants to be better -trained and ready to take up the responsibilities of safeguarding the citizens.

The GOC/Commander OPSH, who was the Special Guest Honour at the event commended the efforts of the troops in dealing with all forms of security threat within 3 Division Area of Responsibility. He alluded that the competition was one of the strategies designed to further improve troops’ competence, as they are daily engaged in dealing with multifaceted forms of security challenges ranging from kidnapping, banditry, arms deal, ethno – religious crisis and farmers – harders clashes among others. ” You will all be better – trained soldiers ready to take on responsibilities in the field” he averred .
Represented by the Chief of Staff Headquarters 3 Division, Brigadier General AU Gumel, the GOC/Commander OPSH, further highlighted the benefits of the competition which he said will foster esprit de corps, cultivate healthy rivalry among participating formations and provide an avenue to employ initiative and good judgement.
The GOC/Commander OPSH also revealed that, the NA has recently upscaled it’s training through healthy competitions among various formations across the country. The competition he further noted will bring out the required competence of the Division to consolidate on it’s recent achievements in tackling all forms of criminalities .
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 3 Division Garrison, Brig Gen MK Sanda stated that adequate arrangements were put in place to achieve the ultimate goal of the competition. He urged participants to make new friends and learn from each other.
Represented by the Commanding Officer Administrative Battalion 3 Division Garrison Lieutenant Colonel HA Hammadu the Commander 3 Garrison noted that the event was one of the cardinal pillars of 3 Division training activities for the year geared towards improved performances of her troops. He noted that the event amongst other training activities and exercises was designed to build the capacity of troops of the rank of Corporal and below to be physically fit and professionally
competent to fill in the leadership qualities required to lead men in the field.
Six different formations within 3 Division Area of Responsibility comprising of 6 Brigade Jalingo, 23 Brigade Yola, 33 Artilery Brigade Bauchi, 3 Division Garison as well as 43 Engineer Brigade and 53 Signal Brigade, Jos would be competing in drills, map reading as well as endurance and obstacles crossing.
The opening ceremony was graced by Commanders of various formations, heads of security agencies on the plateau and staff officers at Headquarters 3 Division.
The Former Minister of Sport and youth development in the first tenure of the past president Muhammadu Buhari ,Solomon Dalung again has come hard on president Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he said president Tinubu is deliberately punishing Nigeria electorates with harsh economic policies because they refused to vote for him.
As lgbarman Tarok said it’s only country like Nigeria that a candidate scored as low as 36 percent of the total vote cast in an election is declared winner like in the case of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu who had 36 percent of the total votes case in the 36 states including FCT and was declared winner in 2023 presidential election while the remaining 64 percent of electorates votes were left in the electoral Cold to gnash their political teeth contrary to electoral constitution guarding declaration of elections results.
Dalung who has become a pain on the political neck of Tinubu led administration since assumption of office as president in the controversial general , said Tinubu regime is the only one since 1999 without transition committee like his predecessor which contributed to it clueless policies.
Dalung was speaking recently in an interview with Journalists in his residence at building materials market in Jos South Local government of the State.
Dalung said he expected President Tinubu to be grateful to God for having Mahmood Yakubu as the Chairman of INEC in the country who hastingly declared him president without recourse to whether he constitutionally merit the majority votes speit out in the electoral constitution .
The Former Minister frowned at the pronouncement of Tinubu by Mahmood Yakubu INEC chairman as the winner of the election even when he only won 36 percent of the total vote cast which has never been done anywhere in the world except Nigeria.

Stressed that these two areas of the economy the government have touched, is the major live wire of the economy, petrol and electricity as government has recklessly introduced very ridiculous price against the people.
Dalung lamented that president Tinubu just slept, wake Tinubu wake up from the wrong side of his bed and made a pronouncement of the removal of subsidy and embarked on the sharing companies of friends, relations in the name of phase (1) importing fuel to supplement the crisis created which led to the pronouncement of the careless statement.
He Condemned the recent sharing of palliative which he described as rhetoric of the government where the items where shared to contractors, aid to the President, members of the National Assembly and States Governors.
The palliative regime has also created a lot of calamity from the distribution , the statistics of death toll from the people scrambling for the palliative where a significant quantity of food is acquired for politically motivated reasons.

Plateau State Police Command has paraded not fewer than 66 persons for various crimes committed during Eld Al Fitr Celebration in the State.
The Commissioner of Police Plateau State Hassan Steve Yabanet revealed this to journalists during Press briefing held at the command headquarters 12th April 2024 .
The police boss said during the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations and the arrested two (2) notorious armed robbery suspects and recovered arms and ammunition.
Further add that the command during the period under review, arrested suspected Cult members .
He said the festive periods are usually characterized by fanfare and celebrations. However, in Plateau State, the good people of the state have always expressed their reservations whenever they are privileged to observe and celebrate any of the notable Muslim festivals.
This is as a result of the recurring attacks on law abiding Muslim faithfuls whenever such events are celebrated by members of the inglorious Sara-Suka and other cult groups, street urchins and criminal elements.
“During my last press briefing, I made a promise to the good people of Plateau State that this ugly trend will be arrested and will be a thing of the past. In other to achieve this, Officers of the Plateau State Police Command were strategically deployed to all praying grounds, vulnerable locations and efficient motorized patrol put in place all over the state”.
The CP graciously told the that the Eid-El-Fitr celebration in the state was peaceful and devoid of any rancor or attack on worshippers.
He said the command Gentlemen strategic deployment has paid off, as a total of Sixty Six (66) suspects were arrested at different locations within the state, and the following exhibits recovered from them.
