CP Plateau Command Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina Commends Gov.Mutfwang For His Support, Parades allege Bokkos Militias And Other Criminals.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of plateau State has been commended for creating enably atmosphere and making logic available for the security personnel to operate which make the fight against crimes and Criminality in the state possible, however appealed to Journalists in the state to endeavour to cross check their facts, avoid rushing to the press.

The Newly  posted Commissioner of Police of the command Emmanuel Olugbemiga Asesina 

make the commendation and appeal during Press briefing at the command headquarters in Jos, plateau state capital 26th April 2024.

The police boss said without obvious  sincere and desirous support of the governor to  ride the state of criminal minded elements which informed provision of logic to the security agent their work would have be stressful and difficult.

He further add that the press briefing is to intimate Journalists in the state,and general public the breakthroughs by the force in an efforts to wrestle crimes and criminalities in the State.

CP  Adesina said the command have succeeded in putting an end to the activities of some criminal-minded individuals in our midst whose perception of a decent life is to steal, rob, kill, destroy properties, kidnap, burgle dwelling places of unsuspecting citizens and commit other heinous crime in the State.

Among those Paraded by the police include on Haruna Abdullahi, male, who was indicted by one Rebecca Danjuma on a dying declaration in relation to the 24th December 2023 attack in Bokkos LGA and was also mentioned by a kingpin one Jibrin Musa Goje who was paraded by the force PRO as his co-conspirator in a crime. 

Also paraded along side with  Haruna Abdullahi is   the case of criminal conspiracy and attempt to commit an offence to wit Kidnapping,which the police boss said sequel to the payment of the sum of one million naira (N1, 000,000) to an unknown caller by a complainant who was threatened to pay the money, to avoid being kidnapped, the complainant reported the incident to Gindiri divisional Headquarters and investigation commenced immediately.

During our investigation, the anonymous caller was tracked through his GSM number and was eventually arrested by Gindiri police operatives in connection to the reported incident. On interrogation, the suspect named, Suleiman Adamu Garba ‘m’ of Nanga Gindiri, Mangu LGA of Plateau State   confessed voluntarily to have committed the offence with one Adamu Langai who is now at large. The case is still under investigation and efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

Others are Culpable Homicide/arrest of suspects which the police said on19th April 2024 at about 4pm, we received a report at the Bokkos Divisional Headquarters, that on the same date at about 2pm, one Damlan Mallan, Maju Philemon and Mandic Daniel all male of Tenti, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area while on their way to the farm at Gawarza village in Bokkos Local Government Area, that their motorcycle developed a mechanical fault. Consequently, they stopped and attempted to repair it when suddenly; a number of armed hoodlums unexpectedly opened fire on them and shot one Damla Mallan. 

On receipt of the report, Police detectives from Bokkos division immediately rushed to the scene where the lifeless body of the victim lay motionless. They immediately rushed him to the Cottage Hospital Bokkos, from where he was referred to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH); he eventually died on the way. The Police action later resulted in the arrest of the following suspects: one Sani Mohammed male, Buhari Mamuda male and Haruna Abdullahi, male, who was indicted by one Rebecca Danjuma on a dying declaration in relation to the 24th December 2023 attack on Bokkos LGA and was also mentioned by a kingpin one Jibrin Musa Goje who was paraded by the force PRO as his co-conspirator in a crime. 

On 21st April 2024 at about 2pm while the natives of Gawarza and Chireng villages were returning from burying the corpse, one Hassan Abdullahi and Mohammed Sani both male barricaded the road in an attempt to attack the mourners while on their way back to their various residences. 

The two suspects have all been arrested. The case is under investigation at the State CID Jos, and will be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigations.

Suspects Paraded are Cult related  suspects 12th April 2024 at around 10:10pm, a distress call was received from one Dauda Mamuda of Angwan-Rogo area of Jos North. 

Reporting an attack where the

 victim was stabbed with a knife and scissors by hoodlums suspected to be members of the Sara-Suka cult group and abandoned in front of a church with the intention of causing religious upheaval. Consequently, three suspects have been arrested while the victim was rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment. Sadly, the victim passed away while receiving medical attention in the clinic.  Our efforts are underway with a view arresting the fleeing suspects.

Defilement/Arrest on the 19th 2024 at about 2:20PM, a report was received at the Kaduna Vom Division from one Lyop Dung female, 25 years of Kuru village, who reported that on the 18/04/2024 at about 3:00pm, her 5 year old daughter, was lured and sexually assaulted by one Teregwong Gyang male, 29 years of same address. 

The victim was immediately taken to Vom Christian Hospital for medical examination and treatment. The suspect has also been arrested and investigation is currently ongoing at the State CID. The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigation.

Recovery of Firearms   

On 24th April 2024 at about 11pm, while on an intelligence-led stop and search operation along Zaria Road opposite New Stadium Jos, ‘A’ Division Police patrol team of the Command arrested one Manasseh Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 24 years old of Heritage ECWA Staff Jos with one locally made pistol and one live cartridge. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to have purchased the gun at the rate of Twenty Five Thousand Naira (N25, 000.00) from one Gambo (Surname unknown) ‘m’ of Farin Gada, Jos who is now at large. The case is under investigation and effort is been intensified to apprehend the gun runner.

Rescue of Kidnap victims/arrest of suspect on 24th April 2024, at about 4:30pm, a distress call was received from the Vigilante Group in Buga Forest Village, reporting that unknown some gunmen invaded and kidnapped two persons from Radi Village in Bassa LGA, Plateau State, and four others from a village in Toro LGA, Bauchi State.

Upon receipt of this intelligence, I immediately ordered the mobilization of a team of Police officers in conjunction with our Security help groups for a rescue operation led by the DPO. Consequently, our team engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel, resulting in the successful rescue of Six (6) kidnapped victims namely: 

one Bala Hassan, one Ibrahim Yakubu, one Okasha Isa, and one Usman Dawai of Dokayal all male of a Village in Toro LGA, Bauchi State, as well as one Joshua Ayuba and one Titus Ayuba of Radi Village in Bassa LGA, Plateau State. The rescued victims were debriefed and reunited with their families. One of the suspects, one Usman Bello male, was apprehended with gunshot wounds during a search operation carried out by our men at the scene of the crime. Exhibits recovered in his possession includes, Seven (7) rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition. Investigation is in progress, with a view to arresting the fleeing suspects and ensuring that the law takes its course.

Raids and arrest of suspects in connection to various crimes within Jos metro area command in our ongoing efforts to combat crimes and criminal activities in the State, a combined patrol team from Area Command Metro, ‘C’ Division and N/Gwong Division, in collaboration with our security help groups embarked on raiding of several black spots within the metropolis.

 As a result, Twenty-Five suspects were arrested. Exhibits recovered in possession include; dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a d a toy pistol. The suspects confessed to being part of a gang of thieves that specializes in stealing iron rods and scraps. The suspects will soon be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigation. 

In another development, while acting on a tip-off, we also arrested one Maisara Khalid, who is accused of masterminding the killing of a teenager. Our investigations are ongoing.

We received a report at the Mikang Division, reporting that one Samson Lekyong, a teacher allegedly lured and raped a 15 year old girl. The victim was taken to the hospital for a medical examination, and the suspect has been arrested. The case is currently under investigation and will be charged to court on completion of the investigation.
