The President of the Jos North Traditional Council, Ujah Anaguta Johnson Jauro Magaji, has praised Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, for what he described as a bold and timely intervention in strengthening the state’s security architecture through the passing out of 1,450 Operation Rainbow operatives.
The royal father spoke on behalf of the Jos North Traditional Council on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025, during the passing-out parade of the Plateau State Security Outfit, Operation Rainbow, held at the Zaria Road Stadium, Jos.
According to Ujah Anaguta, the successful training of the operatives would go a long way in complementing the gross shortage of conventional security personnel across the state and would significantly enhance efforts to combat insecurity and criminal activities bedeviling Plateau communities.

He called on citizens to give the operatives maximum cooperation to enable them perform their duties effectively, stressing that community support was critical to achieving lasting peace.
The traditional ruler also advised the newly deployed personnel to shun any act capable of tarnishing their image, urging them to work closely with conventional security agencies in the overall interest of the state.
He wished them success as they embarked on their assignment.
Earlier in his address, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang described the passing out of the operatives as a decisive step by his administration to strengthen peace, safety, and public confidence at a time when insecurity remains one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges.

The ceremony, which attracted top government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, and local government chairmen, marked a major expansion of Plateau State’s community-based security framework.
Governor Mutfwang disclosed that the 1,450 operatives, drawn from all 17 local government areas of the state and representing different ethnic and religious backgrounds, were trained to improve intelligence gathering, early warning mechanisms, and rapid response to security threats, especially in rural and vulnerable communities.
He emphasized that security remains the foundation for sustainable development, noting that without peace, there can be no meaningful progress, investment, or unity.
The governor further explained that the training programme went beyond physical drills to include discipline, respect for human rights, adherence to the rule of law, and responsible engagement with civilians.

The governor charged the operatives to discharge their duties with professionalism, integrity, and restraint, while maintaining close collaboration with conventional security agencies and community stakeholders.
Speaking to journalists after the event, the Special Adviser on Security and Homeland Safety and Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, Brigadier General Gakji Shipi (Rtd.), described the passing-out ceremony as one of the most fulfilling moments of the Mutfwang administration.
He attributed the success of the recruitment and training exercise to the governor’s full support, noting that it was the first time operatives were recruited from all 17 local government areas of Plateau State.
According to Brig. Gen. Shipi, the expanded deployment would significantly boost intelligence gathering, early warning, and rapid response, while reducing damage during security incidents by bridging the gap before the arrival of conventional security forces.