;Fourteen (14) Machetes Eight (8) daggers ,Large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp ,Six (6) tricycles Four (4) Motorcycles, bottle containing illicit substances.
As all the suspects are undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court soonest.
Arrest of suspected armed Robbers and recovery of armed and Ammunition 10th April, 2024 at about 0700hrs, one Laulau Jibrin ‘m’ of Zunzugut Mavo came to the Nigeria Police Force, Divisional Headquarters Wase, Wase LGA and reported that on 9th April, 2024, at about 2300hrs, some armed men came to his house at same address and robbed him of his motorcycle.
On the strength of the above complaint, Police Detectives attached to Wase Division in collaboration with Vigilantes swung into action and arrested two of the armed robbery suspects through credible intelligence. The suspects are; one Musa Adamu and one Sale Joga both males of Mavo Community in Wase Local Government Area.
Exhibits recovered from them include; one AK-47 rifle loaded with three (3) rounds of 7.62mm Ammunition. The suspects have been transferred to State CID Jos and are currently undergoing interrogations, and will soon be charged to court.I wish to state emphatically that the Plateau State Police Command under my leadership will not tolerate any form of lawlessness. Parents and guardians are therefore enjoined to pay close attention to their children and wards as no law breaker will be spared.Gentlemen of the Press, your continuous supports for the Nigeria Police Force cannot be over emphasized. The Former President of Nigeria , also the Former military Head of state held at separate times, Olusegun Obasanjo had reminisce back when he was military Head of State of the country.
The used the flash back to reflect on the achievement of the military under his supervision and said When I was military head of state, we ordered 19 new ships to be built for the Nigerian National Shipping Line (NNSL), which was owned by the federal government. We had about five at the time, and with 19, we were to have 24 ships.
We took delivery of some before we left office. President Shehu Shagari took delivery of the remaining balance. When I returned after 20 years, the shipping line had been liquidated. Not one ship left.
Let me tell you the story of one of the ships. They sold it for half a million dollars. Then, they started the Oron merchant navy school and needed a ship for training. They bought the ship they had sold for half a million dollars for $2 million and spent another $1.5 million to refit it so it could be seaworthy.
The ship went on the first voyage a week after I became president in 1999. One of the first things they brought to me was that the ship had been arrested for not being seaworthy and that I should bring $1 million to pay as fine for the ship that had been detained. I requested that they allow me time to look at the issues, and when I studied the issues, I told them to inform those who arrested the ship that I had gifted them the ship.
The following day, the ship was released without Nigeria paying a dime. You can guess what happened there.”

In his statement,the Plateau Police boss who described ITF as the human training and development hub of the country, said Nigeria Police is in tone with the crucial role the organization plays in nation building and that the Police is fully committed to maintaining peace, and providing security to pave way for development in the country.
He told the DG that sequel to his assumption of office, he took drastic measures to improving peace on the Plateau which include; visitation of crisis epic centers, initiation of signing of peace packs among communities to curb communal attacks, organizing peace and security meeting with stakeholders among others.
According to the CP, it is evident that crime has reduced to the bearest minimum in the State as criminals are now apprehensive because they hardly escape when they commit crime within the Jos metropolis.
The Commissioner of Police further hinted, that his Command has made tremendous breakthroughs in the fight against crime and criminality in the State, saying the massive harvest of criminals in the recent parading of suspects at the Police State Headquarters is another evidence that Plateau State is no longer habitable for criminals.
Earlier in his remarks, the ITF boss, Dr. Hafiz O. Ogun said that his encounter with some Police officers has given him a better understanding of the challenges of the police as an organization and also changed his perception about the police.

The industrial court sitting in plateau state has adjourned the matter involving Pensioners on the plateau to 25th June 2024 for indefinite hearing.
In an interview with the counsel to plentiff Pensioners said the court was forced to adjourned the matter to June 25th 2024 because the judges in the matter are currently on National assignment of Election Tribunal in some states.
When journalists wanted to know who are the Pensioners involved whether they from the State or Federal in the matter, the counsel to the plentiff declined comment on the ground that is too early to diverge those involved and the grounds for their demands.
He promised to disclose to disclose to the press in the next adjourned date when the matter must have entered indefinite hearing.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP), has frowned at the recent selective methods adopted by the leadership of Plateau State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt.Hon.Gabriel Dawan to swear in Nine Members out of Sixteen directed by Appeal Court Judgement.
As the 16 affected constituencies have been denied representative in the state House and deliberately deprived of laws that would have affected their various constituencies.
The concern was raised by the National Vice Chairman of SDP North Central Hon. Abubakar Dogara in a press statement dated 6th April 2024 personally signed by him and made available to journalists in Jos, plateau state.
Hon. Dogara said considering the time wasted by the leadership of the state house of Assembly in implementing the Appeal court directive to swear in the 16 affected members,one would have thought that the house in its wisdom do the needful and swear in all the affected members.
He questioned the rationale behind the action and what the house leadership is aiming at for taking the decision.
The SDP National Vice Chairman use the statement to appeal to the Executive Governor of the state Barrister Caleb Mutfwang to weigh into the matter and prevail on the house as father of the state for the the remaining (7) members to be sworn in to join their counterparts in the house.
However appreciate the steps taken so far by swearing in the (9) members, appealed to them to complete the exercise by swearing-in all the affected members for the house to settle down for legislative business to achieve democratic dividend that the state is long yearning for.
