Benin Monarch Taunts APC For Disqualifying Obaseki After Fielding Him
By, Alex giwa, jos
The Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II on Wednesday taunted the All Progressives Congress (APC) for disqualifying the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki barely four years after fielding him four years ago.
The incumbent Governor, is currently seeking re-election on the platform of Peoples Democratic party (PDP) for the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki, was disqualified in June 2020 by Prof. Jonathan Ayuba-led APC screening Committee shortly before the National Working Committee (NWC) was dissolved by the National Executive Council (NEC), presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on June 25, 2020.
Oba Ewuare II, said this during a peace meeting with the Candidates and leaders of PDP and APC in the State on Wednesday at his palace where he urged politicians to retrieve their guns from their supporters.
The traditional ruler explained that he summoned the meeting following the request by the National Chairman of the Independent National Commission (INEC), to use his position to rally actors in the election to a peace deal ahead of the poll.
“I saw him going to Esama house and I now asked him if was not going to Esama’s political party. He denied. Later, is it not the same party he belongs now? Anyway, I do not really blame him (Obaseki). He was forced to move to PDP.
“I was surprised that what made him qualify four years ago, has now disqualified him”, Oba Ewuare II quarried.
He admonished the politicians to stop making Edo State a defence point for vices, adding that power is transient, hence political office holders should learn to use it wisely.
“You are making everyone else make Edo State a laughing stock”, he said.
The Oba, described the event as historic and urged politicians to stop arming thugs ahead of the election and give peace a chance, even as he reinstated that he is not interested in who wins or looses the election.
“Tell your boys to stop killing themselves…I am not interested in who wins the election. I have sacrificed my franchise. Through, In an entitled to vote Constitutionally.
“It will be contradictory for me to vote for a political party even if it is an open secret ballot”.
He listed the abolition of Community Development Associations (CDA) and drastic reduction in Human trafficking in Edo State under Obaseki’s administration through his support.
“We are all one family. There is nothing that cannot be resolved…Before 2016, the activities of CDA’s that hindered development and made it difficult for people to build their own house in Benin when I was still an Ambassador.
You all know today that that is history now.
“When I came, I made a proposal seeking abolition of CDA’s, and His Excellency (Obaseki) supported it.
I also made a pronouncement then that those who do not abide by it will have the ancestors to contend with”, he stressed.
The monarch who called out the names of some politicians, recalled how Oshiomhole recommended Obaseki to him as his successor at the twilight of his administration barely four years, but, he neither made any utterance nor opposed him.
He also condemned the attack on Governor Godwin Obaseki and other guests, notably governors and other Very Important Persons (VIPs), at his palace, sequel to the flag-off of Obaseki’s re-election campaign.
Two former National Chairmen of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Hon. Philip Shaibu and the Candidate of APC in the September 19, 2020 Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu with his running mate, Mallam Gani Audu, were among the prominent politicians who attended the meeting which was called at the instance of Oba Ewuare II.
The meeting which lasted for two hours, featured the State deputy governor, Hon. Philip Shaibu and Mallam Gani Audu, running mates to PDP and APC Candidates, National Vice Chairman of PDP, South South, Chief Dan Orbih and the State Chairman of PDP, Mr. Tony Aiziegbemi.

But my dissactifaction is on the area of choice of venue of presidential villa for the investigation panel.

” I Expected that with the amount of financial allegations levelled against the former Efcc chairman, Ibrahim Magu, the trial should have been open to the general public where all Nigerians will follow what is actually amiss .
He further condemned the secrecy of the trial of Magu , on the ground that he is free citizens of Nigeria that is been paid from tax payers money which the people deserve to know what is happening as the trial progress.

