Mangu/Bokkos Killings : CP Adesina Visits Troubled Areas, Deploys Operational Assets And Manpowers, Hold Security Meeting With Stakeholders.

Sequel to sudden resumption of sporadic kill in Mangu and Bokkos local government in plateau central that has so far  led to the killing of not fewer than Ten persons and properties of millions of naira destroyed,  the Commissioner of Police ,Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, has visited the troubled are to assess the situation.

The visit of the police harachy to the troubled two communities of Mangu and Bokkos LGC is contained in a Press statement dated 19th April 2024 signed by the force Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, and made available to Journalists in Jos , the state capital. 

According  to release,is to forestall further attacks, the operational conscious Commissioner of Police has deployed operational assets and tactical teams to the troubled areas and immediately held security meetings with stakeholders in the affected areas to figure out modalities that will help foster peace in those areas. 

The Command further  stated that is also working hand in glove with other relevant security agencies in the State to restore peace and normalcy in the affected areas. 

The Plateau Police Chief however condemned the killings and destructions in the two Local Government Areas assures that, the Police in the State will not rest until perpetrators of the dastardly acts are arrested and prosecuted accordingly. 

And  further extended his heartfelt condolences to families of those who were gruesomely killed in the ugly incident. 

Consequently, the Plateau State Police Command’s on the spot assessment of the deadly attacks in Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of the State has reveals that on the 19th April 2024, at about 0020hrs, unidentified terror group invaded Tilimpat village, in Pushit district of Mangu LGA, killed eleven (11) persons and injured seven (7) others gruesomely murdered.

Similarly, on the 18th April 2024 at about 2000hrs, two (2) persons  were killed and three (3) injured in Bokkos attack .

However, the injured persons had been taken to the hospital and are currently responding to treatment.

The Commissioner of Police urges the general public to assist the police with timely and accurate information to enable the police response to security situations in the State.