Not fewer than 35 State Governors in may just be getting ready to answer questions from Civil Society Organization (cso) over the 9 billion allocated to the state jointly by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is as Anti-Corruption Body, Follow The Money, (FTM) has accused 35 state governors in the country of hiding the N9 billion palliative and infrastructure development funds provided by the federal government saying that only Plateau State has been open on the money.
FTM co-founder, Hamzat Lawal in an interview said Nigeria’s governors have kept sealed lips despite receiving N7 billion for infrastructure development and N2 billion as palliatives to cushion against fuel subsidy removal.
Noting how FTM sent Freedom of Information, FOI requests to to all 36 governors to confirm their receipt of the money and the utilization of the same, he said:
“It is only one governor, which is the Plateau State governor that responded to our FOI request,” who he said asked for time to respond.
“After two weeks, I got a detailed correspondence from the executive governor’s office giving us details of the beneficiaries for the N2b and also details on how they were intending to spend the N7b on capital projects for infrastructural development.
“We have also deployed people within Plateau State to go and verify one on those who were beneficiaries of the palliatives and two on the deployment for the infrastructural development projects.”
Noting the failure of the 35 other governors to account for the money, Lawal said:
“As I speak to you, 35 state governors have not acknowledged let alone provide information. Mind you, under the law they are mandated to respond within seven days but as I speak to you, they have not acknowledged let alone respond.
“And they have collected N7b for infrastructural development and N2b for palliatives support for the removal of fuel subsidy which is N9b. why are they not saying anything. Why are they not accounting for this money.”
Noting that focus had been on the Federal Government and not on States, he said:
“This is where the state assemblies come into play. I always say that without the state House of Assembly and the National Assembly we don’t have a democracy because that’s where they ensure check and balance.”
“What’s supposed to happen is for the state assemblies to call for public hearings. Mind you we have public account committees that are chaired by opposition parties. Why are the public account committees not calling for public hearing and holding the executive governors accountable.
“We cannot have 35 state governors and think that they are above the law. The FOI Act is clear, they are mandated and compelled to respond to us. This is worrisome. When you have executive governors who think that they have undertaken or have collected a state that is mired with debts.”
“If we cannot hold our state governors accountable what will happen is that we will now have state captures and that will lead to anarchy. That is totally unacceptable. I hope that organisations like SERAP will hold the governors accountable.”
“When the minister of finance first made the announcement some of them (governors) came forward to say that they didn’t get the money. But now that they have all gotten the money, they have all kept mute, gone deaf, they don’t want to respond.
“Obviously, there is something for them to hide because when public officials are not willing to give information, that is tantamount to corruption. That means they have something to hide. If they don’t have something to hide like the Plateau State governor, they would have provided these detailed information,” the FTM official said.
In a display of compassion and commitment towards the surviving families of Fallen Heroes of the Nigeria Police Force, a United States-based Charity organization, Kedrick Scribner Foundation has flagged-off the long awaited edition of its Widow’s Mite 3.0 in Lagos, Nigeria. The grand event, which took place Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, A.K.A. HEKAN, Mounted Troops Police Barracks, Ikeja, had widows of the fallen heroes gracing the occasion alongside their children.
These families were carefully selected from different barracks within the Lagos State metropolis, which includes the following: Mounted Troops Police Barracks, Ikeja, Police Barracks, Obalende, Mopol 20 Police Barracks, Ikeja, Mopol 22, Police Barracks, Alapere, Police Barracks, Idimu and Highway Police Barracks, Ikeja. Building on the successes of the previous edition of the Widow’s Mite 1.0 and 2.0, this third edition solidifies the foundation’s commitment to supporting the underprivileged.
Past successes of the foundation also include Widow’s Mite 1.0, which provided essential items to over 80 widows. These items include, 25kg of rice, 1 gallon of cooking oil, sauces, spices, dried milk, flour, and canned goods. Additionally, about 1000 people were fed, after the Sunday church service.
Similarly, the Widow’s Mite 2.0, offered a three days of events, featuring medical testing, free medical insurance for 180 Widows of the Fallen Heroes, with 25 fully paid scholarships granted to the children of the widows to study at federal universities in Nigeria, for a period of four-years. During the event, about 2000 people were fed after the Sunday church service.
The third edition of the Widow’s Mite 3.0 witnessed the inauguration of the Kedrick Scribner Vocational Center, a testament to the Foundation’s dedication to widows’ empowerment in Nigeria. The center, promises to offer sewing vocational training and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for the widows and their children.
A 6-month certificate course in sewing, covering pattern cutting, dressmaking, and traditional wears making will be featured in the Vocational Training centre. Trained widows will have access to sewing machines to support their families by crafting clothing for sale. Additionally, a 3-month computer application course will be offered, covering beginner basic computer training to advanced-level skills.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kedrick Scribner Foundation, Dr. Kedrick Scribner, who is a Minister of the gospel and in Law Enforcement in the United States, while expressing delight over the success of the event shared his motivation for supporting families of the falling heroes in Nigeria:
“I grew up in a home, with 4 siblings. My mother was a single parent, we lived in the projects in Baltimore city, which is one of the most dangerous projects in Baltimore city called ‘Murphy Home ‘. My mother worked for Social Security Administration for 50 years, and that is where I got my work ethic from.
So growing up, we were poor, but my mother maintained a good home as where there is food on the table, clothes on our backs and made sure that we went to school. This is what has engrained in me to help those that are not as fortunate as myself, because I understand the plight of being poor and I understand what it is like to not be able to have very much and to have your mother go out and slave, just so she could provide something on the table for her children.”