He accused the government of trying to hijacked the whole process at the beginning of the pandemic.
Which he said has contributed largely in the wide spread of the pandemic across the various state of the county.
” It took consertive efforts by well meaning Nigeria to advice the Federal , State or local government level to allow health professional to handled issue of Covid-19 in term of advice , protocols the country should follow to mitigate further spread of the pandemic.”
The Barr.laud the government for by ensuring the entire country is lockdown by various organs either presidential , or state that has help in not small measure in the spread of Covid-19.
He berated Nigeria’s who did not abide to the directive given by the the health expert and the government which has put the entire country at health risk.
“Yes the government have given an order, the health professionals has also done their part , the question now is that are Nigerian following the Covid-19 protocol ?, as directed by both the government and health professionals , having been following the discussion around the Covid-19 disease especially in Nigeria , you will agreed with me that we Nigerians are not also helping ourselves.
He further add that quite a number of us the Nigeria were not helping ourselves and the entire system .
” One of the Covid-19 protocol given to the Nigerians by the government and the health professional is that you should wear face mask , observed social distancing , wash and sanitize your hand regularly.
“When you go out on the street, we refuse to obey this simple instructions on the whole , government have share of the blame , so also the Nigerians who are not still obey simple instruction , as far as the Covid-19 is concerned.
He however advice the government that Nigerians are watching and more conscious of what is happening in the country than before.

Oshiomhole only disappointed because Obaseki refused to be used in his quest to become Edo’s godfather – Osagie
By, giwa Alex, jos

Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, has said the sacked former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is only disappointed because Governor Godwin Obaseki refused to be used in his quest to become a godfather in the state.
In a statement, the governor’s aide said the recent vituperation of the sacked former National Chairman is just an expression of his frustration over his failure to achieve his goal to govern Edo State for a third term using Governor Obaseki as a proxy.
According to him, “In 2016 when Oshiomhole nominated and supported Obaseki, his hidden motive was to use Governor Obaseki who he thought would be a pawn in his game to defraud Edo people and enthrone himself as the ultimate godfather of Edo politics at the expense of the will and wishes of Edo people.
“However, Obaseki’s refusal to mortgage the interest of the majority of Edo people for the satisfaction of the avarice of Oshiomhole and his handful of greedy followers is the cause of Oshiomhole’s bitterness which has led him to bury himself in pursuit of an innocent governor who is trying to do the right thing for his people.”
“If Oshiomhole had made any mistake in supporting Obaseki in 2016, it is to the extent that he thought that the Governor will submit himself as a tool to be used to hold the collective will and best interest of all Edo people hostage and for this Obaseki owes Oshiomhole no apologies because the interest of Edo people is and will always be greater than the interest of one man”, Osagie added.

The Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Alh Bashir Musan-Sati has numerate issues why the People Democratic Party, PDP, crises still escalated across the country despite ruling for 16 years by heralding politics of selfish agenda, promoting tribal, religion affiliation.
In his interview with journalists at his home opposition Jos North Local Government Council secretariat on Sunday in Jos, Musan-Sati said this year 2020 Ramadah came as the most challenging period when corona virius is rampaging the entire continent including Nigeria, as we are going into Ramadah period we hope and pray that most of the problems will be sumountable.
“We are praying for the country , state , local government and of course ourselves .But as for the challenges, people where lockdown in their various houses not allow to go out for

