Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has joined Christians in Plateau State, Nigeria, and across the globe in celebrating the 2025 Christmas season, urging believers to embrace peace, unity, and sustained prayers for leaders at all levels of governance.
In a Christmas goodwill message marking the birth of Jesus Christ, Governor Mutfwang described the season as one of deep reflection, gratitude, and renewed hope, calling on citizens to recommit themselves to values that promote harmony and peaceful coexistence.
The Governor expressed appreciation to the people of Plateau State for their continued support of his administration, noting that their resilience and collective commitment to peace have remained critical in the face of ongoing security and economic challenges.
He specifically appealed to Christians to pray fervently for Nigeria’s leaders, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, courage, good health, and divine guidance in steering the affairs of the nation for the benefit of all citizens.
According to Governor Mutfwang, Christmas serves as a reminder of God’s boundless love for humanity, demonstrated through the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ—values which, he said, should inspire compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and selfless service in society.
“This sacred season fills our hearts with joy, love, and togetherness. It reminds us of the divine light that came into the world through the birth of Jesus Christ, bringing hope, redemption, and reassurance to a weary world,” the Governor stated.
He further urged residents to use the season to rekindle a renewed commitment to peace, mutual understanding, and care for the vulnerable, stressing that sustainable peace begins with individual and collective responsibility.
Governor Mutfwang also expressed deep sympathy to families who lost loved ones during recent violent attacks in parts of the state, assuring them that his administration remains resolute in addressing security challenges, particularly in rural communities.
Acknowledging the prevailing economic pressures and security concerns, the Governor reassured citizens that the Plateau State Government is working tirelessly, in collaboration with security agencies and relevant authorities, to safeguard lives and property and restore lasting peace across the state.
“Your government is not oblivious to these challenges. We are fully committed to protecting lives and property, restoring peace, and laying the foundation for sustainable development across Plateau State,” he assured.
As part of proactive measures to strengthen security during the Yuletide and beyond, Governor Mutfwang disclosed that the state government has commissioned 1,450 trained Operation Rainbow personnel, drawn from all 17 local government areas of the state.
He noted that the operatives, selected across religious and ethnic lines, will provide early warning intelligence to security agencies for swift response to emerging threats.
The Governor also revealed that arrangements have been concluded with the Nigerian Air Force to deploy helicopters for aerial surveillance throughout the Christmas period, particularly to enhance rapid response in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
On behalf of his family, the Plateau State Government, and the peace-loving people of the state, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians worldwide, wishing them a peaceful, joyful, and spiritually fulfilling celebration.