Kedrick Scribner Foundation also provided the sum of two million naira (2,000,000) to HEKAN church, Mounted Troops Police Barracks, to support the education of children of the fallen heroes, and orphans in the HEKAN community. Monies provided were solely for the children’s school uniforms, books and tuition fees at the HEKAN school.
Dr. Scribner, while speaking with newsmen in Lagos, called on spirited individuals, organizations and government institutions to contribute towards supporting the Widows of the Fallen Heroes, Orphans and the people living in the Valley.

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong says he is impressed with the pace and quality of work at the British-American Flyover construction and dualisation to Lamingo Roundabout Junction.
Governor Lalong who undertook a brief unscheduled visit to the site said the level of work is commendable as the contractor has been on site all the time carrying out the construction work.
He said he was happy with the quality of work which meets specifications and is very optimistic that with the commitment of the contractor, the project will be delivered on schedule.
Lalong who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Works Hon. Victor Lapan said the British-American Flyover is one of the many projects that President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to visit Plateau State to commission in the coming months.
Project Manager of the contractor, Craneburg Construction Company Ltd. Engr. Charbel told the Governor that the company was working assiduously to keep faith with the terms of the Contract and also ensure that the aspirations of the Rescue Administration are met.
He said both the staff and management of the Company are working round the clock to complete the Flyover and Dualisation as most of the critical infrastructure has been provided.
Plateau State Commisioner for Works Hon. Victor Lapan commended the Governor for his commitment to funding the project through the special financing arrangement that has removed the constraints of delays of payments for certificates of work done.
He said the Ministry and its technical staff have also been supervising the project to ensure that it is constructed with the best materials and according to global engineering standards.

He further said by virtue of Section 187 , substituting name of Candidate ,you most follow the normal procedure of Section 29,31,32 and 33 of the electoral Act.
He further explained that for Candidate to withdraw ,is either death or voluntary withdrawal,and thank God that non either of the above stated misfortunes has befall his client .
Now when we came to court,the defendant Counsel said they didn’t need the consent of my client to effect any substitution because the governship candidate has withdraw, so also goes the Deputy Governor .
And further add that his candidature is entirely and established by the Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria which supercede the Electoral Act.
Narrating further,ones he is norminated from form EC9,he become Candidate at the same time ,have an invested interest and you cannot do any thing without his consent .
He said the defendant respondent disagree with the position of the law in the matter, and said since the governship Candidate has withdraw,he goes with the running mate, that is their defense but we are saying no.
So we wrote letter on behalf of my client to INEC asking why they change the name of my client, without his consent, they replied us that some persons brought form affixed with affidavit proving the withdrawal of the Deputy Governor, and by virtue of section 33 of the electoral Act.
On close look at the document,we discovered it come from federal high court Abuja.
But our client engineer Jack Bot still maintained that he didn’t sign the document showing that he resigned.
Base on his persistence that he didn’t sign any resignation documents,I wrote on behalf of my client , though with his consent,to the Federal High Court Abuja Division to verify the authenticity of the document.
What he described as rude shock from the reply recieved from Federal High Court Abuja, they denied any knowledge of the Purported document that shows that the running Mate to the party Governship Candidate ,Engineer Jack Dung Bot resigned.
Barrister Abdullahi said the Purported document which showed the withdrawal of the Deputy Governor has continued to raised alot of mind burgling questions mark in it.
An he likened the present situation to a pregnant woman and foetus (undeveloped pregnancy) said you can’t say the pregnancy is yet to develop to full child and is not having right , that is a lie.
“Ones the foetus is formed,it has fundamental right to life that is why abortion is criminal in most countries including Nigeria.
“This what they are trying to do as they are trying to abort the child before it develop into Child,we are saying no, is against in spirit of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, even the electoral law”.

In their separate arguments, the second respondent and the embattle Running Mate to Patrick Dakum Edward Pwajok SAN, allied himself with LP urged the court to strike out the suit of the Claimant Applicant Engineer Jack Dung Bot for lacking in jurisdiction , abuse of court process .
He further urged the court to award the 2nd defendant 50 million naira cost against the Claimant, they should go and sin no more.
Earlier, the 1st Respondent applicant accused the Claimant of abusing court process as the suit filed challenging the substitution of his name with Edward Pwajok SAN, to say the least diminished the integrity of the court and urged the court to mete punishment on the Claimant to serve as deterrent to any counsel that will want to embark on filing flamsy process on behalf of their client.
However,the presiding Judge Justice Docas Agishi adjourned the matter to date to be communicated to Parties for Judgement.
Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has described the late wife of former Plateau State Deputy Governor Nggwo Lydia Kachallom Bot-Mang as a mother who dedicated her life to service of humanity and God.
Lalong said this at the Service of Songs for the late Nggwo Lydia Bot-Mang held at her residence in Zawan, Jos South Local Government Area.
The Governor said the deceased who was a professional nurse combined her training and heart of compassion and love to work for the interest of others particularly the less privileged in society.
He said she gave her very best to support widows, orphans, the poor and needy as well as people of her immediate community in various ways.
He praised her for supporting her late husband throughout his political and professional life enabling him to rise to the top and contribute to the development of Plateau State and Nigeria.
Her Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Timothy Dabot said she was a faithful woman who believed in God and supported the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as developing physical structures of the Church.
He praised for her commitment to the Church and generosity as well as mentoring which has assisted many young ones to find the right path in life.
Her friends, colleagues, classmates and relations all reflected on her good attributes which they say will remain with them forever.
While responding on behalf of the family, son of the deceased and former Commissioner for Works Plateau State Pam Bot-Mang said mama was a woman who loved and disciplined her children while building their character.