their daily business where they earn their daily living. This time is also wonderful period because it gives us the the opportunity to stay close to our family and remained indoor to pray and rededicated ourselves to Almighty Allah Particularly on the happening (Covid-19)”.
“We find ourselves in a period we look up to God in prayer without looking any other place else , we pray that our prayer will be answer”,he added.
Barr. Bashir pointed out that globally, the world is facing economic hardship and Nigeria can’t be an expetion, I want to believe this challenges will not be there permanently , in fact is after the corona virus the people we began to tighten their belt .
Adding, “I so much believe that before corona virus, there was no opportunity, which I so much believe that after this period opportunity may avail itself where the means of satisfying them may not be there”.
“We just pray and hope that the corona virus go first and let work towards what may follow, there is no hardship that last forever , with time what we are facing now will definiatly fade away”,he noted.
He lamented that, “Our prayer is that God should save us from this monster call corona virus , so we most pray to get the live first , because if there is no live , there would not be struggle to live , ones we are able to get it along the line, every other things would take shape”.
We are praying that those whose their economic are in shamble , and with the little we have and where ever we are, we are determine as people and still remain strong for better future for Nigeria.
Answering questions that the opposition party in the state (PDP)are against themselves in the state, there is insinuation that the crisis is the handiwork of the ruling party (APC)in the state, how true is that?
According to musan-sati, this is a blatant lie ,
I think this is coming from people who didn’t known the political terrain in the state, if you look at the whole issue , People Democratic Party (PDP)is having crisis from the National level , state , local government and down to wards.
He disclosed that, this is the case of “Things Fall Apart” and the centre can no longer hold.
That is just the problem in PDP and on body need to tell PDP to go and fight or come to reconcilation .There is nothing you brought on falsehold , there is no way you can correct it and have solid foundation, before now, the people Democratic Party (PDP)has been in shamble , I don’t see how they can stand.
Our prayer is for them to go and sort out themselves, we ll not pray that they should continue to be having problems , we want to have vibrant opposition to always point where we are going wrong.
When we are not having strong opposition, we are not even comfortable , it make us believe in win!win!!.we want somebody who can challenge us as ruling party , and by challenging , it will be making us be more strong , vibrant and revigorated, ones we are challenge , we ll be able to know where we going wrong and to be corrected.
Last week I read in a media that senator Beni Lar , member representing Lantang in the House of Representative camp and that of the camp of Senator JT Usani are fighting against themselves which is quit unfortunate .
If ever being the same family , they have a rethink and come together do have themselves reunited again if they decide to do it that way, fine and good , but it is the other way round, we allow them to be what they want to be.
There is freedom of association as in our constitution, we don’t have to come and sponsor crisis in PDP because we believed that the state is for all of us .
If the PDP are in crisis , we can’t rule out that fact that crisis may escalate to affect innocent people in the state.
Therefore , is not our prayer that anybody, anywhere and anyhow should have problem, we pray for party member to come together for better understanding.
If the problem of their party is irreconcilable, they can as well as continue like that, there is nothing the APC as a party can do about it.
Let me make it clear , you must be understood that where there is fraud and deceit , no matter how far you have gone, you must come back to reality.
Where there is party primaries, you then think you can manipulate , impose and shortchange people , definatly, there will come a day you account for your action.
This is democracy , in imbibing the tenant of democracy, you allow people to have freedom of association , speak within the comfires of the law and allow where you want them to be directed, is not when somebody will seat at the comfort of his sitting room and dictates how things should be down in the party probably because he is a money bag, it has not happened anywhere.
And again it required consensus, people should come together, talk their mind and take their proper direction .
If you think you are wise , and have a lot of money, how long will that last?
My advice therefore is that they should play the game according to the rule, in clear form, as much as they play clean game.
what is your call to the people of the state
“My message is that people should understand that it is a hard time , people should take it easy, very soon, things we come to shape.”
Very soon , this matter will be matter of the past , we are praying for quick , fast, free recovery of the economy, and those who have lost their family, we pray God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.
We should begin to understand that Covid-19 is real no two way about it.
Even the “Doubting Thomas” are beginning to understand that Covid -19 is real .
And it has begin to claim lives here in jos North LG as we now have Fourty- Six(46)confirmed cases in the area , so people should now know that the pandemic is real and people should try and be careful.
They should follow dedicatedly the simple guidelines given by (NCDC).
However, no matter how careful , if God has destiny that you are going to die , you are going to die , Death is inevitable end that would come when it will come .
Our advice and prayer is we most be careful and avoid reckless live, they should not take things for granted.
The economy is badly affected by covid -19 pandemic which is very obvious , but those who are well to do , should be up and doing in assisting one another that is the main message of fasting period, if I have problem extend helping hands to your neighbour so that their suffering could reduce significantly.
Is not that you have, you only have it to yourself and your family alone.