Pam Bot-Mang who is also the APC Gubernatorial running mate said his mother never supported injustice in politics and always stood for the truth.
He said they will greatly miss her love and care but are consoled by her testimony of impact in the lives of other people across society.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s Committee on illicit drug control for Quaan-Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State has been inaugurated.
Inaugurating the Committee in Ba’ap, the Council’s headquarters, on Tuesday November 23, 2022, the Executive Chairman of the LGC Hon Ernest Abner Da’a charged them to to work assiduously on their mandate of sensitizing the public on the dangers of illicit drugs.
Represented by his Deputy, Hon Helen Henniet Wapmuk, the Chairman who acknowledged the serious harm the use of illicit drugs have inflicted on several communities within the Local Government, expressed the hope of a turnaround given the caliber of members of the Committee.
The inauguration of the Committee is the outcome of the visit of Gen Buba Marwa, the Chairman of the NDLEA, on Governor Simon Bako Lalong, where it was agreed that in order to curb drug abuses, such Committees should be established in each of the 17 LGAs in the state.
Membership of the Committee is drawn from the NDLEA, Education, Health, Women Affairs, Office of the Council Chairman, clergy, traditional institution, NGO, Youths, among other groups, with the Council Chairman as Chairman and Area Commander as it’s Co-Chairman.
The Committee has among its mandate, the implementation of the NDLEA policy of drug reduction, as well as develop appropriate intervention strategies to prevent use of illicit drugs.
The inauguration was witnessed by members of the Executive and Legislative Council, clergy, traditional rulers, Staff of the NDLEA and representatives of the various interest groups.
The High Court sitting in Plateau State Division has thrown out the application of governship candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda seeking to join Suit filed by the party’s prospectives delegates challenging their disenfranchisement in the delegates elections for gross incompetent and lacking in merit.
Ruling on the application filed by Nentawe, the presiding judge , Justice A.l Ashoms ruled that the applicant Dr. Nentawe can’t be party to the suit because he is not being challenged by the Claimants, more so that he is not a political party but mere Candidate who is just a product of the defendant applicant, APC.
Justice Ashoms further ruled that the motion he is seeking to be joined is not yet deemed by the court ,and has no life in it as it’s impossible to build something on nothing which can’t stand hence the application lack substantial merit the court cannot allow to scale through in line with the rules of this honorable court, however struck it out.
The matter was last Adjourned to 22nd November,2022, for ruling on the application brought before Justice Ashoms by Nentawe to be joined on the suit because the action affects him as the Governship Candidate of APC.

Ashoms ruled that the suit Nentawe is seeking to join has not even come into existence ,not deemed by the court and still lifeless, and what then is he joining ,he asked.
In an interview with journalists, the Claimant Applicant represented by
their Counsel barrister Abba said the court was adjourned till today 22nd November,202 for ruling on application brought before it by Nentawe, indicating interest to be joined on the suit.
We are happy that the court has answer our prayers by sending the application of Dr.Nentawe seeking to join on the suit filed by Prospectives Delegates who where disenfranchised in the delegates even held by the party.
He however revealed that the court has called on the parties in the case to address the court on certain issues on the area of law particularly boarded on whether the matter is pre-election matter or not.
Barrister Abba further stressed that we are of the opinion that the Constitution is clear on the matter as who is an aspirants .He described aspirant as person who are vying for an office of the platform of a political party.
He further said in this case is different ball game as the agrieved prospectives delegates are party members who sort to participate in ward Congress ,and they where disenfranchised ,for emphasis they are not aspirants of APC as political party.
He said ordinarily, argument of this nature suppose to be argued with the main case,the court in his wisdom have to severed it and said we should address the court on the issue.
Abba revealed that the ruling on Nentawe application on whether to join on the suit he explained is predicated on the amended originating Surmount the applicant respondent Dr Nentawe sort to join a lifeless documents,as you cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stand.
So application of Dr. Nentawe seeking to be join on the matter lack solid foundation and it has been thrown into the dustbin where it rightly belong.
The court agreed with us , said no ,is like putting the cat before the horse ,it was premature, unnecessary .
And also described the jurisdiction of the court as life wire of every action which I admitted as lawyer.The federal High Court have the exclusive jurisdiction to trial all pre-election cases ,so whether the jurisdiction is that of Federal High Court or State High Court, will be determined by whether the matter is re-election matter or not.
Section 285 of the Constitution gives two instance most be taken by the the aspirant and the other most be taken by political party.
I have demostrate it times without number that this is not a pre-election matter,we have our opinions.
If we canvass it before the the court ,if he does what we want, will clap for him.
But if not we go on appeal.
However,the matter has been adjourned to 14th December,2023 for parties to address court.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali has said, understanding the causes, management and prevention of Fire outbreak are necessary to avert fire disaster in Nigerian Army Barracks. He made this known while declaring open a seminar organized to sensitize troops and families on fire prevention and management at Headquarters 3 Division Jos.
The GOC/Commander OPSH who was represented at the occasion by the Chief of Staff 3 Division, Brigadier General Davis Kurmi, said fire disaster can occur in any phase of human life. He revealed that, the harmattan season is prone to fire outbreak at the slightest negligence, nevertheless, knowledge of the causes and preventive measures before it occurs are essential to mitigate the effect, he said.
General Ali said, fire disaster is capable of destroying lives and property within the shortest possible time. He noted that fire disaster respects no rank, status or gender. He charged participants to ensure maximum application of the knowledge gained. He thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for his efforts towards ensuring improved welfare of troops and their dependents.
Also Speaking, the representative of the Chief of Logistics Army, the Director Supply and Transport, Department of Army Logistics, Brigadier General BO Ogunbumi said the lecture was organized under the directive of the COAS, to equip troops with the required knowledge to stand and fight fire before it gets to a devastating stage. He noted that the COAS is always saddened by incidence where lives and property are lost to fire disaster for lack of knowledge on how to fight it.
Delivering his lectures at the seminar, the guest speaker, Brigadier General Moses Ikobah said, knowledge of efficient fire prevention skills are necessary to safety of Nigerian Army assets and personnel. He noted, having modern knowledge of fire and safety management are stimulus to optimal response in an event of fire disaster in Army facilities. He further revealed, proper storage of items, regular check on sockets, correct usage and proper reporting of equipment are some preventive measures to avert fire disasters at home and offices.
In his vote of thanks, the Commander 73 Supply and Transport Brigade, Brigadier General Solomon Er noted, the lectures have widened the horizon of troops’ knowledge on causes of fire disaster and response mechanisms required to mitigate its effect.

Call on plateau State government to investigate the recent death of a 11 year old Margaret Joshua who died following the maltreatment on her from woman Mrs Nneamaka Nwanchukwu who brought miss Margaret Joshua now deceased to plateau state as maid , and bring the perpetrator to Justice to serve as deterrent to those who derived pleasure in maltreating ,and violating the right of helpless children under their care.
The group raised the alarm during press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, plateau State Chapter Secretariat 21st November, 22, in Jos.
In their separate narration,lnternational Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Plateau State Branch said is sad to report the cruel and untimely passing on of Margaret Joshua, 11years old girl from Kebbi State.
The death of the victim, allegedly followed the physical abuse meted on her by one Nneamaka Nwachukwu. The perpetrator took this displaced girl by reason of the crisis in her State as a house girl.
The group further add that there is no gainsaying that people are awakened to the reality of the evils perpetrated in our society ,and are calling for justice over the death of the helpless 11 year old miss Margaret .
They stressed that this showns through numerous calls from different places seeking to know the steps that FIDA Plateau has taken to see that justice is done.
Narrating how the group got the information, said a whistle blower called the Chairperson of FIDA Plateau State on Monday, 14th Nov. 2022 and reported that a case of child abuse was lodged in K/Vom Police Station. He further said that the child was hospitalized in Mandela Hospital and later taken to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) where she was immediately supported with Oxygen, medications and thereafter had blood transfusion.
“Shortly after the call, he called again to say that she had passed on ,the situation she described as devastating news. FIDA quickly called the DPO of the Station to verify the information and he confirmed to be true. We told him that we are interested in the matter and would want to meet with him but he didn’t oblige the request because he was at the SCID for briefing. He gave us appointment to meet him on Wednesday the 16th Nov. 2022 because ,according to him Tuesday was not convenient.”
“FIDA was at K/VOM Police Station on the said Wednesday where she met the perpetrator of the crime, Mrs. Nneamaka Nwachukwu, from Enugu State but married to Imo State indigene. She is 31 years old mother of two children, a Microbiologist with National Institute of Trypanomiasis Research Vom.
On interaction with her on the issue she claimed that Margaret was into masturbation and lesbianism,She said it was the water she boild to soak her towel before beating Margaret, that she fell into.
She further said that she could not immediately take her to hospital because her husband was not at home and nobody could take care of her two little children.
She further explained that Margaret ran away from home after the incident and she could not look for her because she needed to wait for 48 hours as specified by law before searching for her where about, or reporting to the police that she has not seen her house help.
It was at the station that we knew that it was a good Samaritan that picked Margaret by the side of his house that took her to the police station and later to the hospital.
The case was transferred to State CID on 18th Nov. 2022 , FIDANS went there and met the Assistant Commissioner of Police who assured us of their commitment to do the needful in this case.
They however appreciated the Nigerian police for the assistance they rendered so far for trying to save the late Margaret .
“We hope that the investigation will soon be concluded and the perpetrator prosecuted because the world is listening, watching and waiting for the outcome of this case.”
And revealed that the case of late Miss Margaret Joshua has attracted National lamentation, which has further proves that the rate of Child abuse in Nigeria is at its peak. Almost everyday, there’s a case of child abuse reported in the media or shared on the social media. She maintained.
The group who said “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” ! Is calling on the state governor Simon Bako Lalong and federal government to go beyond mere paper work of Child Right Law and implement it that will help to reduce the current incessant child abuse across the state and nation as a whole as they will no longer allow these inhuman, and animalistic acts to thrive in our society.
And further said Child abuse is indeed a social ill that must be addressed with actionable commitment else the future of our country will be made up of abused children who grow up to become loveless, emotionally withdrawn and hardened thereby leading to involvement in all sorts of social vices which often leads to a troubled society.
They revealed shocking revelations that from June-Oct 22,not fewer than 240 cases of child abuse reported in Jos alone some dead like this Miss Margret , while others life threatening, which they described as two high for state like plateau to couple with ,hence the need for the government to weigh in to avoid the situation getting out of hand.
We must ensure that this heinous crime is eliminated from our society,what is before us in Margaret’s case is more than physical abuse .
The grievous physical abuse of Margaret has metamorphosed to death.
The group lamented that the so called father of late Margaret came to Jos on hearing that his daughter is dead,the group met him in the office of Assistant Commissioner of Police ,he has even gone
to court and obtained Affidavit of withdrawal of the case when the corpse of the victim is till in the morgue at JUTH.
The group however send a strong worded recommendations to the the government at all levels, that the
perpetrators of what can be best described as dastardly act against humanity, must be held responsible and punishment to serve as deterrent to others kind of Mrs Nneamaka Nwanchukwu in the society.
Call on the government to without wasting further time, implement numerous legislations which criminalizes Child abuse and spelt out punishment, that can be effectively relied on to hold any perpetrator accountable.
The group commended the Plateau State government who has since adopted the Child’s Right Law, Administration of Criminal Justice Law, Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law and the Plateau State Penal Code No.7 2017 Vol. 1.
All these laws they said provide more protection for victim of Child abuse. The protection will be evidenced when the force of law is not in the books but in its implementation. The Criminal Justice System can no longer afford to delay justice for the victims and survivors.
And called on the Judiciary to make designated Courts for crimes of these nature more functional to ensure speedy dispensation of such cases.
The Society must play its expected and mandatory role in ensuring that the child abuse pandemic is no longer patronized in Nigeria.
There must be a greater concern and total condemnation of such heinous acts by all. We can no longer encourage and promote the repugnant culture of silence.
The trending slogan is “When You See Something,” say something and something will be done to save the ugly situation”such as this.
They advice couples to give birth to the numbers of children they can effectively carter for to avoid situation similar to late Margaret Joshua.
It is not a sign of responsibility to produce children and abandon them with people you don’t know to carter for.
The Provost of Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN), Rev.Prof Samuel Peni Ango has admonlished graduating students to integrate faith with everything they do ,be it a Politics , Public Servant , businessman para-military or any of the human endeavours.
And further charged them to allow their faith to be part of what they do, because that is part to solution to corruption, criminality and other vices currently pervading our society.
Professor Samuel Ango who is the Provost of the College Theological College Of Northern Nigeria TCNN, stated this in an interview with journalists during the 58th
convocation ceremony of the College on Saturday 18th Nov, 2022, held at the TCNN Chapel Ground , Bukuru , Jos south LG, Plateau State.
He said when that attitude is formed it help in permeating into the society , definitely it will help in attitudinal Change of behavior and the way things are done.
The Provost stressed that when that is done, the ethics will be stronger, people will stick to their promises, those awarded with contract , will execute it transparently and expendiously without cutting corners. Because God loves Righteousness and despiced iniquities which is our guiding principal in TCNN ,because at our chaple we continue to emphasize on it.
He further said because of the current dynamism of the society, as the College want to move with current trend,the school inculcate into it curriculum courses like Public Theology, Center for Theology, where both Missionaries , Public Servant, Politicians come to take Theological courses in both under graduate to Post Graduate level.

The newly appointed Resident Electoral Commissioner(REC)of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Plateau State, Dr Oliver Tersoo Agundu has paid a familiarization visit to the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army who doubled as the Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN OPSH, Major General Ibrahim Ali with an appeal for synergy to ensure a successful 2023 General Elections.
Dr Agundu said he was on a familarization visit to the Division as the newly appointed REC to show his respect to critical stakeholder in Democracy.
He noted that adequate security was key to providing an enabling environment for Nigerians to exercise their franchise in the 2023 General elections.
He further solicited for effective collaboration between the Nigerian Army and INEC to ensure that hoodlums are not allowed to destabilize Nigeria’s democratic adventure.
Dr Agundu also informed the GOC/Commander OPSH of the ongoing display of preliminary voters register to enable the voters check their names at various wards. He encouraged eligible voters, including soldiers and officers to avail themselves the opportunity to cross-check their names.

High Court sitting in Plateau State Division has adjourned the matter filed by some aggrieved All Progressive Congress APC delegates Elections aka prospectives delegates for ruling on application by the governship Candidate of the party in the state to join in the matter.
The aggrieved delegates has instituted legal action against the party for excluding them as the legitimately recognized delegates of the party in the primary Election and used other delegates who are not know,and against the the law.
The matter which is before Justice A.I Ashon is slated today 17th November,2022 for ruling on the application of APC governship Candidate Nentawe Yilwatda seeking to join on the matter.
The Counsel representing Nentawe A.G Yirvoms , told the court that they are having motion on notice dated 24th Oct,22 ,supported by 18 paragraph affidavit and relies on all the depositions there in.
He further pointed out that attached to the application is exhibit A,B &C, accompanied by written address.
However pray the court to grant the application and stressed that the crux of their application is that his client ,Dr.Nentawe Yilwatda who is the governship Candidate of the party APC,is a product of the election conducted ,and this application affect him directly and argued the court to grant it.
In his argument the Claimants represented by his counsel S.A Abba vehemently disagreed with the position of Nentawe for claiming to be a product of the election.
Abba in his deposition filed counter affidavit, dated 30th Nov,22, with 4 paragraph Counter affidavit accompanied with written address .
He said the suit of the Claimants is challenging exclusion of the party , so Nentawe is not an Officer of the party,the position is the cause of action before the Applicant become flag bearer .
He however stressed that the Applicant content that the suit is filed in bad faith, because it was filed after the emergence as the Governship flag bearer of the party on the platform of APC.
Urged the court to throw the application of Nentawe to Join on the suit into trash can it rightly belong.
In an interview with Abba , Counsel to the Claimants, said what transpired in the court today is that both parties had argued their matter, on our part ,the Claimants we are saying that Nentawe Yilwatda is not having business to join in the suit ,the reasons we canvassed in the court to buttress our argument.
Our hope is that he doesn’t joined in the suit because his intension to join on the suit amount to Busy Body ,and better described as interloper, an intruder and doesn’t have business in the matter.

The prayers was rendered through press statement signed by the Director of Directorate Media of the governship candidate on the platform of People Democratic party PDP, in Plateau state Yiljab Abraham ,and made available to this medium in Jos, Plateau State.
The statement captioned ” Praying For The Mockery Of Plateau State”, frowned at the patch-patch work Lalong APC led government in the state hurriedly did on selected roads showed up in the over-decorated stadium in Jos.

Sen Tinubu was somehow right. He might have had a better sense of history and remembered that the name of the first National Chairman of the PDP was SOLOMON – Chief SOLOMON Daushep Lar.
Who fought off the presidential antics of the NPN to hold back the former larger Plateau for the NPP in 1983. And the then NPN State Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu was right there in the stadium on the same row of seats with Tinubu.
But even more, the last outing of Chief SOLOMON Lar was in this very stadium when on December 13, 2013, his casket was brought in and Nigerians across the nation all trooped here to give their last respects. So, Tinubu appeared to be teaching some people history. And the import was: This Stadium cannot be taken over by anyone that battles the soul of SOLOMON Lar and the patriots of Plateau!
APC’s expensive attempt to mock the suffering people of Plateau State in particular, and Nigeria in general was mired in trepidation on Monday partly with Tinubu’s straight-from-the heart prayer:
“GOD BLESS PD…”
Tinubu couldn’t help it; couldn’t hold it back.
A Plateau youth who saw it all said, “FINALLY TINUBU SAW THE VISION AND DECLARED PDP WINNER OF 2023.”
The national spokesperson of the PDP Hon. Debo Ologunagba rightly put it when he wrote in a statement that, “The prayer by the embattled Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for God’s blessing on the Peoples Democratic Party PDP further confirms his innermost conviction that the PDP represents the hope and aspiration of majority of Nigerians for a secure, prosperous future under a united country.”
The Director-General of the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council in Plateau , Chief Letep Dabang, also wrote,
“Bola Tinubu in Jos, like Balak and Balam, went out to curse Israel but God made them to bless Israel instead. Thanks Mr. BAT.”
Within hours, a song was released applauding how APC’s Tinubu has also favoured PDP with “God bless PD/APC.” And he had never been a card‐carrying member of the PDP! But like many other Nigerians, Tinubu’s heart is filled with the good abundance of PDP and he freely advertised the party to his party officials and members.
But what provided the bigger drama was when APC members threw caution to the wind and engaged the security personnel in a show of violent frustration. They were tired of being lied to. They threw objects freely into the dusty sky. A party supporter desperately kept shouting,
“Please security forces I beg you to stop beating these people. Stop it. _Ku daina. Ku daina. A yi hakuri. Jama’a mun zo harkan siyasa ne. Jama’a muke nema.” Speaking in Hausa Language.
The President’s military ADC rose to his full height. Nearby, Tinubu looked transfixed. The Senate President looked unimpressed.
It was the clearest statement yet that even APC supporters were as disenchanted as
other Nigerians at the unparalleled suffering that has become the legacy of APC.
Yes, Chief MKO Abiola had gone through the Jos Stadium to become the elected president of Nigeria.
And yes, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo had also gone through this facility to get elected as president of Nigeria.
But Chief Bola Tinubu has not received the blessing of the people of Plateau to pass through this stadium to be Nigeria’s next president. They have roundly rejected him.
Atiku for President and Mutfwang for the Governor of Plateau will continue to be the leading names in uniting the country and providing the leadership that ushers in peace and prosperity for Nigerians.
Jos has made the clearest statement that it rejects the politics and governance of mediocrity and deception and that this is the time for Nigerians to remain committed to changing their destiny for good at the 2023 polls. Nigeria requires leaders who builders and not mediocre who are mockers.
Jos, Nov. 9, 2022 (NAN) Dr Sani Dawop, the Governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Plateau, says he would revive the economy of the state through massive industrialisation of elected in 2023.
Dawop, 56, said this in a interaction with newsmen on Wednesday in Jos, adding that the economy of the state had been stagnant owing to the absence of manufacturing companies.
The candidate decried the absence of manufacturing firms in the state had contributed to the high level of unemployment and poor Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)
”If you go round the whole state, you hardly can find any strong and viable manufacturing company that is doing well.
”Government provide all the jobs, so we will use the industries we will establish and create enabling environment for them to create employment opportunities for our people.
”By so doing, we are not only reviving the economy of the state, but boost its IGR and widening the development scope of the state,”he said.
Dawop promised to take advantage of the rich agricultural, tourism, mining and other rich potentials of the state, adding that he would use the industries to ensure value addition in the production of agricultural products and natural resources.
He promised to establish Agricultural Transformation Agency in the state and integrate the existing Agricultural Services and Training Centres (ASTC) and the Plateau Agricultural Development Programme (PADP) into it to boost agricultural activities in the state.
”We don’t have a single company that is adding value to our rich potentials in Plateau and so we will upscale agriculture from mere consumption to viable business
”We shall also create opportunity for young people to actualise their full potentials through industrialisation,”he promised.
Dawop, who decried the dilapidated state of infrastructure in the state, promised to rehabilitates existing roads and construct news ones to attract investors into the state.
He also promised to resuscitate the falling standard of public education in the state, insisting that only through quality education would ensure a better future for the younger generation.
”It is not news that our educational system is in shambles; it is nothing to write home about.
”I’m a product of public schools and today I have attain my full potentials in life. But are our public schools still as they used to be?
”And our current leaders are all products of free and quality education given them through public schools yet they are the ones trying to kill the system.
”So, we are coming to initiate and inject new ideas toward bettering the lots of our people in critical sectors,”he said.
